  • wow

  • When the WWF was must see TV.

  • watch the sequence at 5:52,he did this again in their matches at WM 25 and 26. but he is significantly slower in the later years. he could out wrestle anyone in the 2000's, but in the mid to late nineties, he was fucking untouchable.

and he knew it too. for his personal life, it may have been for the best that he was hurt here. if not, he would have gone on, probably become an even bigger star, but he may have OD'd or something... I love you HBK

  • wonder wat wwe would be (and wcw too really) if michaels dont get hurt. "and he always turns it on for these ppvs" :( R.I.P WWF

  • 240 we metted again

  • Back When The WWF title meant something the greatest superstar of all time SHAWN MICHAELS!!!!

  • These two are one the greatest workers WWE has ever had

  • Wrestling was so cool back in the 90's its lost that edge now well and truly !!!

  • shawn micheals is one of the greatest superstar in history

  • @jokerface51 so is undertaker

  • i agree that i miss the attitude era and they should bring it back but there would be one big thing missing. The superstars who made the attitude era wat it was. GREATNESS

  • Undertaker was the man throughout 97 and 98.

  • i was at this event!!! it was EPIC!!!!

  • WTF?? At 7:24 someone yells out "break his back" Thats crazy!!!!

  • @theoreotux The ironic part is by that point, that already basically happened...that landing at 6:49 looked like the one that did it, but Michaels did a nice job ignoring it if it was.

  • @AlphaOmegaAWH Well it was not hurting him at first until the next day according to an interview

  • i love undertaker, as if there is anything more we could ask from the dead man

  • who misses the wwf today and the attitude and hate wwe and this john cena pg crap

  • APPLE or WWF????

  • 6:48 nearly put hbk on the shelf 4ever

  • this shawn michaels woulda fucked up the undertaker. ow can shawn want undertaker to end his career at WM26, when undertaker was the one to screw his career in this match?

  • lol hbk shock at 3:58

  • i like the way the Undertaker turns the lights on in this match wish he would always do that

  • I just say. Thanks God for letting me be part of those days of wrestling. I feel sorry for the terrible wwe programing of today. lol

  • They need to change Shirley's song...

    "He's just a girl-boy....

    just a girly-boy

Anyone who could stand this twink, is a FAGGOT.

  • Why is Lurch from the Adams Family beating up Alice from Wonderland?

    Sad, sad sad.

  • for the two people that disliked this we got two words for ya.................

  • @DALEGENDARYNIGGA

Come on, The Underwear-taker vs. Girly-boy? This match lasted too long.... anything more than TWO SECONDS would be too long.

Shirley always takes such a beating and never gets hurt... it's just insulting to anyone. He's the fucking Anna Kournakova of westling.... if tennis was fake.

  • oo you can see the pain on HBK's face when he starts to get up ooo not nice

  • Crushed vertebrae @ 6:45

  • I miss the phenom Undertaker. Biker/badass Undertaker, just isn't the same.

  • its unbeliveable that he was able to keep going after he broke his back in this match..it just shows how great he really was!

  • @6:49 HBK brokes his back and can't wrestle for 4 years

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton He does go on to wrestle at wrestlemania 14 against austin then yeah 4 years of no wrestling

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton Wrong! Its wresltmenia 13 i think when he fights austin! When he tries to flip onto the turnbuckle when he gets sling into it!

  • @NightSwift12 No, MrFeyenoordOrton is right and you're wrong. That casket hit was what did the damage, ever woinder why Shawn didnt wrestle another match until Wrestlemania? Because his back was screwed from this match. He wrestled Austin already almost a cripple.

  • @NightSwift12 Shawn Michaels didn't wrestle at all at wrestlemania 13 you retard. That was when Austin had the submission match against bret hart. HBK would wrestle sparingly for the next two months. His last match before the 4 year hiatus was against austic for the title at wrestlemania 14 you brainless moron

  • @gamelvr1 Shut the fuck up just cuz i got mixed up in each 1! And im right!

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton it looks like he barely grazes the casket cause he went so fast. Had to play it back a few times

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton undertaker botched the move

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton I have always thought of Taker as overrated..

**Waits for the taker fans to come at me**

  • @MrFeyenoordOrton Michaels had one more match at WrestleMania before being out those four years, and it would be another nine Rumbles after this one before he and the Undertaker would face off again, as the final two alive in the 2007 Rumble Match.

  • @younghomiesmith yeah if shawn didnt miss 5 years of ring action due to the injury in this match im sure alot would be different..for one triple h wouldnt have gotten that huge opportunity to become one of the greatest of all time. once again it is a member of the kliq (even through injury) who changes the face wrestling forever

  • @hotspotboy1 HHH is not one of the geatest of all time, not back in attitude era, not now, his wrestling moves are few ! the only reason why he got the push later because he was dating stephanie and later married her which is not scripted. HHH is an ass kisser nothing else ! rock and austinn not only they have the x-factors but they work hard and always improving in ring!

  • @spongysnake

I'd KILL to see HHH against Andre-- STOMP!

Game over. The X-men of wrestling are just like in comic books, i.e. lame-ass kiddie-versions of the Golden Age, they SUCK ASS!

  • but john cena is still the worst of the worst, seriously, i don't see any improvements at all ever since he became wwe champ, if there are, they are so negligible. does he even work hard at all ? if he does, i can't see it at all. maybe he's just does not have any talent in wrestling at all, or that he has no talent at all (his mic skill sucks too), i guess he's more talented playing a new character in barney or sesame street.

  • @spongysnake The way wwe kids late at night is going every Monday you might just see that. Luckily I don't watch wrestling any more (the shit on tv now a days is what I mean) so I won't have to. And what does cena have to change? He is wanna be black guy (no idea why anyone would wanna be that..) like so many people confused now a days. All he has to do is his "yoyoyo" stuff and say "you people" and "they came here for.." and the sheeps follow and enjoy him. Why change then?

  • two of the finest in the business the matches between these two were legandery espically this match and the hell in a cell match

  • Dammit hbk why did that happen!!!!

  • Dammit this is what happen to hbk's back, but if that didn't Happen imagine how the wwe would have been like from 1998-2010

  • the crowd wow! shocking! not like nowdays wwe...

  • A hell of a match

  • 6:46 is what killed Michaels back

  • @realchris1Returns thank god the match didn't ended like that

  • What an oviation for Undertaker

Undertaker = The Greatest of all Time.

  • @cjsellers2000 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cjsellers2000 True but 2001 is my faveroute because of the wwf vs ecw/wcw

  • HBK's pyro came late

  • crazy how at 6:46 that bump ended his career, yet he finished this match as if nothing happened...weird...not to mention hbk wrestled another full 8 years...i know hbk faked an injury before with the knee...u think he was so burnt out that he just wanted to get out of wrestling for a while??? you never know...

  • @nickochosiete If you watch Shawn's DVD Heartbreak & Triumph (sure it's in his book too) he said that after his back hit the casket he thought it was no big deal. It wasn't until that next morning that he felt all the pain from it, which he described as the worst in his life. You can doubt the validity of it, but I fully believe it was real. As much as Shawn wanted to be on top back then there's no way he'd just walk away-- and for four years at that.

  • At 6:46 when I heard Shawn's back bounce off that casket, I immediately put my hand on my back and shouted 'FUCK!' :/

  • Just think, had the casket been just a couple inches closer to the ring or a less wide, Michaels never tears his back up that badly.

  • how many times taker and michaels fought each other now? They were usually fueding with completely different people, so maybe you could fit all their matches on one dvd. That'd be something worth watching, these two are great in the ring together.

  • Shawn and Mr. Perfect = the best 2 sellers ever in the biz.

  • Damn. I just realized Undertaker retired HBK twice.

  • @LegendaryElite

    Hahaha

  • if you manage to look it up - watch rick rude vs sting in japan a similar sorta injury to rude ended his career - after the event in japan sting did say he wasn't even aware of how serious the injury was - no matter how fake wrestling is, the bumps and bruises are still real.....

  • Shawn Michaels owns The Undertaker HBK in his prime is maybe the greatest of all time.

  • @DropAGemOnThem HBK is definitely one of the 3 best American wrestlers of all time when it comes to sheer wrestling ability. Bret Hart and Ric Flair are the other two. Though no american wrestler can even hold a candle in that respect to the kenta kobashi and the late mitsuhara misawa. Those have the more 5-star matches by Dave Meltzer's (very respected name for match ratings). Flair only had 6 total, Bret and hbk had two apiece. Misawa and kobashi have 24 and 23 respectively.

  • @gamelvr1 Are you kidding? Arent you forgetting Lou Thesz and Bruno Sammartino? What about Kurt Angle? Lou Thesz is the greatest American mat Wrestler of all time. He invented many of the moves you see including the Powerbomb. The man wrestled his first match in the 30's....and his last in 1990 at age 74. And unlike Flair, he could still wrestle. Now THATS respect. Now if you throw everything in the blender, in turns of performance, championships, and PPV success...Undertaker is the Greatest

  • Two Of My All Time Favorite Wrestlers HBK and THE UNDERTAKER

  • Very entertaining match from start to finish, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker, two of the very best, and the original Degeneration X was most entertaining because of the Heel Shawn Michaels (period...........before he changed his life............kind of ironic).

  • @cjsellers2000 2000 and 2001 were good too.

  • what the fuck what an oviation when the undertaker comes out!!

  • @YINGJIEEE did you notice that nowdays... even if cena, batista, mysterio or whatever they are the crowd is with the Taker?

  • Wasn't this Shawn Michaels' only other match in 1998, besides WM14?

  • man i remember back then i was a teenager and DX was so great, i did a lot of their shit in my school drivings others crazy, great times, i was a complete nut case going all after DX :D

  • @CHUUMPASS Youre not alone bro. I once gave my teacher the crotch chop, the whole classed laughed their asses off (the didnt even know DX or wrestling for that matter) but I sure did get in trouble. Good times tho

  • @CHUUMPASS same here. We actually made up a title game where everyone in my highschool could be the champion. You had four minutes to get to your next class, but in those four minutes you have to defend the title from everyone as they try to steal it. Who ever has the belts at the end of the day, is champion. Principle shut us down though; made a big deal about it. I was a former champion though:)

  • @jeste4187 we played that game at our school last day before holidays we played and as the wwf champion i can honestly say thats the most funniest time ever still hold the title ever since :)

  • shawn can beat the undertaker, we all kno he is the giant killer.

  • @DALEGENDARYNIGGA Unfortunately for HBK, the Undertaker isn't an ordinary giant; he's the Phenom, who defeated him two WrestleManias in a row and ended his career.

  • @DALEGENDARYNIGGA yeah he is way better fuck the undertaker

  • dang,,, just like the mankind fall from HIAC i never knew that backdrop that almost ended hbk forever was so early in the match

  • HBK is an awesome heel.

  • i like better wwe 2008 2009 2010

  • @menycua u sad, sad person

  • @menycua Ignorant Child

  • @menycua Well, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Unlike the other narrow-minded children here, I'm not going to look down on you for having a different opinion from me. But personally, I thought wrestling in general was at its best during the early and mid 20th century, in the Lou Thesz days, back when the focus was on the actual wrestling, and not all the gimmicky stuff we have now.

  • wooo 1997 is my birth year it rockzzz.....

  • your such a waste little boy......

  • @spliffice1989 lol faggot u are

  • Okay from 2:04 to 5:09 , that was the length of the undertaker's entrance

  • @AJG22PHILS

    FAIL.

  • i love the kick shot of shaun micale............

  • garbage plot lines since 2000.

  • @spliffice1989

I think in 01 when they had the Invasion, that was their best.

  • @spliffice1989

WOW! Thanks for your amazing insight.

-Fuck off and watch FAIL-N-A with Jeff Hardy as the head heel (who was ironically past his prime in 2000). Stupid kid.

  • @cjsellers2000 Same here thats why im trying to find all the good stuff on youtube

  • why hate cena all he does is his job fans just want something to cry about and hbk ant good nomore hes retire lol

  • @29joesph

-Learn to write in intelligible English, please.

  • shawn michaels the sexiest man alive.......

  • light out to late... shame wwf....

  • Attitude Era was this ?

  • @iRHAPEzombiies ofcourse... are u crazy what else should be???

  • ever notice how play fighting take hella lot more energy than real fighting? When playing you are not trying to kill each other. When real fighting who cares where they land so no point in making sure you drop them right or land on them right or making sure you hit them right.

  • Shawn's back was already nagging him at this point and when he took the bump over the ropes and he hit the side of the casket, he did not feel anything at the moment. But the next day or two he woke up and could'nt move untill the ambulance came and he was fixed up for wm 14.

  • east or best austin is the best

  • Damn right, no one can match Michael's success with titles. Not even Cena!

  • @Csykoh Cena ain`t even qualified to tie HBK`s boots! Or HHH`s! Or The Rock or Stone Cold`s. You get the idea!!!

  • @estyle40

Stone Cold Rock? Undertaker was way bigger star in 90s. 90-97

  • michaels barely hits his back at 6:49 , he couldn't have injured himself there ...

  • @brahmabullonwii it was one of those things where it barely hit but still did something, and then the rest of the match the back was getting hit

  • @brahmabullonwii He hits the casket at an angle with his lower back in slow mo u can see it clearly.

  • damn turned the light soff to late for taker ^^

  • shawn michaels is the only 1 to have every belt. except the hardkore championship belt whatever happend to that

  • that casket is jus as famous as hbk

  • when undertaker caught Michaels at 6:24 was very nice... Michaels is bout 225 lbs so thats kinda hard when your not expecting it.. wwf in the late 90's wasnt staged so taker didnt even know what to do next.

  • @rockster0987 Yeah, for real. That's why it was better in this era. At least u understand.

  • @rockster0987 WWE/WWF has ALWAYS been staged. To claim it wasn't staged in the late 90's is ridiculous.

  • @rockster0987 while it was still impressive there's no way hbk was really 225. Arnold schwarzenegger was 250 in Terminator..I'm 6' 1 average build and I'm 175. HBK has stick legs and granted a built torso and arms. So he's 190 at best.

  • @Ndure13

    i'm 6ft 3 and weight 225, i'm not far off the HBK body :)

    different for every person

  • @dsgbmatt true, but hbk is 6'0. 3 inches is typically a whole different weight class. WWE is no to exaggerate wrestler's weight to sensationalize them and make them seem larger than life. You're right, it's different for every person... but hbk is def. not near 225.

  • @Ndure13 he looks about 220 to me!! believe me, shawn is 6,1...muscle is heavy!! he's pretty built up top...

  • @nickochosiete well fair enough.

  • in my opinion, shawn michaels is not only one of the most gifted athletes in wwf/wwe history, but he was ONE HELL OF AN ENTERNAITNER.. maybe the BEST.

  • Interesting to hear JR reference Hogan and Savage in 1998 when they worked for WCW

  • this was when dx were good they just aint as good as good guys!

  • this was when wwe was real

    wwf was real

    wwe was fake

  • I could not have sad it better myself.

  • bah, idiots, anyways, i like wwf a lot, so stfu

  • all fake right? that why he Herniated damn near every disk in his back at 6:46 right?

  • @metallicaddicto For goodness sake,

spine crashing on a corner of the casket

and was being thrown can cause

real injury to spine.YOU ARE SO STUPID!!!!

    @Bzerk45, you are right.

  • @Bzerk45 how is he standing god damn

  • @Bzerk45 ive been a wwf/wwe fan since 98' yes alot of it is fake, but at the same time alot isnt. but just like in any profession there will be accident.

  • @Bzerk45 is was that the bad injury that kept him out for ages??

  • @arsenalcobain yep thats what did it if i recall correctly

  • @Bzerk45 Actually thats when Shawn broke his back

  • @Bzerk45 it is fake but not all the time

  • @Bzerk45

because HBGay was high on pills and thought he's superman or something

  • @crazywrestlingtube ya go ahead and call him HBGay.. how original.. your a dumbass.. hmm.. one of the most decorated superstars of all time.. without a doubt one fo the greatest in ring performers of all time, injury or not.. hes won match of the year 12 times.. leader of the new generation.. helped kick off the attitude era.. came back from a career ending injury.. women love him, men want to be him, his wife his gorgeous, and hes one of the 10 best wwf talents of all time.. so fuck off dbag!

  • @purplepurp07

go ahead and suck his cock

The ratings were awful when he was the WWF champ and that's a fact, bitch!

  • @crazywrestlingtube yes they were.. and if he would have left too.. just like EVERY other major superstar at that time.. the WWF would have folded.. there was no one else worth watching when he was champ.. the only year they were getting killed was 96.. at that time there was no diesel, ramon, jeff jaret, undertaker was mid carding, bret was injured and out till survivor series, and sid couldnt carry a match unless it was with sahwn.. the only guy worth watching besides hbk was vader.. and he

  • @crazywrestlingtube wasnt over.. watch an event from that time and look at the amazing pop and crowd reactions he gets.. look at the amazing pops he got since his return.. most wrestling fans are stupid and go for the big name (ex cena.. and bitches like you) and dont know what REAL talent is.. when everyone was wacthing WCW for the NWO is a perfect example of this.. yes they were filled with legends and it was an amazing stable.. but when it came to true wrestling. they didnt have it at all

  • @crazywrestlingtube ohh and tv ratings were bad.. yes.. but they were still selling out venues every night.. just as much as WCW.. remember the WWF did house shows ALLL the time.. got anything else to come at me with.. or can you just accept the fact hes one fo the greatest WWF superstars.. you're an idiot

  • @crazywrestlingtube the masses all generations disagree with you. On your own buddy. noone cares...you dn't have a voice. sorry.

  • @purplepurp07 the masses of all generations disagree with you. sorry. on your own. you have no voice. stop talking.

  • @crazywrestlingtube god ur dumb

  • @Bzerk45 How is he continuing to wrestle with that pain?

  • metallicaddicto, you bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HBK's the best ever. He was pretty much undefeated for all of 1995 all the way to early 1998 when he retired.

  • mierda

  • that was cool

  • that had to hurt at 5:57

  • 4:05 undertaker looks like drowned

  • I havent been following wrestling recently, but I saw a match last night in which the Big Show was knocking everyone down in one punch that appeared to have no power in it, and the angling was bad so it came off campy. In order to see if it was new camera work or just Show, Jericho and Cena getting old, I compared this match to the WM25 one. This one is better by all accords, ignoring the fact that this is a specialty match and the other was not.

  • He took a lot of big bumps after the accedent.

  • Damn...HBK just kept going and going...that probably made whatever happened with that casket worse. That's one of the great what ifs, would their be an Austin era? What would've happened with HHH?

  • No there wouldn't have been, it woulda changed the entire future of wrestling. HBK was THAT big at this time, he was invincible, untouchable, he was truely a wrestling god. When was the last time you've heard J.R. call a wrestler without question or hesitation 'the greatest WWF champion in history'? Never.

However without this incident would HBK even have a future? It's a rather ironic fate.

  • @operations1000 Plus Shawn was close to McMahon, and he basically started the attitude era.

  • That's right. Alot of people say 'Shawn missed the Attitude Era' but I'm like 'uhm he STARTED the Attitude Era..and then Stone Cold carried the torch'

  • @operations1000 so tru dx was tthe start

  • @operations1000 exactly, the attitude era started with DX founded by michaels

  • @operations1000 shawn michaels was great and at the top at this point but do you really believe its what he was doing? all in all he cant beat taker and if it wasent for kane (even yes its storyline) interfering twice shawn would have no business being wwf champion to begin with. in my opinion austin was the face of the attitude era from the very beginning but of course had plenty of help with it including dx and so forth

  • Just listen to the crowed ...

  • man that almost ended his career

  • 6:45 one of the most unfortunate moments in WWE history

  • montreal

  • Undertaker's entrance is intense!

  • hbk really have stamina
