  • One of those bands that SUCK.live

  • he sounds sick in this video... sucks cause normal he freaking SCREAMS on vocals...

  • is johnny knoxville? xD

  • Eminem is a rap legend.

Chevelle is the best rockband out there 2012!

Pinkfloyd is the best soft rockband(:

  • taproot and chevelle is the best concert I've seen in a while...

  • What happened here?! This band is usually amazing live.. This though made my ears bleed. I love Chevelle btw. They are an amazing band

  • you all listen to shitty music so shut the fuck up about who performs better live OKAY? Oh and I'm listening to this song because its one i loved when i was in high school.

  • YOU R ALL STUPID best live band: TOOL others: rob zombie, godsmack. Worst: Disturbed

  • He probly drank b4 he went on

  • Best live acts Ive seen: Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Korn, Disturbed

Worst: Chevelle by far...Sevendust is a trailing second, but I would pay money to see them over Chevelle anyday.

  • i really love chevelle with all my heart!!! buT be honest; this fucking sucks ass.

it sounds like me on acid fucking a cat (on crack, whathever, doesnt matter)... sorry.

  • Dog shit.

  • NOT GOOD "LIVE". Sorry. And @RUZTY1311...one of the best live bands? Ha, clean your ears out.

  • I think Pete was yelling back stage before this so he wasn't at his best. Something like that. But Joe was perfect. And Joe is rare and legendary. I'd rather you not agree with that. If everyone treated Joe like Justin B. Then Joe wouldn't be Joe.

  • @bellablackdove haha, are you retarded? Even if you are that's still a really stupid thing to say.

  • yall r all wround i know the singer of godsamck and there way better then any band live they r the number 1 paforming band live this year and last year

  • he sounds horrible..the band sounds amazing. it is obviously the MUSIC and a lot of magic that gets them where they are.

  • the only bad thing about this performance is the mix, who ever did their sound (like most tv show performances) is utter shit.

  • They are sooo good live :)

  • yeah, this wasn't too hot. But if you've ever seen chevelle live...they're sooooo good...

Can't really judge from a TV performance (especially their first TV performance)

  • Had to cut it off at the bridge. That was just bad. Saw them live once. Never again. Pretty nice guys though.

  • To put the debate to rest, yes Pete was singing off key here. But however they couldn't soundcheck before the show, or rehearse, so they almost walked off the set before this was filmed. BTW this was their TV debut. You would be nervous too, don't bullshit.

  • Good song, but they sound horrible live.

  • Ok so has anyone ever noticed that most of the time when ppl tlk shit about how a band sounds live theyre almost ALWAYS talking about the singer!?!? I mean really it's not the whole band u dnt like it's just the singing...... just saying...

  • I think this sounds GREAT! And Joe sings flawlessly.

  • i like this song...but that was horrible to listen to

  • One of the worst live performances I've ever heard.

  • 1:58 Great band but that 'intonation' is UNPARDONABLE...!!!

  • @firebluestar why 1:58? it's the whole performance, like the song, but damn that sucked....

  • @kingsmountainview Its not the whole performance. There are some vocal screwups, but playing guitar and singing isnt that easy either. Im a guitarist and a vocalist as well, and I doubt you could play this song and sing it better then he did.

  • chevelle pretty much likes to sound different live in a great way, i would change it up 2 after doing the same songs for years, listen to the solos pete does they change up a little live and it badass. besides if you sound the same live as you do in the studio then your boring and cant change it up

  • people who are expecting them to sound the same in studio as they do live, you do realize he is playing guitar and singing at the same time? do you have any idea how hard that is?

  • if you have ears you can clearly hear the major diff between these guys recorded and live. they almost suck live. if you dont agree your just hardcore fans and supporters and are looking through rose colored glasses.

  • Most men can't sing at the pitch he can and make it sound good.

  • im in love its the first song i heard about them and of course i was addicted to them quickly and his voice my god

  • Pete's chops are wonderous,

  • Beautiful voice..I like this performance.

  • yeah i love me some Chevelle, but this performance isn't too good vocally

  • Joe is perfect. I love hearing him sing.

  • Seen Chevelle live three times and they are amazing. Screw all you haters!!

  • OMG! What the hell !!! My Pete is not a fckn robot people... he is human. Ocassionally he may have a night when he is a little off. I have seen them 3 times live this year and watched about 200 live videos. They are AMAZING live... trust me!

  • wow so out of tune on the chorus...im not a hater but all u diehard chevelle fans need to get your heads out of your asses this is a very poor vocal performance

  • Chevelle obviously decided to just so a softer version of the song of that show, as obvious by the light distortion they used compared to normal. If you expect a band to come out and try to make songs sound just like it came of the album, you should step back and re-evalute music. Music is meant to be bend, and twisted, and improvised differently each time its played. If its not, its just dry and void of the musical expression it should convey.

  • I like chevelle & I like this song but wtf. Was he sick? I've never heard them live before this video so I don't know if he usually sounds like that or not but that's kinda bad.

P.S. Anyone can sing in the studio, everything gets edited before a song is released. U can pretty much sound however u want to.

  • @NYLI24 No he wasn't sick, but "Tour Fatigue" might had alot to do with this. But I think the main reason was that he didnt have his In-Ear Moniters that day, and coming from personal experience it is VERY hard to stay in tune with vocals when you cant hear yourself well. Personally I liked this show, and found it hilarious when his voice broke because that just shows he's human like everyone else.

  • first time i have ever seen them suck live damm chevelle you cant be doing that on live t.v. you guys are 2 sick live to sound like shit here, wtf dont be hungover and worn out when you are on live t.v. lol, still i got mad love ya tho!

  • perfect ending on the solo but great performance over all

  • That squeak at 1:58 is amazing xD

  • good stuff

  • seeing them in carnival of madness was frikn awesome! they blew away shinedown..

  • @moozikluvr hell yeah dude...chevelle is way better than shinedown in my opinion.....even though you didnt ask for my phuckin opinion lol.

  • Omg I love The GUITAR TONE soooo much does anyone know the tune pedal and Amps they use 4 this song

  • Sounds good to me. Great tune.

  • aah X_X bad,worse,worst!

  • yea i hate to say it, because i like chevelle's music so much, but i cant understand how such a powerful studio voice can suck so much live. he has a serious problem with pitch and strength when he sings live

  • godamnit i have never seen a bad performance by these guys. FUCKIN BADASS!!

  • Joe looks funny like the way hes walking...and the fact that he has his shirt off

  • when was this recorded?

  • i guess they had a rough night before that live.

sounds pretty crappy compared to studio versions, nevertheless great band.

  • You guys are all insane. Chevelle is one of the best live bands out there. I've seen them at house of blues in Anaheim,CA 2 times and they sound better than studio. Don't hate because none of you can play or sing like they do. Put a video of your band playing live and see how good you play. Douche bags.

  • amen.......screw the haters......chevelle is amazing

  • @RUZTY1311 I dig them, but when I saw them, their live show didn't meet my expectations. This was largely due to the fact that not many people in the crowd were feeling them (this was DC101 Chili Cookoff 2008). Carnival of Madness should change my mind though.

  • @RUZTY1311 Hey, I absolutely love Chevelle, but I'm almost certain this was a rough night for them. Probably tried to take their voices easy so as not to break the hard to hit notes, or they're nervous from playing on TV, who knows, but they aren't really at the top of their game here.

I have a video on my page of our full band cover. We probably aren't as exhausted as Chevelle is from playing often, but I think it turned out well.

  • @RUZTY1311 haters will hate forever and chevelle will rock forever

  • @RUZTY1311 "You guys are all insane. Chevelle is one of the best live bands out there. I've seen them at house of blues in Anaheim,CA 2 times and they sound better than studio. "

BHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. LOL! ROFL!!! LOLZ x INFINITY! HAAAUHAUHAHAHAUHUAHHAHAAHAHHAHAAHHA

    ARE YOU INSANE?

Lead singer sounds like DOGGG SHITTT compared to the album! This song ROCKS on the record because it sounds NOTHING LIKE this loser! THE BAND SUCKS! DEAL WITH IT!

  • @whoregay shut the fuck up. your username says it all, fucking idiot. first off, you sound like a socially awkward fatass moron who spends all his free time on the "interwebz" 2nd off, its really not that fucking funny. like I said, socially awkward fatass moron. DEAL WITH IT! fucking loser. what did you do, make this username just to "troll around" ? if anything's so fucking hilarious, its your excuse for life. go fuck off and sit in your corner.

  • @whoregay Sooooo....what band are you in again? I didn't think so......

  • @RUZTY1311 i like them but mudvayne i think is at the top for the best

  • wow this is the worst live version of the song ever =/ i was mad impressed when i saw them open up fopr TDG few weeks ago

  • He's way flat.

  • u have no idea wut the hell ur talking about u stupid dumb ass

  • I do actually:

    flat

    1 /flæt/ Show Spelled [flat] Show IPA adjective,flat·ter, flat·test, noun, verb,flat·ted, flat·ting, adverb

    a.

(of a tone) lowered a half step in pitch: B flat.

    b.

below an intended pitch, as a note; too low (opposed to sharp).

Most of us real musicians can tell when a note is flat. On the choruses, it is a FACT that he is flat.

  • they pretty good, just guitar too low and vocals too high

  • LMFAO SQEAUK AT 1:58

  • HAHA

  • what label signed them? for this?

I'll stick to hardcore/punk for live shows.

  • Don't get me wrong...I love Chevelle. Their studio stuff is FANTASTIC. That being said, they are NOT a good live band...AT ALL. I saw them in Lancaster over the summer, and let me tell me you, they butchered a number of songs, with Pete blatantly skipping parts he knew he could not perform live. Terrible live in general, but great band none the less.

  • but man this is on live tv. and it was their 2nd album. probably still a little nervous on stage. look em up now on the Sci-Fi crimes tour, that change your mind BauerKillz

  • Sorry bro, but I saw them live in Lancaster PA over the summer while they were debuting new material. They just are not a good live band at all. They BUTCHERED a number of fan favorites and absolutley DESTROYED Letter from a Thief. In fact, YOU look them up and listen to Letter From a Thief live. It's a joke. Solid studio band, terrible live act. It happens.

  • 0:32 Is that a mirror? Why is there 2 Joe's?

  • @iLikechevelle there is a clear wall in front of sam for sound purposes

  • pete's vocals are usually perfect live. dunno what happened this nite lol. hes the man, god bless him

  • He seems real nervous

  • 1st televised performance for them.

  • horrible live voice

  • AP: You've played some television shows to promote this album. Do you get nervous when you're on camera?

Loeffler: I actually almost walked off the Carson Daly show because their crew started yelling at us. They were doing a camera block, and we were just trying to do sound check. So, we had to stop and make changes. I was yelling at them, they were yelling at me, so we walked off. We ended up doing it anyway.

  • Ilikechevelle where did you get your info?

  • @iLikechevelle who are u?

  • I'm thinkin pete's voice was worn out from a show the night before or something...haha

    he's still a beast though.

  • my bad 1:59

  • haha, he squeeked at 2:01

  • yeah, its back when he sounded like he was english.

  • Wtf? He's from Chicago and has a slight accent. Sam has a heavy chicago accent

  • omg, what's wrong with his voice???

that voice is like when one is so much nervous that he cannot pitch any notes properly... was that his debut or sth?

  • 1st televised performance. You would be nervous too

  • it sounds so soft... it should be heavier

  • Perfect.

  • that wasn't their best performance.

  • idk man i loved this performance...

    i thought it was outstanding!

  • bad live. wicked normal.

  • Lol i find it so funny, you can hardly ever find a live preformance from Chevelle without seeing Joe with his shirt off.

  • haha! i know seriously. even in the music videos he has his shirt off.

nice that someone noticed it too.

  • lol i just find that to be hillarious. Every preformance, except in the music videos.

  • If it was mixed better at soundcheck I bet it would of been a better performance. I know when it sounds like shit on stage to the performer trying to keep it together and sounding good can be tough.

  • funny the bassist has reverb to his tone

  • Music is suffering these days. This is a high school rock quest. Put your clothes back on

  • these guys are actually wayyy better than most of that other emo crap out there or that wannabe punk crap...this is RPCK N ROLL SUCKAH!

  • Hater lol nuff sed... bwahaha!

  • Na just someone with a brain lol nuff sed... bwahaha!

  • It's hilarious how big intelligence gap is between these 2. Just look at the grammar.

concantenation is right, bands like Tool and Deftones are simply better, but hell, Chevelle's still one of the better alt-metal bands out there right now (certainly better than Breaking Benjamin)

  • Tool is my favorite hands down, but I absolutely love Chevelle. I've seen both bands twice each over the past two years and they were amazing live. Maynard is the best front man ever and DC is a beast on the drums. But comparing Tool and Chev is like comparing apples and oranges

  • metallica is better than tool

  • youre a noob

  • what does this have anything to do with this video

  • nothing about the video. The comment was about someone elses comment

  • aw come one man they sound fine, and by the way if you knew chevelle enough like i did, u would know that they came out alot longer ago than u think. try 1992. listen to the song Point One and tell me if u like it or not.

  • actually they formed 1995 and point 1 came out 1999. :)

    but they are amazing. :)

  • well at least the recording of this wuz bad ass but this really wuznt good...at all

and for all u that are gonna be all "stfu u cant do any better"

well first of all: how do u know i cant

and second: that doesnt matter i didnt say i could do better. i just said tha it wuznt good

i mean yeah it wuz cool when he said "LAY", i wuz thinkin oh this is gonna be sweet...till he said "DOWN" and he wus just sooo off pitch and it wuz just a mess

and his voice cracked ... i mean common now

  • Dude it's awesome how Pete has like 10 different colored PRS guitars and how his voice cracks lol.

  • guitar should have been louder.

    it would have sounded better

  • Lethargic performance. BTW, Craig Ferguson is way better.

  • well i imagine in such a low energy environment it's hard to get into anything

  • omg Joe is shirless even on tv shows hahaha, Joe The Hotness!!

  • lol, he crackled at 1:59

  • Yea he didn't do such a hot job singing this.

  • amen bro

  • I bet you can do better you douchfag!

    fucking bleeding pussyfart

  • he never said he could do better

he just said that he didnt do a good job

and come on, fucking bleeding pussyfart??

    come on now really dude??

waht the fuck is wrong wit ur head ....wtf

  • I love chevelle but the note on 1 :59 sounds sad

  • yea he sounds scared

  • umm

    i love this song....

    but this just sounds unusual...

  • Chevelle hasn't been good live up to recently with their new Vena Sera stuff.

  • They take alot of their new stuff out from their roots man. Point #1 and Wonder What's Next for example. Their new CD is great, and if it was too modern rockish, you'd hear it on every rock charts station out their with nickelback, linkin park, and other un original bands the same. I know that they've gotten radio play, but its not your typical.

  • theres a few songs on there that i actually like ... Saferwaters i love that song. i unno the new cd just wasnt that great for me. But whats worse is there music videos for there new songs =S i hate clowns lol

  • haha dude me too, clowns give me the creeps. and i have to agree with you with how it wasnt that great. but it definetly didnt blow. =P

  • yeah i wished there Saferwaters would be a single ... guess they just gonna save the best for last lol

  • Yes I miss the sound off WWN also, but Pete just wanted to pump things up a bit and made Vena Sera with a more uptempo rythem. Nothing wrong with some change now and then. Pete said that Chevelle is going to go back to their original sound on the next album which is good.

  • OMG thats sooooooooo fricken awsome!! well i still hope saferwaters is a single and without clowns

  • clowns, lol. I mean really-clowns? why? Did he have a fear of clowns? sound is good on vena sera, except for the vocal overdubs with seperate singing verses. But seriously uys get a fucking haircut and go back to "the red" era look, w gnarly sideburns.

  • Oh, man, I loved Chevelle...but hearing them live is just painful...:-(

  • the guitar is complicated while singing, I couldn't imagine myself pulling that off.

  • Yeah right dude, this song is so simple to play, he just used to not be very good at singing, their new stuff is way better

  • it is hard to play and sing at the same time though he doesn't do too bad. Matt Bellamy of Muse is a master of that art though as Muse is one of the best live acts to see

  • its kinda hard to play that riff and sing at the same time and don´t screw up . . just try it . . It´ll give you an idea. . . but oh well it´s true . .sounds crappy and everybody claps HAHAHA

  • Awesome band! and Song!

  • another reason why it might be that the vocals dont sound so good is probably because its hard for him to concentrate on playing guitar and singing at the same time, as opposed to the studio where he can do everything seperately

  • i agree with you however if he cant perform well while doing both then he shouldnt try too

  • or he could just make his riffs that he plays during the song easier while he sings or maybe let the bass take over. a good example would be in "the clincher", check it out.

  • put a fucking shirt on

  • lol

  • HE DOESNT NEED A SHIRT

  • I don't understand how Pete can belt those notes so powerfully and clearly in the studio, especially on Vena Sera, but totally sing pitchy live. I have seen plenty of bands that sound as good live, if not better than they do in the studio. It's just disappointing. Pete's gotten a little better over the years, but not enough to draw me to a show.

  • You can change the pitch in the studio from the control board. So say I was singing a song that was perfect, but I missed a couple notes they can go and change my pitch in those parts. This song was real slow and sucky imo. Staind and breaking benjamin are the best bands ive seen live.

  • Good call, man. Yes, I am aware that the band can tweek the sounds in studio. Technology such as Pro Tools and the like allow the band to alter the pitch and polish the songs. I just think of that as cheating. I have diminished respect for bands that rely on these tricks to pull of their sound. Also, I'm sure that touring screws up his voice, too.

  • its hard to believe what can be done in a studio.. that is why i like watching live performances because anyone can sound good on a cd its what they sound like live that sets them apart from the rest

  • I think one reason why a lot of bands don't sound good sometimes is because of the acoustics in the room or the microphones suck balls.

  • I second that... I saw Chevelle play live at the Arts Beats and Eats festival in Pontiac,MI back during Labor Day and the acoustics of the venue, Phoenix Center Ampitheatre, were poor.

  • Oh my god, the squeak!!! bwahahaha that alone made it worth watching. I seen them live once, they sounded like shite, but not even this bad. Wow.

"When hiIIIIsss siggghttttttt...." laughing my ass off here..

  • ahah im favoriting this cuz it sucked so much assss

  • ouch

  • it was alright...kinda intresting

  • they've improved a lot since then. saw em in atl a couple of months ago. they did this song 5x better in atl

  • dude that sucked

  • Oh, goodness. That squeak.

  • i didn't notice the squeak. saw it afterwards but...

  • Guys I saw them live they sound that bad...

  • LOL, i feel bad for him at 1:58.. to much bass, you can hardly hear the guitar..

  • ahhhh the crackkk at one fifty eight was the best part of it all

  • lindo.."!!!

  • Haha the sound guy sucked
