Consider a second-ever visit to Elizabeth City, NC on NOV. 22, 1994--the 31st anniversary of that dark day in DALLAS--the same day MAXwell P. PRESTON (023-78-3799) was born, but unrelated to the “fleeting glory of high school football”. AshTON J. THURMAN (407-47-2044) was born the same day. Unrelated: NFL Buffalo Bills RB THURMAN Thomas (b. 5/16/66) who had played in the most recent Super Bowl, XXVIII, in which the Dallas Cowboys beat his Bills, 30-13 at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome 296 days earlier
A second-ever visit to Elizabeth City, NC on NOV. 22, 1994, occurred on the same day WINTER Leann FOSTER (638-44-9814; d. 2010) & christopHE M. MOSLEY (637-44-8152; d. 2004) were born. Both died on JAN. 29—the date in 1964 that Buffalo Bills WR ANDRE DARnell Reed--teammate of Thurman Thomas--was born. Wikipedia says: U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City was commissioned on AUGUST 15, 1940—the same day 250-62-7325 was born. Super Bowl XXX WR Yancey D. Thigpen: b. Tarboro, NC--AUG. 15, 1969
haha yall are making it sound like ecity is some hard ass gangster town, "dont go out after dark if you are white" haha you must just be scared of the dark The scary black people must not like us lol i have never felt weird at being out at night. i have lived there my whole life and im now in greenville, which is 200% worse than ecity in crime. The real problem with ecity is all the narrow minded rednecks that wont let the city grow into its potential, and all the bible beaters.
turned into the exact opposite. Where my grandmother used to live used to be a great neighborhood. Now it's overrun with a bunch of scum.
It's sad that stereotypes come true but they sure as fuck did here. If you aren't black then stay away. If you are black just come on over get your drugs and run down what was once a decent town.
If you still want to move here make sure you move to the outskirts of the city. I live outside the city limits and really have no complaints about it.
lol Same way Sirsix. i used to live in Ny and i would visit Ec to see my relatives every year or so when i was younger, Now that they made me move down here i told them i would run away or such UnLess we lived outside of the city or away from the Ghettos... and they agreed ^_^
I love EC to death as it is my hometown and I have lived here most of my life.
But there is really nothing here you can't get somewhere else. Racism, crime, horrid school systems etc.
I'll also say as long as you avoid the bad parts of town (which isn't a problem seeing there is nothing of interest out there anyway) you really have no worries on that front.
It's sad though because you here stories from elders about how the town used to be something special and then it was..
I used to live there, the crime rate is horrible. Dont be caught in the city after sundown if your white. I had to move to give my kids an education without fearing school. The electric rates are through the roof to tax payers to make up for the high umbr of project housing. The city council can never agree on anything without making i a race issue. i have sen cops there fired for having sex with mentally challnged citizens. One cop was arrested in the lobby of the police dept. with warrants.
i know, i lived there too, i was only there for two years, and school system out there sucked, everything out there was based on race, it's like if you weren't black, then you weren't one of them, thats how i was treated at the time, i hated it
Kind of off-topic but related to the other comments: Not to mention that finding a good job here is terrible. This place is rife with nepotism. Forget having a good resume and excellent training; you have to know someone in order to get a good job (there are lots of families who get each other jobs on the Coast Guard base, and many of them don't even have the degrees or training required for the position).
So if you want to come to E-City, just come for a visit.

It's a horrible place, if it wasn't for the coasties, it would be an abandon ghost town full of sketchie people.
