  • Something very strange about this song...she's obviously referencing Nirvana, and she contemplates suicide, but this album was released in 1993, a year before Cobain took his own life. I think that's creepy, almost like the song predicts it.

  • @TheDynamiteMarie * correction, this performance was in '93, the album Hey Babe came out in '92. Sorry.

  • Somebody captured a top-notch performance. Perfect.

  • Hey Babe was one freeking amazing example of the young Juliana just laying it on the line for her songs. Her singing was so genuine on that album that every breadth of air between verses conveyed what she was feeling.

  • NICE!! Did you tape this? Sounds like a small place (smattering of applause). Great vocals w/ all the echo and stuff. I wish I'd managed to get a recording of this song in my travels, but I've never even heard the song until now. Thanks!

  • No, I didn't tape it. I got it in a trade a long time ago . . .

  • I think my sister is the best song she did,she sings from her heart.

  • No No, Thank You Julianna!!

  • no offense intened btw.. I love Juliana too! :-)

  • great song! .. too bad the sound is fuppy.. great voice... even live.. kinda reminds me of a tame female kurt kobaine.

  • "father should I end it all? I am so glad I am not dead." Contemplating suicide and being glad later she rejected suicide. Big Juliana fan here.

  • I hope that I can see J play one day too.

    Thank you.

  • So is this song about the band?

  • yeah. she was really into Bleach when she wrote it.

  • Juliana sorta runs w/ a theme -- it's not about the band, it is the power of music and how it makes you feel. Music saves. This is one of the earlier examples of that theme. Her most recent album she wrote a song called "This Lonely Love" which explores that theme in another way.

  • Yes, it's about music in general and how empowering it can be, but she is definitely referencing the band. She's said so in many interviews, and particularly she loved how Nirvana and became successful and stayed true to themselves. Very ironic the lyrics now when dealing with Nirvana as she sings, "I'm so glad I'm not dead..."

  • one of my favourite rock songs of all time

  • I seriously can't believe this is online. I missed this show, never thought I'd get to see it 15 years later.

  • She seems to be listing to herself over the PA. I hope she tours soon.

  • shes such a bad ass. you can see how much she really digs what shes doing up there.. so sincere.

  • Hey, I saw this on my way home from work.
