Poor rural people coming to the cities looking for work.....sounds like the US in the early 1900's, eventually what will happen is the workers will unionize, labor will get too expensive, and that labor will gravitate toward cheaper alternatives. This whole globalization thing may have worked out fine, if the particular circumstances + living conditions in various places around the globe, would have been taken into consideration - and, as we now know, they WERE, but via further exploitation as the 'guiding' principle. @bluedragon826 (reply continued): the only option we have at this point, is to GRADUALLY ween ourselves off the obvious exploitations, which in itself, presents a large problem for industrialized societies. But it must be done, if the human species is to survive as a whole. We must remember, that even as a species, we are not all that special...much simpler organisms have survived millions of years. ok...didn't want to get all philosophical on you :) thanks !

This is really telling....that Steve Jobs just made excuses and corporate speak to minimalize what is happening. Sure other companies use Foxconn but Apple products are much more expensive than other similar products and Apple is sitting on billions of dollars in cash. Apple could easily spend a couple of million and give workers a little bonus here and there, but they obviously dont care.

Poor rural people coming to the cities looking for work.....sounds like the US in the early 1900's, eventually what will happen is the workers will unionize, labor will get too expensive, and that labor will gravitate toward cheaper alternatives. Given the cost of transportation, there is a very good chance that those jobs end up coming right back to the USA, IF our country allows our dollar to appreciate a bit. Low interest rates for ever is like going through life drunk and stupid.
