  • Anyone know what the MPG this vehicle gets?

  • the l.gear comes up incredibly fast

  • @ inagod.. Yeah, he has jumped from two of them. Once spin testing for the Airforce and once doing them missile simulations

  • Many people bought the farm in this nasty little bird

  • Red Bull air race should start using these.. XD

  • he needs to keep an eye on his lawn.

  • Wife: "What shall we do today honey?"

Husband: "Lets build the worlds smallest jet plane!"

  • You can buy one , it is a ( BEDE 5 ) but try to find a jet motor for it is hard , I had one that was in a box and took weeks to put together , well never found a motor so sold it to a guy in FL , now he is looken for a motor for it ,

  • @69Thejinx hmm, you can find engines for it "pretty easy", there are 3 for sale at the moment write in the google "Microturbo TRS-18 jet engines for sale" should direct you to homebuiltairplanes webpage and Orion's advert

  • Does anyone know if the cut footage from the James Bond movie exists any place?

  • if i had one of these, id take off from my road (wide, long and straight... perfect) land at stansted, re-fuel, fly to palmar in malorca, re-fuel again and fly to port polensa, touching down on the road where my familys holiday flat is, again a long and straight road. it be a dream come true

  • bail out twice!! hahah must be a differnt plane

  • two seats and i would buy one!

  • Finally No More mean flight attendants!

  • sweet

  • Man, I'd love to see this, or a plane like it, in an action film!

  • VV

  • they made it sound like he jumped out twice from the jet,I don't think so.

  • theres so many buttonz so i dont think i can contr..wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • anyone knows if its possible to by one of these? (im serious)

  • @youser990

    It's possible?

  • how much does it cost to make one?

  • Comment removed

  • @zxPivotManxz whore

  • @filip99896

hah! oh you think you're funny? trying to show off? it's not working..so run along troll..

  • @zxPivotManxz wanna fight huh im a keyboard warrior and proud of it nah im just kidding your a troll

  • @filip99896

Listen you're probably like 12 years old trying to be mr. badass. You know, you're only hurting yourself, I'm not gonna fight with a troll...so you can run along now.

  • @zxPivotManxz balls to you sir

  • @filip99896

    right back at you :)

  • @filip99896

you understand how immature we are acting over this? I'm sorry for whatever I did, but I'm really, going to stop arguing now.

  • @zxPivotManxz why stop when you can continue? :D

  • @filip99896

Because these things go on forever and I just don't feel like it..so truce?

  • @zxPivotManxz i declair victory for @filip99896!

  • @filip99896

Ok whatever. I'm goint to stop now, cya

  • @zxPivotManxz i require land to build my bases you shall now give it to me

  • i want it

  • @MeanestKitten Forget it kid you'll shoot your eye out.

  • if we had refueling stations over the atlantic at specific points you could fly one of these from over the atlantic. this aircraft prooves that machines can be built using very small mounts of materials. imagine if somethign like this had vertical takeoff capability also. this makes a cessna 172 look very inefficient in comparison

  • @210482fmj well actually, you'd be wrong about "cessna 172 look very inefficient in comparison" because the C172 has a range of 800+miles and this can only go 300+miles and also the C172 has 4 seats so really, it is more effiecient than the BD-5.

The downside to a cessna 172 is that you cant have 2 full tanks of fuel, and 4 PAX and even think about carrying luggage.

  • @s030141 WHERE have you seen a 172 that goes 800 miles? Try under 400 buddy LOL

  • whats amazing is that aircraft such as this can be built using far less materials than a family car. vehicles such as this proove aircraft use less materials in the manafacture process. the automobile is very inefficient compared to something like this when you compare them.

  • what about making somethign like this with the wings being much closer to the ground for increased ground effect. Imagine something like this but a disc shaped vehicle.

  • Lol hahahaha, Octopussy!!

  • Bad fuckin ass !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want one too

  • i want one!!!!

  • awesome!!

    Maxzilla21

  • Fkn death-trap

  • If he has had to bail out twice why is the plane still around? If he bailed out then no one would be controlling it and it would smash on the ground and be destroyed.

Also if the military used it in target practice it would also be destroyed.

They said there were only 2 of them so you can't say "Well he has a bunch of them in storage."

  • @dallase1 when they said "target practice" they meant locking radar/infared but not actually firing missiles.

  • Zoltan Bebto from Budapest . Hungary , Europe .

  • Notoriety is nice but why not normal lots of pilots would love to put stuff like this in their log books.

  • He bailed out twice? They built a new one?

  • I am not one hundred percent sure, but I think I saw this jet and saw it fly when I was younger at the N'AWLINS AIR SHOW in Belle Chasse, LA.

  • I couldn't fly a jet without an ejection seat. IF ANYTHING HAPPENS IN THIS THING, YOU ARE FUCKED.

I'd take the larger Gripen or F16 over this.

  • I wish they would give that to me for my flight training.

  • Radar Signature ?

  • @OlympianPierian

    Very, very small.

  • @dslcobra haha... Stealthy... ; )

  • @OlympianPierian

I'd rather have a BD-10 with an ejection seat.

  • if you know how you can easily build a plane of your own, having a jet engine on it might make it cost more, but building an aircraft airframe (same size as this plane or a little bigger) and all that (landing gear, flaps, hydrolics, etc etc) without the engine would cost you about 75 - 80 thousand dollars plus a few more grand for an engine. theres this guy i knew who was building a really small version of the F16 with a wooden body frame, i wonder how that turned out... : /

  • aw its cute loool i want it

  • How much does BD-5 or BD-5J cost?

  • Navajo 1:48pm MDTM

    NorthWestOfPhoENIXBB

    Navajo 1:48pm MDTM

  • Dear Santa....

  • Pure porn!

  • duude i totally gotta get me one of those

  • Commercial pilots need some time in one of these what do you think?

  • stupid

  • Its stuff like that that makes you realize this recession is fake...or fear.

  • @grubeci fuck you

  • There is a prop version of the plane located in EIWF, waterford airport and it is hangered by the aero club down there..

    South east of ireland

  • Technically this is the BD-5J, since it is the jet turbine version. BD-5 is the turboprop version.

  • americunts live in a god blessed world yet arent taking opportunties

  • this thing is bas ass

  • 25 years old they need to make a newer better one

  • omg i want 1

  • this air craft could make a great long range photo recon air craft as a slow mover adding two stinger missles and hand held puff the magic dragon rotateing connon and camera's, all branches of the service should imploy this air craft, cheep to operate small enough it would be hard to hit by gound forces,

  • More than 2 of these made, ive seen a couple of them in person.

  • The U.S. military should use this plane as a patrol plane for the USAF and the Navy. The Navy ones should have a hook so it can land on carriers. It's perfect!

  • landing gear went up fast.

  • @trdaredevilclips yeah so fast !!! hahah loooool

  • What engine does it use?

  • this is cool i wish i own one

  • i want one!!! :D

  • wow...

  • I WANT ONE HOW MUCH 0.0

  • @Calvert1212 If you have to ask, you cant afford it

  • sweetttttttttttttttt

  • Colomban quickly removed the jets from the Cri-Cri. The reason? The wings ribs are foam bonded to metal skins. The heat from the jets heated the skins enough to make delamination a real possibility.

  • goblin is smaller

  • so why does the military need such huge airplanes?

  • @lois341 to drop huge bombs with...

    :D

  • @Quokka57 lol

  • how does the landing gear go up so fast?

  • @BobbyPlane6252 It's hand powered. Lever in the floor between the pilots legs. Rated as the fastest cycling landing gear in the world. BTW, it's a side stick controller like the F-16, which is why it was possible to position the gear lever in the center.

  • Americans have a real flair fro making the most interesting things boring.

  • No, we just happen to be able to explain things better

  • @benboyyang

What do we have here? Another American bashing penis sizer.. I have never met such a jealous mob as the Aussies when it comes to the US.. They just can't help but talk shit like a bunch of tossers.

  • Nice toy.

  • seen u fly at mcguire AFB,openhouse in the 90s it was great!

  • What about the Colomban cri cri that was converted to jet power? It has 2 jets that are usually used by RC planes, a 16 ft wing span and weighs 171 Lb empty.

  • but instead of contracting him why donsent the air force buy them??

  • the air force bought them

  • @guille8001500

    really? how many?

  • i don´t know how many, but usaf use them to simulate a cruise misil.

  • @Alex31121234 probably because the aquisition process would cost them more money than it's worth then they would have to put men on it to operate it and maintain it which cost even more money. just makes it easier, and you don't have to ask congress for the funds.

  • hey how mcyh does it cost?

  • i bet in 100 years, kids will be flyin dat to school lol!

  • @x1expert1x And wot dey gonna fuel it wit???

  • @x1expert1x can you not spell "THAT" you fucken monkey!!!

  • @unfuknbelievable OK I SPELLED THAT WRONG MAYBE I DID IT ON PURPOSE YOU FUCKEN PENIS

  • @x1expert1x ikr!

  • @x1expert1x

Man, the kids had better clean themselves up in 100 years then cos i ain't givin one of these to a bunch of adolescent, alcoholic junkies.

  • Imagine putting a newer upgraded Microturbo TRS 60 (700+ Lb/Thrust) at only slightly more weight & size!! Damn rocket chasing speeds that is if the 'craft itself could handle the lateral G-forces & such? I've loved this little aircraft since I saw one at an air show a few years ago. Maverick Jets make some really nice personal jets as well, but I'm for the Experimental/Home-built variety, as that's got to be the ultimate joy in the fact you fly what your hands have built! Long live FREEDOM!

  • @HiJacked41 where can one purchase one of these engines? & how much does one cost??

  • @circusboy90210

If you have really good company/military connections you might be able to buy their updated TRI-Series turbojet-turbofan engines at a mere paltry 100k Euro's (TRI-40) if at all. Otherwise, I've seen these older TRS-18 units in documented good, low hour shape for $25-$40k USD on Ebay. Williams International has comparable small jet units they sell to upstart personal jet companies by contract, etc. If you've the money to afford one, you might be able to negotiate a private sale?

  • i want 1

  • it no longer has its engine... and no longer flies.... thanks guy.

  • 430 LBSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 HOLY SHIT look like a very fun ride

  • 230 lbs of thrust. at that weight its like a cruise missle you can fly in.

  • ck. out youtube bd-5 aircraft in miami.

  • bob looks and sounds like ron paul

  • it looks like it would break off anytime

  • give it some 9mm guns and add some fire crackers rockets and your rready for war!

  • @mjufpn

rofl you mean give it a .22 ruger and some roman candles THEN it would be ready for war

  • @mjufpn 9 mm is to small 12,7 will be more appropriate ;-)

  • At first glance, it doesn't look like it would be that fast, but that thing really hauls! A serious performance machine through and through..

  • See how quick those wheels go up after take off!

  • 1:57 "Honeyyy, I'm home!!"

  • Quick! Do a barrel roll!

  • god i want one

  • @CBlackjr

    build it.

  • What was the illusion they were talking about that was cut from the movie? And where can I see this footage? lol

  • Arizonian. Of course.

  • lol at 2:58 "yam yam like"...from the black country...lol

  • You and your wife buildt this?Does she fly too?Nice to see a side of America like this,I've done some skydiving in the USA

and this stuff gets in your blood.Keep it going I hope you find commercial building success with this kind of plane.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) why do we want to fly high-speed (supersonic) jet?

    (2) In term of personnal image, what is the difference between flying a jet plane and an propeller aeroplane?

    (3) Why do we want to design and to build new aeroplane like BD-5?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • Don't know, just give my eye teeth for ten minutes of stick time in one.

  • Why do humans want to go faster, higher and improve/make new designs to aircraft?

Because we are human. Tool use and invention are what make us different from the other apes.

  • @applesweeter it has nothing to do with psychology.

#1 it gets you there quicker.

#2 image?? who cares it get's you there quicker. it's safer & more dependable.

    #3 it's fun

#4 personal aircraft for individual use think of it as the moped for the sky.

  • Look at how fast the gears retracts!

  • where can you buy one of these?

  • I remember reading bout this when i was just a pup.... 30 years ago. you could get it prop powered too... even then the jet version was cubic dollars to buy, fly, insure.... lol

  • Me-163 is smaller

  • and it's not a jet

  • me-163 wasn't a jet, it was a rocket.

  • OWNED!

  • And the ME-163 was also based on a delta, with flight performance like a sailplane. The BD5 has almost a straight wing in comparison.

  • Amazing! It looks like the german ME-163 Komet.

  • About the only similarity is that they are both small. The 163 had a mid swept wing while the bd-5 uses a low wing. The exhaust of the bd-5 is much higher, the tail is different, more swept and with the horizontal stabilizer placed higher. The 163 was designed for near transonic speeds with a rocket engine, for gliding after the rocket was used up and didn't have landing gear, while this is just made to be a fun toy for rich people that hopefully won't get them killed.

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Wow that's so awesome! Love jets.

  • I think I heard that the landing gear are the quickest extending and retracing on this earth. Just watch is retract at 1:03 or 1:04.

  • A guy in the airplane hanger behind mine has one!

  • doesn't seem so hard to make.. i bet there are smaller designes by now.

  • Yep.

Someone retrofitted a "Cri-Cri" with a pair of super small turbine engines.

  • Freedom? what a shit of name, damned republican

  • A fascism plane will crash more.

  • it will not crash, it will be blowed up! XD

  • 2 hours flying time surprised me. I thought less than 10 minutes.

  • Same lol!

  • I know right? i would fly that thing every afternoon. Fuck if i was ever going to be late for work i would just take the mini-jet.

  • im sure there is a way to fit some hydra rockets to the wings...

  • WOW , THAT A NICE BD

    Thanks Jim

  • it weighs 430lbs? they have people that weigh that much its super lite. a yamaha raptor 700r weighs 422lbs and that is a four wheeler

  • its 250 lbs

  • yeah, nothing about Bede but some company bought the rights, etc, so that's business...it is a great jet though...bd-4, I think, had a pusher prop.

  • At 1:03, the gear retracts really fast.

  • i kno huh it looks fake because it goes so fast

  • it goeas fast since it is small.

  • I what one ... Ore simular

  • there a kit oing for cheap on e-bay

  • what is it speed??? per hour..knot??

  • 300 mph

  • Not a single mention of Jim Bede... pathetic.
