She should have used it outside though, in open space so the sound doesn't bounce around too much. I can imagine the sound to be deafening in that van. I blow dry my dog in the yard with her in a playpen. It's much softer and it doesn't hurt her ears. My rule of thumb is, if it hurts my ears, it will definitely hurt hers.

The grooming (including the air drying) is entirely necessary for this dog. He's not crying because he's in pain, or because the air dryer is too hot, he's crying because he wants his owner.

Alaskan malamutes originated from North America, their built to pull heavy loads and their weight ranges from 75lbs to 100lbs while Siberian huskies originated from Siberia, their structure is built for lighter loads and their weight ranges from 50-70lbs. They also have different personalities. I own a malamute and i get question from people all the time about the differences. But I guess is like saying which do you like better: pepsi or coke.

We use regular (human's) hair blower on our dog because he's just a Shih Tzu. He hates it. But he will just run and hide, not making noises like your Husky. But one day when I was drying my hair and let him into my room, we came sit near me and watched me using my hair blower. He barked at me and gestured that he wanted to play with it too (dude WTH!?) So I pointed my hair blower at him until he was satisfied. Ever since, he lets mom blow his hair with no more problem. Dogs are weirdos!

I had a husky for 16yrs, the most VOCAL singer ever! People are such poops and don't understand the breed at all with their negative commentary. My Husky was a jumper, if he didn't like something (like getting blow dried) he'd've been outta there. This dog didn't look restrained at all, just not liking the air blasted on his ears.
