I was more into Nas as a teenager, and underwent the things teenagers do. Now that I'm 21, I'm feeling Jay more. Nothing else can convey the mood of a maturing, ambitious young man quite like Reasonable Doubt.
why is everyone hatin' that he switched up his style? c'mon people, really? this was 14 years ago. of course he's not gonna rap exactly the same as he used to. he's the richest rapper to ever live. his net worth is more than 450 million dollars. seriously, you think if he was still rappin' about slangin' and clappin' gats that people are really gonna believe him? and why would he even want to lie in his rhymes? it's a good thing he switched up styles. he rapped sick then and he still raps sick.
Jigga got the lyricist skills but he chooses not to use em anymore. What a shame. I mean, I understand he's been in it for years and can't keep rapping about the same shit it's hard but he lost his old school style he's now a mainstreamer.
i blacks out, i pulls the macks out i scream whats that baout then i clap out. "don't even ate on those who hate me i got pac on" this is sick. he is so good stop comparing two classics and enjoy guys
"all my niggas that say pause after they say some fucked up shit" son...thats the definition of Trend-Setting. My dude Jay-Z was saying pause before dudes even knew what that meant. Nowadays dudes wanna be like "pause" son, Jay was saying pause in the 90's my dude.
the beat is sampled from 24-carat black's song mother's day.... all those who want the beat or whatev.. you could just sample that and make a beat out of that... just a suggestion...
i was just thinking that today when i was listnein to it and jay was like 27 which is crazy to...i didnt know he was that old when he dropped resonable doubt
This is jay- z's best album of all time...hands down!!! love it ;) He freestyles EVERY song for real...and every line means so many things..S.carter=genius
na but thats y hes awesome though, he doesnt write shit down, he started the process of remembering his raps when he was younger and he can remember whole verses like that, it just comes easy to him, he was just born to do this shit and is obsessed with being the best, thats y hes the greatest
I really love this song. It doesn't even share the same vibe that the rest of Reasonable Doubt does. This sounds more like 2000-2003 rap. So ahead of his time.
first one was mello maybe ma favorite jigga joint ever... but this joint just get me going kid i just turned 18 and this joint was it at ma birthday and ma lile brother's 5 nd he loves both of em... lyrically first one's a masterpeace "dreams of gettin creme lets do this it gets tidious so i keep one eye open like cbs... u c me stresss RIIIIIIGHHHH cannn i livee"... 2nd joint was just on some hood anthem type ishh "dont even hate on those who hate me i got PAC on, FEELLIN IT FEEELIN IT"
@purdue2009 i agree dat the first one is better, but do u really think its the best rap song ever!? Reasonable Doubt alone has Dead Presidents and Brooklyns Finest and even D'evils. maybe these are not better but they all are so good i couldnt really pick one over the other (except MAYBE Brooklyns Finest) not 2 mention the many other sick songs Jay-Z has like City is Mine, Lucky Me, & way too many 2 name. i feel he has at least a couple songs better. but its ur opinion & its all good. jus sayin
hova is grown ass black man music. hell na i cant reach up to that.
