  • the court looks soo square....

  • and they say petey has no sense of humor

  • that is classic serve and volley.... man I miss tennis like this

  • @drugstoremarc Serve and volley doesn't work any more

  • @federeriscol still works, always would work agaisnt a noob :P pro players knows how to handle it and that, serve and volley doesn't have any space for development for the new players, since the ball spin are easier to do now.

  • He's called Pistol Pete because when he serves it's like a gunshot

  • where was it?

  • Pete's serve motion changed a bit. I guess that comes with age XD. He still kicks butt.

  • @hillsong1004 I think his change in motion is just because he is much more relaxed. he doesn't NEED to be winning. he has nothing left to prove.

  • hahahh thats a real-life hawk eye assistance by blake

  • lol!

  • was this an exhibition? when was this?

  • you did this with your cel?

  • no, with my digital camera that has a video option. all of my vids are w/ the same camera.

  • this vid and the other one u put up totally rules, the quality/angle(s) from the court

id watch the entire match if u recorded it from either this angle or the other one in the other vid

    sampras' serve is so sick!!!

  • Funny video. Blake was making fun of Pete because he did that during his match w/ John McEnroe. Sampras won this match in 3 sets!

  • was a good match, did you see my other video of pete's serve? NASTY!!! i'd hate to be on the receiving end of those...

  • This shows that Blake is no where near being #1 or 2 in the world, the fact that sampras is almost 40 and cant move as fast, retired and james blake is still an ATP top 10 player. Cant even defeat Sampras when he's retired

  • Hey... exhibitions are meant to be taken lightly. Niether player is playing as hard as they can. So this isnt a great judge of skill nor talent. Its just for fun.

  • exhibitions arent a good way to see how good someone is. pete still hits a good baal but those matches between federer were obviously fixed. the scores were like 7-6. 7-6. at the end of petes career he wasnt even in the top ten. fed hasnt been outside the top ten since 2003.

  • LOL obviously fixed?

    okay.

  • oh, wait. nevermind

yeah, they were all in good, pressureless fun.

  • I agree dude

  • yeah I now weird how fed shot up in the ranking after pete stopped being there to beat him. lol

  • I think that pete trained harder for the federer match. He probably knew 6 months in advance and trained for it. It is still his income.

  • @AceGuitarR7 at the end of his career Pete was dealing with chronic back issues that he doesn't have to deal with now since he only plays a couple of matches every so often. As far as matches being fixed, well taking into consideration your inside on Pete's ranking at the end of his career it doesn't seem to me like you should be an expert on this particular subject. You are basically saying that all close matches are fixed...

  • im not saying all close matches are fixed. your miss quoting me. the matches im talking about are exhibitions moron. you honestly think sampras could take federer, the number one player in the world to two tie break sets? they just made it close so that the crowd got their moneys worth. lol, i dont see how people could believe those scores. federer was mucking around, he didnt take it seriously.

  • A moron is someone that doesn't understand how it is possible that the 2 greatest players of all time can't take a match to a (or several) tiebreaker. Watch Federer's interview before they played this series and confirm that, per his words, it wasn't good for Roger's image to loose (or wining by close margin) to a player that had been retired for the past 6 yrs. Stick to "guitar hero" 'cause you suck as a tennis analyst. By the way it's "you're miss quoting me" you also suck at spelling - moron.

  • whats with people on the net expecting everyone to bother about correct spelling or grammar? Ill give you an example of how i know that match was fixed. hewitt played sampras in an exhibition match recently and smashed sampras 6-2, 6-2. however that match did not get publisised as much as the fed/sampras matches. last time fed played hewitt he demolished him something like 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.

  • @AceGuitarR7 You mean federer lost in Halle in 3 sets. dumbass. Petes still got game, much bigger than your lover boy Federer, Hewitt is shit house but he played his best against Pete and his game matches well against him federer has always sucked ass against aggressive players. Federer would have struggled to win 10 majors in the 90s, He cant handle guys that take it to him.

  • @quiet1234 yeh i love federer. whatever. federers allways sucked ass against agressive players huh? you might want to rethink that statement. he dominates soderling, roddick, taylor dent etc. hell anyone with a big serve he rips them apart. federer would not struglle in the 90's because people used less spin then. he only struggles against nadal when he gets those big topspin shots to his backhand... thats all. in the 90's they were all flat hitters. he would have dominated you dumbass.

  • Wimbledon and US Open, along with most other grass and hard court tournaments have been dramatically modified to play much slower since 2001. True aggressive tennis ( serve and volley ) doesnt exist anymore because of the surface changes. You cant even compare tennis now to the 90s. Not saying Fed couldnt win on 90s fast paced surfaces, he can serve and volley very well himself, but he'd face a much more diverse variety of competition - S&V AND baseline

  • @quiet1234 name 1 agressive player federer has trouble with??? fed has trouble with baseliners like nadal, djoko, (in smaller tournaments) murray ...

  • you think the organisers of the exhibition want the match to be over in 40mins?or the crowd get their moneys worth.there were quite a few of these matches if you remember and they were playing to packed houses.you cant be that thick to think fed was playing at his max? if you also notice fed was wearing a watch during the match. he never does that in a competitive match, not even a low ranked player. it was for advertisers, which is also beneficial to them if the match goes for as long as possible

  • took you long enough to answer?!? no longer interested on this "conversation", see ya loser...

  • How hard is it to admit that you are wrong? Jesus christ, you are stubborn...

  • sorry but i dont check my mail each time i log in. ive given you another example of an exhibition between hewitt n sampras, hewitt smashed him. this one wasnt nearly as big as these exhibitionsand off course fed wont say anything bad about the match, hes a gentleman. oh and p.s. i dont play that guitar hero crap

  • @AceGuitarR7 Hewitt smashed him? Is that why it was like 7-6 6-4 or watever, to an old man twice as slow as when he retired who plays about 3 times a week, vs someone who was seriously contending looking to win the match. Riiighht. Also Hewitt matches very well to pete, federer is a little bitch who always cowers when somebody takes the game to him like Nadal or Pete, especially someone who takes time away from him.

  • @quiet1234 it wasnt that close... it was like 6-2 6-2.

  • @quiet1234 as far as I remember teenage fed beat defending champ sampras in 2001 in sampras fav tournament........

  • @telmolicious

Yeah he beat a 30 year old Sampras still recovering from a herniated disc and hardly training because of his new wife and child. He lost to a dozen other nobodies at that point in his career lol. He lost next year's Wimbledon to #82 George Bastl LOL ... It wasnt till a few months before the 2002 US Open that he started training hard again and was able to reach near prime form.

  • @Prickle hmm your point is kinda moot, if you take into consideration that sampras on a good day can simply blow ANYONE off the court with his serve and volley, also yes blake might have loss but i daresay sampras could hold his own against any player if it was just an exhibition but he couldnt if he was actually still in the tour playing EVERYDAY. anyone can be good in one match, its takes someone consistent to be at the top.
