I love this rifftrax, but it was pretty difficult finding a theatrical version of "The Grudge" on DVD since all they tend to have out now is the director's cut.
So is this the piss scary Japanese version or the pissy remake? I think it's important for us to know that. I don't like horror movies so having Mike and Bill there was a huge relief. LONG LIVE JOYCE!
Never get a job at a japanese clinic.

Ummm not exactly since it is one of the only decent remakes of a J-horror film.
lieutenanterrrrrrrr 3 years ago
Agreed. The original Japan film is one of the scariest movies EVER. (Behind Children of the Corn I... brrrrr...)
Kudos to the guys for a Mike & the Mad Dog reference! (Although they were on in the afternoon in New York...)

Don't get me wrong, I like Joel, too. I just wanted to give Mike his due. I don't have a preference, really. They both have their own style.
Arrowdodger 4 years ago
As Mike was always a head writer, a lot of what you remember about MST3K probably involved him. Remember the theme song? Then you remember his work.

"Amusing to everyone"? Err, no - just amusing to most people over the age of 25. And certainly less esoteric than references from DBZ message boards.
justfredca 4 years ago
Maybe they were trying for references and gags that would be amusing to people other than obsessive North American Japan-o-philes.
