i use logic A LOT, i am enrolled on a music course n they use logic as there main daw to teach us on.

i have been producin a while n have used most daws, including, sonar, live, fl, reason, reaper, samplitude, renoise,cubase, pro tools and many more.

i have to say out of all honesty and havin herd so much about how great logic is.

I hear Logics great for the sync of video to your music and so on 'n' some of the many bundeled synths and effects are ok (but there are plugins that are far superior to them that work with any DAW)

But all in all i would say specificly for hip hop production and even more specificly for sample bassed hip hop production Logic isn't really the way forward for many many reasons.

But yea Ableton Live (well really Ableton Suite) is a good stright out the box solution.

I got logic but for some reason all my sounds don't come up anymore and all it has is the garageband stuff. It used to let me go in and do live performances but now it doesn't. I doesn't matter anyway now because I've moved to reason and ableton which is by far easier to do most things in than logic anyway.
