You know... It's funny. I still remember, like yesterday, logging into L2 during Beta and feeling "wow this game is so different...", hearing the first "giggles" of an imp outside of DEV.

I'd played a few other MMOs, but none of them felt like L2. NCSoft really created something rare and amazing with this game, even with its warts and flaws. Nothing else like it before or since.

I wouldn't have thought I'd be watching a video like this years later, missing those days.

I was thinking of promoting my idea of recreating lineage 2.

What I mean is: thousands of oldschool players, which miss l2 will join up, and will have their fun just like in the old times. The server starts as chronicle 1 and each few months it advances - c2, c3, c4. And the players will vote of when to stop advancing chronicles. The rates about x1-x5. No donating items. Does anyone like this idea? Thumbs up then!

sad to say,but im more than sure its not gonna work... its not that much about chronicles.. its more about the fact that for most of us this was first "full-scale" mmorpg, and we've lived it. Back then i was only 14-15, i could afford being online for days, care of nothing. Today im 21, its been over 6 years... its impossible to be the same person...

sitting on his chair, playing it, and getting sad cuz you have to sleep, waking up, dont go to school cuz of playing it. Now, after so many years, you get borred if you're not lvl 85 withing 3,4 days. Sad but true, the time on C1 was amazing. Now, after SO many new chronicles, the game became.... more and more a pvp game only. sometimes i just listen the freya login music and though "omg, so many time pasts"

@RomtimBS id love to, but lineage 2 has lost it's magic to me now that i'm 21 - i started when i was about 15 years old on lineage2extreme. it's an amazing game but time has moved on, i wish i could bring it back.

@RomtimBS There is no reason to start the game at an earlier stage of development if the added content in later chronicles does not interfere with existing content. Why not have all the new content (areas&places mainly) from the start but none of the subtler gameplay-changes and perhaps not the Kamael or new classes? Then you can keep it that way forever.

Then again, there are many reasons why start the game at the earliest stages of development. Since all the new content interferes with the existing content in a way that makes the previous content obsolete. I am not talking about antharas becoming obsolete, or giran. I am talking about the means of gameplay, and the reasons.

@RomtimBS I tought of that but dude, is tough to maitain the server rolling, I know a lot about administrating one, I was GM in C1 private server then helped create L2 Killer, unfortunately today the good chronicles that go from C1 to C5 simply don't survive. And how would you fund the server without donations? I played in the last c4 x5 server that survived cause I love the game, and the server you're thinking would be perfect, but I don't know if it would work out well, players are litle kids.

I loved how no one ever had money for the teleports and everyone journeyed to the cities in groups to fight the monsters in the way and defend from the "bandits" (PK's). Those journeys to Gludio with my dwarf friend, looking at the beautiful landscape and travelling for several hours...
