The Andantes voices were added to most of the recordings at Motown to enrich the sound,not just The Supremes. They may be in there but Mary and Flo are there too. Knock off the "Ross centered propanda" and enjoy the legendary SUPREMES, the greatest female recording group in America and the most famous American group of the 1960's. When you see Diane as a solo act today and she sings the Supremes songs, she is being backed up by phony Supreme background singers. Why don't you complain about that?

most of the Christmas songs are with the Andantes - Stop! In Name of Love has them and Any Girl in Love are the only songs i can think of that have the Andantes on them (w/ The Supremes)

The recordings of most of the artists at Motown have the Andantes on them to enrich the sound. What's your point and WHO CARES?? In general, even today, extra voices are added to ALL recordings either electronically or by actual numbers od people singing. They're not given credit on the reoocrd. Why is this such an issue for you?

Well, when I hear a song by the legendary Supremes or any of the Motown artists, I am not thinking of The Andantes nor is anyone else other than "Ross as a solo act" fans who are trying to minimize the contributions of Flo and Mary. The Andantes are no different than a drum or a horn in the arrangement placed there for enrichment, nothing more. They are not there to be recognized or acknowledged. In this case, the recordings are recognized as THE SUPREMES!

Any Girl in Love nor Stop. has the andantes. diane is singing in the background for a fuller affect for both those songs. all three supremes are singing backin on any girl in love. as well as Silver Bells and Born of Mary...the andantes were not used until 1967. on this lp there are session singers not necessairly the andantes. but on the songs you mentioned. its pure diane mary and flo. on the real old stuff..1963-67

it is true, the andantes did most of the vocals on this album, even on flo's silent night its the andantes backing her not mary and diana. however this is one of the few songs that feature mary and flo ALONG with the andantes...its mary and flo that sing the first set of 'look out santas coming' in the intro that the andantes come in with the harmonies

Their is a biography by The Andantes, and they talk about how both Flor & Mary aren't on the album, it may be true either they were and their vocals were rerecorded over, or it's not them at all

There's also the latest Diana Ross biography by Randy Taraborelli (who should know), which states that she complained that she did "about 90%" of that album by herself and the Andantes (don't know if Mary & Flo were vacationing or what.) But give a good listen to "White Christmas" and tell me it's not the Andantes. And I am as disappointed as everyone else to find out it's not DMF.
