That is terrible. Yes, admitting you is racist is honest, and you should try to divorce yourself from irrational ideas like racist ones. But to say that people who are offended by racist jokes need to "lighten up" only contributes to the problem. "Everyone laughs at them," that they're OK? That is just stupid. Racist jokes are racist, period. Please explain how merely admitting one's racism will create harmony.
