@ha1ofanII7 terrible throw??? when you're being marked and you're able to throw underneath the arm/hand block for a point? Have you played much ultimate? Watch some of the world juniors (read: americans vs. ANYBODY) and you'll see a ton of these throws being made. VERY valuable throw to know how to do, and experience from playing will prove when to throw these and when not to (read: air bounce huck).
great vid, i can do all those throws and more, the thummer, the bouncer, the discus, and one me and my friends call the bill throw, i love ultimate Frisbee, 5 stars man!
wow great vid i love ultimate and i can do all those throws plus one, the bouncer, no good in a game but its cool at the right angle you can get it to bounce off the pavement
i though you throw it like that when the wind blow toward you. as you throw the disc, you push it down, at an angle upward or not. b.c. the wind take care of it
Yeah, basically you spin it more and throw it straight but angled upwards, so going against the angle gives it the push upwards. It does take a few throws to get used to, as easy as it sounds.
Use a control grip ( regular backhand with finger along side) push down with your thumb as you release. and put a good amount of spin with the finger along the side.
i throw that as well and its my farthest throw but i dont use it in games cuz a forehand is much better in games. i thought that throw was called a laser though, cuz i thought a thumber was something similar to a hammer...
I love ultimate frisbee! its really really new in New Zealand, but luckily one of our teachers at school used to play for the Canadian national side, and has got us started! its great fun, and we're still learning. Lol
p.s i could not do a FOREHAND throw if my life depended on it!!!
Ill have to say the neglected to give mention to the thumber (also known as the beach throw) and no attempt even at catching behind the back (worth 2 points in some leagues.
forehand/flick/sidearm: all the same thing.. once more for all viewers, I never intended on making a clip with all throws, just me and a friend goofing around :)
well, you're right. I wasn't planning to make this clip but since I had the footage I thought I might as well make a short movie out of it. Unfortunately no other throws at this point. maybe next time ;)
Man, I know a thing or two about frisbee on a cold winter's day... And, my movie's on youtube as well! Sadly, we have nobody else to play with. Good stuff.

@ha1ofanII7 scoober uses the same grip as the hammer/flick but it's from the opposite shoulder, and not over the head
krnm4n14c 1 year ago
you can perfectly throw an airbounce in windy conditions, as long as you release it very low.
And that throw is spelled 'scoober' :)

u guys are really good. Could you please make a video with more forehand throws? I'd really like to see more so that I can copy your throwing motion.

the hammer (overhead) is a pretty easy throw if you know how to do it
rjcollins72 3 years ago
the very first throw, its seems like its pushing itself higher as it goes, how do you do that
huyiy 3 years ago
it's a combination of lots of spin and the right angle of release. If done more extreme it's referred to as an air-bounce.

fatcow69moose 2 years ago
Just press down with you thumb at the release and aim slightly down and the pushing of the thumb will make it bounce up. its called an air bounce.

is it just me or ultimate frisbee's seem to fly more smoothly than a rgular frisbee?
BFCage 3 years ago
well, they are just the regular 175 gram disccrafts, if thats what you mean. maybe the slowmotion make the flight appear more smooth ;)

There's an ultimate team at my high school, but there are a lot of pot-heads on the team. Even so I still love to play ultimate with them.

yeah, sometimes the two go together.. but if they play hard and fair, it's such a cool sport.

that overhead is a "hammer" what about the thumber, scoober, chicken wing, high/low releases. You look like you know what your doing.
