  • Cool. Bought the 45 when it came out. (not the gun but the single)

  • @jprgmusic lol

  • this guy is a legend.

  • seen him open and play with clapton. never heard any artist play so cleanly. no distortion; just emotion. he is so dedicated and it shows in his music...all clean. you can hear each and every note, and he's still super fast. well, when ya open, and/or play for or with EC, what else need be said? ? ? EC probably has a good idea of talent when he hears it. ya think? ? ?

  • amen brother!

  • I remember having this tape when it came out. I listened to it constantly. Robert Cray is one of the best blues guitarist there is. Loved this whole album Strong Pursuader.

  • Man oh man. I still get goosebumps when I play my album with this song on it. Had the maddest crush on this man!!!

  • The whole album,is superior but this song is especially good

  • This man was the first artist I genuinely liked on my own. No influence from friends/media. Still a favorite. ALL current "artists" (black/white/brown...whatever)

  • SMOKING HOT!!!!

  • @OneHitWonderGuy Yes it is. Why to hot. I remember this as a kid. back in the 80's. bad ass song.

  • Eric Clapton...watch out!!

  • I think that all African American hip hop artists should watch this video.

  • @sepulthrax I think any hip hop artist should watch this video.

  • @sepulthrax Why ?

  • @sepulthrax Do You Thing any of them have the talent to drop the nasty music they are doing and start to play a strat like that ?

  • @sepulthrax why? so they have another artist's material to rip off?

  • @michaelp3138 no, hip hop ahem (is it really music) artists seem to have never heard any kind of REAL music before... that's all that I'm saying

  • @sepulthrax WHY

  • @sepulthrax Yeah, then they might be inspired to actually learn a talent other than the dubious one of just spitting into a microphone,

  • @sepulthrax I think that all aspiring musicians, black or white, hip hop or rock, should watch this video.

  • @sepulthrax wtf

  • awesome song loving his music.....

  • but you dont know how to tell me and you know im not that dumb. yeah

  • look at 1:37-1:38...wire is cracked....:-)

  • @kutanja82

    you meen string...;-)

  • @kutanja82 first off its his string snapped, not his wire cracked.... second i think it might just be the video

  • @mikehayz0 its not just the video...ive been playing guitar for years and i can tell when a string pops. and yes, that is what it's called - "popping a string."

  • @kutanja82 so what! The Man has it down...

  • Robert Cray never got the recognition or respect he deserves. What an awesome blues guitarist, and I am not a huge blues fan!

  • I love robert cray can you tell me what kind of guitar he got

  • @sherena1000 he's got his own signature stratocaster. check it out on guitar center's website

  • Robert Cray is BEAUTIFUL!!

  • OK, his guitar smokes AND he can sing better than any blues artist AND he is handsome.....there it is folks, I said it.

  • Saw him two monthes ago. He rocks!! One of my favorites

  • @kermicheo, are you fucking retarded? I said she's crazy talented. I said nothing to do with her appearance or how she gains popularity. I can't fucking stand her I think her music is fucking terrible. But she is still hugely talented and intelligent.

  • saw him in 87. cool.

  • robert cray sublime genuis !

  • SO MUCH MORE CREATIVITY THAN SAY SRV, U THINK HES BITTER....KNOWING...HES BETTER?

  • @Indecisiveify Clearly, somebody (or something) thinks she is talented, but you're never going to convince anyone with musical integrity that she is talented.

She's a pop star, which basically means that she dresses outlandishly and is a mediocre singer at best. I remember her the first time she performed, when she was Madonna! She's not even original enough to come up with her own concept that she has to be the Madonna of the new millennium.

  • Hey.... I was at this Blues fest. Wow. Nice post! Thanks for the reminder :-)

  • Cray is pure talent..Lady GaGA?Get serious put the crack pipe down and step back! She couldnt carry Crays water bottle when it comes to having real talent. The crap you guys call music today sucks. You dont need talent today, just a slick promoter and a circus act to be a 'star'.Get a life!

  • @jwjerky Lady Gaga is crazy talented man, don't be so ignorant

  • Comment removed

  • @jwjerky I read that comment you posted through my email. And I'm guessing you removed it because it was fucking idiotic.

I'm not saying I like Lady Gaga, her music is fucking terrible, but to say she isn't talented is ignorant.

  • @tompascoew people who are truly gifted don't need to rely on an image or what they're wearing to gain popularity or recognition.

  • Robert's band hit #22 in Billboard, 4-18-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • THAT'S MY SHIT

  • da man da song go hard cray.

  • 14 ugly people will be killed by a smoking gun.

  • ROBERT CRAY PLAYED THE BASE WITH OTIS DAY AND THE KNIGHTS IN ANIMAL HOUSE......

  • love this song.

  • This Has to be one of Cray's best tunes, if not The Best tune he has ever performed! Gets me going Every time I hear it! Did he write it too? It is so awesome!

  • I'm 55 and I like Robert!!

  • YOU CANT TAKE MUSIC TODAY SERIOUS BECAUSE MOST THE SHIT ON THE BILLBOARD IS POP AND OR HIPHOP MEANING IT WAS MADE WITH COMPUTERS OR SAMPLED OF SOMEONE WITH TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm 18, thank god my dad got me into this, but i think it was my fate, my guitar teacher even likes him

  • Coming to Luzern in Switzerland to the Blueballs Festival next Tues. 25.7.

  • Smokin' Strat!

  • kinda looks like Micheal Winslow from police acadamy

  • R. C. is as great as B.B., Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Albert King, Johnny Copeland and the list goes on!!! Check out Collins Copeland and Cray - Showdown. It's remarkable.

  • Just want to say thanks, because I love music, and well between all the noise and BS, I found me some MUSIC, stellar and THANX!!

  • THIS GUY IS BB KING GREAT AND SHOULD BE NOTICED AS SUCH

  • @badhorsee

Had the pleasure of seeing him live at Johnstown, PA in the summer of 2010. Greatest living bluesman on the planet. One of the best of all time.

  • AND I MEAN RESPECT AS A N INNOVATOR, THAT VOICE.. AND YET THE GUY IS A MASTER BLUES PLAYER, JUST A GIFT FROM GOD

  • amazing guy , he will get his respect one day, there s just not any like him

  • Man, you do you tell yoursefl sometimes : " this song is sung by a black man, like rick ashtley, and then you find out he´s white??

This time i thought the opposite!!!!

  • love it

  • great song

  • gatopfuelsaver

  • I get a constant busy signal, when I call you on the phone.. Gotta love it. Great tune!

  • Os pais do jamiewilson tinham bom gosto e transferiram para o baby.

  • 13 people are totally retarted

  • love it!!! TY LEAH!!!!!!

  • perfect!!

  • nice song

  • That solo is absolutely out of sight

  • I'm not sure the age range people are referring to when they say "kids", but there are a few of us who appreciate musical talent from my age range. Given I'm 22, but I'm definitely still "kid" age to people that introduced me to Cray as a child (parents and their friends). Unfortunately the "talent" now is Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga (notice talent is in parentheses)

  • @iarestoopid88 You mean quotes...

  • @iarestoopid88 i'm 12 and going to see him in concert tonite so lol

  • @adampplaysguitar Good for you! Hope you enjoyed it! How was it????

  • @Pilotpatty1 amazing!

  • @adampplaysguitar Lucky you!!! I am glad you enjoy it and I am especially glad that at your young age, you are able to really appreciate Real and Great music like this! If you need help searching out other great artists and tunes, just ask us oldies here! I, myself have a collection of well over 2000 cds! I plan on continuing to collect until the day I die. I dont have an I Pod so I dont download online.

  • @Pilotpatty1 i recently played at Toad's Place w/ Rohn Lawrence. I'd hate to be a spammer but check it out man!

  • @iarestoopid88 I happen to be 22 as well, and I wonder... Will my kids/the next generation say Justin Bieber and lady Gaga are 'old' talents when they are 22? If they'd do that, they will be grounded for two weeks :D

  • @iarestoopid88 The worst thing is that Justin Bieber HAS musical talent. He can play a couple of instruments, all self-taught, but instead of putting it to use he puts out mindless pop-R&B crap. Oh well; whatever keeps the kid happy I suppose.

  • @iarestoopid88 quotations*

  • @iarestoopid88 I saw Robert Cray in concert at the Coogee Bay Hotel Sydney back in the early 90's. He was amazing!!! I fell for his music right there and then. He sounds wonderful up close and live....no imitations here folks. Purely sublime!!! As for these newer so called talent....Justin and Gaga...enjoy your 5minutes while it lasts. ViVa La !!!!

  • @iarestoopid88

There's plenty of talent around now it's just now played by the larger media institutions.

  • @iarestoopid88 is the only way you know how to compliment a genius is to insult other artists. So weak.

  • @iarestoopid88 Quotation marks.....but I get your drift

  • Wonderful ******

  • This song never gets old.........I love it!

  • love cray he is so smooth, have a listen too kulu change of heart video on youtube. Album no rider out i tunes now!!!

  • Most of todays generation (Y) are clueless to real music played by real talent. Yet they will defend their modern musical tastes with rudeness and profanity.

  • Rob rocks it!! So much good blues!!!

  • What is braindead Britney doing on the left side of the video?

  • good music.

Nowadays niggas make only gangsta rap

    sad but true

  • Smoking gutiar and a hellraising voice!!

  • @RobertCrayVEVO My teammate is 5'9 and dunking - WOOT! How can someone so short jump so high? look at 50-inch-vertical[dot]com

  • and who said black people didnt invent rock n roll

  • He has great talent for solos, but I love him for his voice

  • If my brothers like Smoking Gun, and if you are not already hip to it, take a taste of Robert's tune, "No One Special". That tune is KILLING ME! Especially the guitar solo. Soultastic.

  • I could listen to this cat ALL day......

  • @27wingnut : F*$k yeah, brother! Cray is like homemade ice tea, on the porch, after mowing the grass in mid-July.

  • seco, la cago....

  • Thanks man

  • He looks identical to Magic Sam as i remember him back in 1969.

  • assim não dá ! o cara toca com a corda arrebentada , ficou feio demais... repare no primeiro solo é muito sutil...gravaçao muito mal feita !

    mas o cara é bom !

so do not give! the guy plays with a rope busted, it was ugly too ...

note the first solo recording is very subtle ... very poorly made!

    but the guy is good!

  • Ditto above!

Would like to see more folks turned onto Bob.

Have seen him a few times and he knocks me out everytime!!

  • This guy is a B. B. King Remixed...

  • u kids today can have ur lady gaga (crap) & ke$ha (crap) even rihanna i'll take this real music

  • @Dracman Today people like shit... The World is over!!!!

  • My parents told me that when i was a baby and way crying a bunch, the only thing that would shut me up was putting me infront of the TV when a Robert Cray vhs was playing. I had some good taste in music as a kid.

  • @jamiewilson33 Robert Cray has that soothing voice like Sam Cooke. By the way you should watch Animal House and catch Robert playing behind Sam, talk about baby face. I think (I could be wrong) he appears to be extremely moodest at his shows to this day and I been following for some 20 years. I just saw him last 6/16/11

  • @jamiewilson33 Wish i could say the same, i was silenced by the Neighbours theme tune :(
