  • Is this for real?

  • @CafaroVids you should of liked this guy helped me aton!!! And yes i did like and subscribe

  • accidentally liked :C

  • Not really helpful. It's just this guy talking about a deck he built.

  • Lol i have exactly the same before I saw this!!!:O!

  • heres my deck -> green mana ramp with over runs and eldrazi , id list my deck but don't have the time , but if you understand green eldrazi decks and the tokens it gives you with the over runs its one of the best decks that i have ever seen also two Garruks and 4 skittering invasions . if you need a list of what i have in the deck send me a pm and ill let you know

  • EVERY FUKING EXPERT VILLAGE VIDEO SUKS ASS PLEASE PUT A LITTLE MORE EFFORT INTO YOUR FUKING VIDEOS "expert village video oh fuk well maybe itll be ok this time" HOLY SHIT IM SO TIRED OF YOU GUYS IF YOUR GUNNA GRAB A NAME LIKE THAT PUT IT INTO EFFECT GODAMMIT

  • expertvillage sucks big time.

  • LOL this video is like google image searcher! I search for a kitty image, a pussycat and it gives me a naked woman!

I don't say that i didn't enjoy the naked woman :)...But if i am searching for a kitty i want to get a fuckin' kitty!

  • @GeorgeMathewTV funny i searched both without safe search and i saw no nude woman

  • @poke931 yes you can play both in one turn. but they can not attack unless the create has haste

  • Lets say you have three lands. You have a creature in your hand that needs 2 lands to bring out and 1 creature in your hand that needs 1 land card to bring out. Can you bring out both creatures in one turn? Please answer answer back. XD Thanks in advance.

  • @poke931 yes. you can play more than 1 creature per turn. you can play infinite spells per turn. there is no maximum. you have to have the lands (mana) to play them, however.

  • expert village could u make a videos how to wipe your ass after shitning plz it would really help me out

  • @epcwnz u hav probz with that too?? helppp expert village!

  • @danielkirk1 no not really but expert village makes a vid for everything

  • @epcwnz I was being sarcastic as well.

  • this is one of hundreds different ways to make a deck. This is nonsense there is nothing here at all.

  • don't bring that deck on a plane...

  • This video blows!

  • What is this? I don't even...

  • Damn i hate expertvillage so much :::::

  • Is it possible to build an effective deck with +60 cards like 65 maybe 70 right now my deck is sitting at 65 because im having probelems finding balance at 60

  • @XXdrunkenxx87 It can be effective, but it won't be optimal.

  • it's funny how expert village has the WORST how to videos ever. you'd think a channel made for the sole purpose of doing how to videos would have decent videos... but damn was i wrong. my 4 year old brother can explain this stuff to me better than this guy.

  • All I heard was "Beating down your opponent as fast as you can..." ... O.o

  • If anyone actually wants to learn how to build a deck, message me and I'll set you up with some resources or talk to you in person. I'm a competitive deck designer with a pretty sweet track record, and I absolutely love deckbuilding. :)

  • How does that tell you how to build a deck at *all*?

Sorry. Not close, and no cigar.

  • Broken in Vintage

  • I would expert more from "Expert" Village. You should take down this video and research a little more about who you ask to make the video. FYI he didn't even make this deck. That means, he has NO idea why the cards are there. All he keeps repeating is... Overwhelm your opponent(duh), lots of creatures, and then he reads off card effects.

    No insight at all

  • Well that was a fucking waste of time. Thanks again "Expert" Village!

  • captions = lol

  • expertvillage just posts shit videos. they never actually do what the title says.

  • this video is so wrong.

    60 is averge and maximum

40 is what the decks come as.

41-59 is what you have before you get 60.

    narb

  • @KiropLokiIncarnate I was just gonna say yeah 40 is min 60 is max.

  • @SkyHighT26 ummm, dude, I bought two decks, both came with 60 cards....... 60 is the min and recommended number of cards and 120 is the maximum for tournament play for most tourneys. 40 is what people play when they attempt to build decks and can't afford 60 cards and people let them off with it cause it isn't a serious game. Look it up on wizards.com. All the rules are there. Plus, my Deckbuilder's toolkit box (which I bought for the mass amount of cards) comes with a rule book. 60 minimum :)

  • @DarkDragon9275 Your right. I looked on the website the day I posted that. Found out all the rules. I usually made a 40 card deck just to bumrush my opponents(Phyrexian, Poison Kinda guy). Its gonna be a little trickier with 60.

  • @SkyHighT26 lol, yeah, I know what ya mean, but its still pretty easy with the right cards, I run a burn deck (red Spell-heavy) with about 62 cards (2 extracause I couldn't decide, lol), but it can easily win in about 5 turns or so (give or take) in a one-on-one duel, 2 headed giant takes a little longer, especially depending on who my partner is is :P but yeah, choose the right cards and a poison deck can be lethal. got a buddy who runs an average of 6 or 7 turns with his and he has 60 cards

  • @KiropLokiIncarnate wrong, 60 min, 120 max for tourney, and all decks come preconstructed with the 60 card min. Check it on wizards.com. Rules are all there

  • ok, i have had a lot of those snake creatures and i used to have a deck made mostly of them, but i never knew that there was a preconstructed deck made of them! can anyone tell me what its called?

  • @MrRazorblade123 Champions of Kamigawa Theme Deck: Snake's Path.

  • i'm new to magic so tell me if i am wrong but daughter and son of seshiro on the field together wouldn't it kill them both so really theres no balance of #/#

  • @Americaneagle981 Actually yes, you are wrong. The legend rule applies only if two of the same legendary card are on the field at the same time. Because the Son and Daughter are two different Legendary creatures, they will not destroy each other.

  • @Americaneagle981 Actually that's not true they have to be the same card for them to destroy one another not the same sub type. That rule is for planeswalker cards. So I can have Sosuke and Sachi both on the feild. Just can't have two of either one on the field at the same time.

  • could somebody give me a list of cards for a really good snake deck, thanks

  • ok this guy fails epicly. snake decks suck. when building a deck you want 60 cards because you pull the cards you want faster. green decks are based around big creatures and just smashing down your opponent. this deck needs 4 overruns or 4 overwhelming stampedes. eldrazi monument would be pretty beast too. problem with this deck is if i play red you lose from pyroclasm and other commons. if i play white wrath of god kills you and there are to many other ways round this deck

  • @JakeTheSnake2195 You do realize this video was created in 2007? Long before Overwhelming Stampede was printed. Same thing with Eldraze Monument.

  • What is a good number of cards for a deck?

  • @xcookiemonsterstudio Im still a newcomer but I'd say stick to 60. You'll have better success with a small deck. It'll be easier to draw the cards that you want. If you want deck ideas check out mtgvault.

  • @Verazze K cool

  • @xcookiemonsterstudio Always want to go with the 60 minimum. that way you have a good chance of drawing the cards you need.

  • I have a question. Can one tap an infinite amount of swamps to grant a card like Frozen Shade an X amount of +1/+1 until end of turn. For instance, the card begins as a 0/1, but if i tp 4 mana on it does that mean he is a 5/4 until end of turn?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • @EndlessStarfall Yes, you can give frozen shade +1/+1 as many times as you wish for that turn, so he will be 5/4 with 4 mana (there are some other cards though where it specifically states that you can only use this ability once or twice a turn)

  • @mowtr Thanks alot

  • I play with a Orochi deck and it was painful to watch this. He half ass explains everything. For example, the legendary creatures he shows. They don't just give a +1 boosts. Sosuke gives all warriors you control the ability that if they do damage to a creature it gets destroyed at the end of combat, and Sachi gives all shamans you control ability to produce 2 green mana if you tap them. This isn't a strategy video. These are tips you can get if you read the player's book.

  • This guy has a horrible deck and doesn't know shit. Expert village needs to get multiple forms of advice instead of just finding random morons.

  • is good this mobie i'm bery like the men is the bery good

  • i think only a mono-green deck would be centered around creatures even then not really "centered" around creatures.

  • hey thats my deck =D

  • I RATHER READ THE TIPS FROM THE PREBUILD DECK THAN THIS SHIZ!

  • not only does expert village suck at making guitar tech videos but also magic videos

  • i thought 40 is minamum

  • "In building a deck you really want to make your creatures the main character of the deck." Umm.. Ever played Blue? :)

  • He got paid for this shit?

  • Expert? Where's expert?

C'mon dude, you can't explain how a PRECONSTRUCTED deck (btw no more a standard deck) can win. You should explain instead which kind of deck creates, the way they win,key cards and how to counter those deck.. Honestly if expert village can do just this, please stop doing mtg videos; they are useless if made in the wrong way

  • expert village knows shit don't listen to this, first off you can only have 4 of each land in your deck it's only basic land you can have as much as you want of and creatures are not the most important thing in your deck it completely depends on what type of deck it is, most really succsesfull decks play no creatures at all.

  • I read "Deck Building Strategies"

Strategy - a plan, method, or series of maneuvers or stratagems for obtaining a specific goal or result.

All I heard was "you want to overwhelm your opponent."

You need to describe the different ways to win the game and then work from there. You can't explain deckbuilding strategies in four and a half minutes. expertvillage, please stop making videos, especially those of Magic: The Gathering.

  • Pfff...unfortunately, although creatures are centered on in a lot of decks, a lot of experts have white-blue control decks that have 9 or less creatures, sometimes none other than planeswalkers, especially with Rise of the Eldrazi. So centering your deck on creatures isn't completely true.

  • expert village has a little bit of everything, but everything they have seems to be crap.

  • In a snake deck you probably also want to have "Endless Swarm". It can totally overwhelm ur opponent.

  • umm expert village do us a favor and dont make anymore mtg videos because your just teachingt us small bits of how to play and commenting on the use of the snakes path kamigawa deck.

  • @videoscryer correct allthough... I actually made a deck looking a lot like this but it wasn't on purpose ;)

  • an element is a mountain, plains, islands, ext.

  • well who here plays at those Booster Drafts? i think i'm going to one next week :) i think it is a fun idea that you can keep the deck you build from those boosters i want some good cards for it lolz...

  • i found a couple magic cards in my junk pile that i bought a couple years back so i just started putting together a deck mostly black &red(primary:black, secondary:red)so yea im still kinda new but from what i understand i think i can do pretty good with this game:)

  • i have ALL the elements and 806 cards and i started collecting them in late december 2009

  • @flyingstone0 What's an element?

  • @therealKINDLE there is no maximum there is a minimum

  • uhm... am i missing sth? where is the "Deck Building Strategies"? i see a guy commenting on a preconstructed deck...

  • @yced101 I think he meant that he made this deck before making this video.

  • @Dratika No I think the guy seriously was just showing off the cards in the Champions of Kamigawa preconstructed deck "Snake's Path".

  • i find his tutorials good but he sounds very dull when hes talking.

  • i have a black green deck i wanna put it up against a white blue deck that would be a good game

  • @MrioXZ your right it would

  • i have a green white red deck and it has 60 cards and 7 each color and each type exept white only has 6 of each and it has at least 3 or 4 combos that can win the game within 2-3 turns its pretty nice

  • creatures are not the main part of a deck, at least for red and blue.... the deck im building is gonna have 60 cards at which maybe 10 will be creatures.

  • if you're making your own deck, and not even regarding this advise, then why are you even watching it?

  • idk? im bored? and maybe i thought he was actually good.

  • i opened like 3 packs of shards of alara today.... i'm never gonna find a elspeth.....

  • whant a hint ...dont buy shards of alara they are the gayest packs ever

you should try morningtide or from the same series.

  • I'm planning to do a heavy damaging deck, the one that directly damages the opponent without relying on the creatures attacking. can anybody recommend me something?

  • I would do a direct damage, as saying when you play it it deals damage to a player, and it is really effective

  • know any creatures that might deal damage without attacking?

  • well there is Spark Elemental, Hellspark Elemental and you can just look up some red cards that arent creatures but do damage

  • well, got a set of hellspark, plus I used it's sacrifice effect as a combo to Hissing Iguanar. goes pretty well actually!

  • try spearbraecker behimoth(i am prety chure there is a mistake in the name)

  • naw, I'm doing a black-red deck. plus i don't have that much 5/5 and above creatures, my cards can't support them.

  • good its normal that you dont have 5/5 cause the good part for the blacks is not destroi your oppenent with cards stronger than his but negate them(terror, and all the other cards that destroi youor oppenent creature without sheking the power or defence)

  • the only 5/5 creature i had in my deck is a shivan dragon and a hellkite charger.

  • currently workin on a drake deck after i found out a combo to get basically infinite +1/+1 counters lol

  • Any infinite combo will end in a draw :(

  • red white deck fast defense with a life burn element i beat a heavy powered sliver deck today (i hate slivers) with no trouble at all just white defense and survival with red spells!

  • L2make a video

  • I use to have that deck, but m more a fire player anyway :)

  • i love my fire deck i got fireball lightning bolt walls dragons and more it so fare is 28-0 havent lost yet and no im not playing noobs

  • BOOO Red Decks. Blue and black are the anly way to go!!!!!! lol :P

  • @contotaly: I actually play a pretty awesome white-based deck... every color has its bonuses...

  • lol

  • counterburn is better

  • oh yea true, he didnt really told us how to make a deck.....

  • I think he wasn't suppose to tell you "how" to make decks, its just the strategies for making a deck I think =P

  • typical kamigawa cards -> crap

  • Uhm...... He didn't explain how to make decks. ROFL

  • Think what you want, he would rape you in both type 1 and type 2.

  • Wow. This guy is an idiot tard. Why does expert village have a bunch of scrubs doing their videos? Oughta change their name to scrubvillage.

  • lol

  • But if u just want to dink around with some friends and play a little magic u gotta have a 40 card minimum in your deck.

  • 60*

  • thank you.

  • i dont feel that he's talking about building a deck rather than talking about that snake deck

  • Limit is 60 Cards. But you can have as many cards as possible as long it is above 60. And SMyD7777, he not saying that all decks are based around creatures, he is saying that the Snake strategy is.

  • so in a Pro Tour match...how many cards can you have? up to 100?

  • well it depends on a pro tour and an EHD deck, the ehd deck has to have 100 cards, 1 legendary, and you cant have any duplicates of any cards so i hope that helps you

  • wht about banned cards...do they ban overpowered cards from each new expansion the next year or sumthing...cause i have a banned card which is almost as equally powerful as Tomogoyf...and i dunt see why Tomogoyf isnt banned as well

  • ya you could put as many cards as you want in your deck but the minimum amount is 60, and decks aren't all based around creatures, this guy doesnt know what hes talking about

  • Wow, an Expert Village video longer than two minutes?

  • im confused is there a max limit on your library

  • needs to be able to be shuffled basicly... thats it

  • no there isn't

  • nope.

  • Not literally, but the larger the deck, the harder it is to play. Having more than 60 cards makes it harder to pull the cards you need.

  • 75?

  • There us no "limit", although you need to know your cards wisely and have a good selection of cards, as the more cards you have, the harder it is to draw rare cards that have like 5/5 or something, so it won't be as easy to destroy your opponent's cards fast and easy. Although there are advatnages of having more because you can have more creatures and more possiblities, and even knock out legendaries.

  • bad qality

  • Cool I have a cleric angel deck. was going to add some black clerics and fallen angel but didnt want to add black mana for three cards.

  • you actully should add the mana, as there is no limit to how many cards you have in a deck.

  • isn it 60? or dont you and the opponet have to have teh saem amount of cards in a deck?

  • You could have a thousand cards in your deck and your opponent could only have 60. It would be stupid and a crappy deck, but it would be legal.

  • Defensivelax, ..actually you could not have that many cards in a tournament because the rules state that you can have as many cards as you like as long as it does not require assistance to shuffle.

  • what is that XX mana cost on the hatchery? how does that work

  • you have to pay X twice as in what you make X you have to pay double that.

  • i especially liked how one of the legendary creatures let all his snakes produce mana. he could use that with the hatchery card, also to pay for it to make it a high number of tokens every time he uses it.

  • i thought it was pretty cool

  • Deck building strategies? This video covers only one strategy (precon snakes)... a poor strategy at that.

  • An error in this video:

A standard deck can range from 40 - 120 cards. So 56 is a legitimate deck size. The perfered deck size is 60 cards. That is not a required size.

  • its 60 to 250 at my local cardshop. i dont play officially like for real tournaments.

  • ...

For Constructed tournaments, the minimum is 60 cards, and there is no maximum. For Limited tournaments the minimum is 40 cards and there's NO maximum.

Unless you're a time-traveler from the past or I happened to have forgotten my info.

  • 2007 is the past

  • Hehe, ok! =P

  • I just started playin Magic. I bought a started set which said I had everything to start playing. I got 56 cards, which isn't a full deck, and I also have 8 creatures that I can't summon because I don't have any green lands. Figure that one out.

  • buy booster packs. or get lands from card shops

  • yeah, we did that, but it's kind of funny how it says it's a pre made, ready to play deck. It's almost like buying a car without a steering wheel.

  • lol you are right, but if anyone has ever told you.. dont believe everything you read :D

  • do you have any spell's aka artifact's creature's instant's other in the deck i bet there is they dont scruyou unless you bot it from a nonlagit plays

  • Yeah, there are, actually a couple of the spells also require a forest land card, and I didn't have any forest land. I just found it funny how it's not a fully playable deck. We fixed it though, and built a 3rd deck as well.

  • hmmm maybe the deck was not ment to be that way thay might have not had card's that did the same thing in the set so they had to compensate

  • WTF?!

Was it an intro pack or what? Did you add cards from the booster included (if they're from "outside" colors, you shouldn't), or are you forgetting that Basic Lands aren't the only ones that can add a respective color of mana? I'm asking because I don't know what's exactly the problem. It should work just fine the way it's sold. I've never heard this complaint before (also, your deck could have been packaged wrong, so there's that... lol, longpost)

  • The puzzling thing was that it was 2 starter decks, with the booster packs included. Neither deck had ANY forest, one was a black and white deck, the other a blue and red deck. some of the lands were selectable, but none of them included a forest in the selection. Anyway, it's not a problem anymore, we bought a tournament deck and several other lands and built 3 custom decks.

  • well why would you need a forest if none of the decks were green?

  • I needed a forest because a couple of the creatures required a forest in order to be summoned. There were also a couple instants that required a forest. Since there were no forests in the deck, those cards were useless to me until I bought some forests and remedied the problem.

  • imo spells r the critical part of magic creatures arent AS important but their still defintly important...

  • burn, conuner, kill, and sliver decks are cheep and so thats why it owns because its cheep make a real deck and stop playing noobie ones

  • that is not true when he says creatures are the most importent part i have a 7 creature deck that owns cause its a burn so the spells are more important in that case so i hope thay make another video or put a text comment saying that he said that wrong.

  • It completely depends on what deck and what cards we talk about. A deck can, theoretically, win without having a single creature in it, but most of the time it will be easier with creatures, either because they're big and powerful, or because of their abilities or whatever. It's possible to make a great deck with no creatures, and it's possible to make a great deck with no sorceries or instants.

  • 20 - 25 mana issnt that alot? the 20 i get but if i try to do a 25mana deck wel,let us say i cant pull that one off.

i use 18-22 mana and it works so i realy dont know why an extra 3 mana shuld be used.

can someone help me with this question?

  • It depends on what deck you're running. The norm is 24 lands and 36 other cards, but increasing or decreasing on the number of lands is usual too. For instance, aggro decks don't need that many lands, because their spells are usually pretty cheap. On the other hand, most control decks need quite a bit of mana, as they have a tendency to play huge spells, with equally huge mana cost.

  • When he says that creatures should be the main part of the deck he is wrong. One of my best decks has only ten or eleven creatures in it and it has never failed me.

  • its for the type of deck/strategy he uses... i think

  • this didt teach me any thing

  • I'm gonna have to disagree.

I think the Rat's Nest deck from BOK is the best, for no other reason than the fact that it comes with a Jitte ^_^

  • my uncle used to make custom gob decks and sell em for idk how much but he sed he got like 300 bucks or sumting like that i would probly make a dragon deck or you know the jedit guy ? his warriors

  • That's a good deck, but this video didn't change my deck building at all.

  • take out the 2 kashi tribe warriors and 2 sasuke tribe elders and put in 4 might of oaks. thats wat i did and now my decks kick ass

  • i think that deck is from the champions of kamiwaga snakes path

  • he says it is a pre-con in the start of the video..... but yeah that is the deck

  • Wow this deck is terrible
