This is a very nice car. I have a 1979 928 non-turbo but I don't know if it runs or not. I got it in a trade for my '73 Benz (which did run). I went on the word of my friend that the car does run but haven't had the time, money, or key to find that out. It sits beside my '83 944 non-turbo which runs but needs many things
@blown0883 They are very good, and there are things to know also, that 4 one it wants 1 liter oil one every full tank off gas, since its a race car a real 24 h / full speed car, it´s made too last, and most "noobs" they don´t know the car has a non slip difff,,dooh burnouts will fail, and its having a passive rear wheel steering ,it'ss 4 longjourneyss kind of car in high speed the whole day long..Speed cruiser, np
@blown0883...I have owned two 928's over the past 8 yrs or so. Both '89's, one an S4 and a Gt and they are very reliable as long as you follow the routine maintenance procedures. The transmissions are typically rock solid due to the fact the autos were made by Mercedes but for me the manual really is the one to choose. You just don't see that many 928's around and the 911 guys hate them because they're more comfortable...and faster too...Happy hunting...
The 928 Porsche was a pure Porsche. In other words it had absolutely no designs from Volkswagon (Rear Engine). The 928 was designed and built on 100% Porsche idealogy with the intent of replacing the 911 as a superior piece of engineering , which it was in all respects. All 1980's Porsche the 924, 944, and 928 all corner and handle better than most 911.Only the 911 has ever been called the "widow maker". Go figure, Its emotionalism versus engineering.
@blown0883 I own a '88 S4 very reliable only if you drive it often. If you plan on only driving it every second weekend I would keep away from them haha. But amazing cars none the less
The only mods to the car were the installation of the Murf928 supercharger kit and an "X" pipe put in the stock exhaust system. There's a video of an otherwise stock GT with a Murf928 kit and an "X" pipe installed on it posted on Google video
