The difference is, this lady has obviously studied the 14th and you haven't at all. That's what makes her a constitutional lawyer. @Cosmo1093 What's wrong with that? For starters, immigration is a FEDERAL legal matter, local and state cops aren't supposed to address it, and shouldn't. Also, we've seen proof for years that cops target people of color, stopping people just for driving while brown or black, now this just gives them more power to harrass. Saying "racial profiling is prohibited" is a joke, this law gives them a free pass.
We'd all be much safer if immigrants had drivers licenses, but fear overrules safety

There is nothing that prohibits police detaining illegals and handing them over to I.C.E. either. Is that why so many Hispanics are in support of this law too? Legal immigrants are some of the staunchest supporters of laws against illegals.
They're driving illegally. They broke ANOTHER law on top of illegal entry. It's another great reason to catch and deport them.

They are driving illegally, we should change that law and give them licenses. How the hell are they supposed to get to work? Get their kids where they have to go? These are families with the same needs as everyone else, instead of hating them we have to accept they're part of our communities and do what makes ALL safer, and reform these unjust laws.

Doesn't that kill the whole point of laws? I mean, if enough people do heroine, cocaine, or meth, does that mean the government should legalize that?
Plus, Illegals don't need to get to work because it is against federal law to even hire them.
The laws here are more "just" than Mexico's. Every 1st world country has STRICTER laws.

@ColumbiaCowboy You'll see numbers like that on CNN, ABC, Fox News, and FAIR. It is NOT a lie, illegal children alone steal 12 billion from the education system (K-12), and anchor babies steal another 17 billion. 29 billion from JUST THAT, not counting food programs at schools.
What about emergency healthcare? Hospitals can't turn them away, correct?
On top of that, it costs 3.3 million per day for the incarceration of the illegals in our prison system, as they do make up 30% of all inmates.

Illegals deserve NOTHING that comes from tax money, especially if they take more than they give. Plus, schools now have to work around their lack of knowledge in English. That takes away from American students' educations.

@ColumbiaCowboy Yes illegals DO receive welfare. Is that hard to believe or something? The illegal parents are able to collect benefits because of their anchor babies too. FAIR says that for welfare alone, illegals costs 11-22 billion.
Plus, how exactly would they pay more in? Many are paid under the table, and therefore do not have to pay taxes, aside from sales tax. Those who aren't paid under the table rarely make enough to even be legitimately taxed.

That leaves over $10 billion more to be paid by Americans, a total of $2,700 going to EACH ILLEGAL HOUSEHOLD. Plus, that's only from the federal government and is not counting the costs on state governments. That's only in 2002 and there were less than 9 million illegals in 2003. Now, there are 12-20 million.

The Office of Strategic Planning & Results Management in the Minnesota Department of Administration outline the costs of educating illegals as far north as MINNESOTA.
Standard & Poor's (a division of McGraw-Hill) says educating illegal children costs 11.2 BILLION per year. That's of 2006.
How's that for sources?

@Cosmo1093 The man is LYING. It is ILLEGAL for undocumented immigrants to receive foodstamps, and NOBODY is getting what was called "welfare" in the past, after Clinton's "reform" the program ENDED, taken over by AFDC, which again is NOT given to undocumented immigrants.
The so-called "costs" of educating them is a sick, stupid complaint. EVERY CHILD has the right to an education, this is a RIGHT, not a "cost". And the cost to our society of NOT educating them is far, far higher.
