FFVII isn't the best, it's good but it's not great. I suppose it's so popular and memorable because it was the first FF for a new generation of gaming. Deep storyline, SOME likable characters, and Nobuo Uematsu's score is amazing. But overall, I think it's overrated and people only consider it the best because that's the one that started the hype...

If you're asking me: VI, VIII, IX, X and XII are better than VII.

Crisis Core is apart of the VII series, thats why its techincally called Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Just like Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. Thats why they did that. But anyway FFVII is still in the top ranking of all games. Not just my opinion, but the stats. Its the story, characters, depth, meaning behind it all, and all the symbolism they used.

i hate to burst any sort of final fantasy bubble but this crisis core soundtrack seems to be messed up. firstly THIS song, the tune is 'bombing mission' from ff7 but the title is a tune off ff8, when you wake up as laguna in winhill and elone is talking to you. they seem to have just lazily rehashed title with music.

2ndly, the tune entitled 'flowers blooming in the slums' i assumed would be a reworking of 'flowers blooming in a church' from ff7 but it is just aeris' theme reworked-wrong title
