Gender of the writer should not come into it - an opinion about the study of serial killers is based on a lot of reading, a lot of research .learning to understand the differences in the way some people's brains are 'wired' not insane/sane
I have read all books written about Ted Bundy and certainly believe he was a true serial killer for psychopathic personality - and he was intelligent and manipulative - I can understand Dr Dobson feeling a personal connection and therefore being able to rationalise his behaviours - my own belief violent pornography does play a part but putting anyone to death prevents us from exploring the answers - he was an intelligent and manipulative psychopath - but we learn nothing from killing killers

They weren't threatened or given a choice, they were volunteers and according to the numbers there were roughly 10 collaborators to every German officer.

Dobson mentions desensitization and rationalization. I wasn't sure where he was going with the Nazi reference at first, but that's true. We know why Ted was desensitized, but what was his rationale? It wasn't political. He had a deep hatred of women while still wanting to be loved by them and treating some with great respect. I think it goes back to his early childhood and all the issues with his paternity and thinking his mother was his sister. Who knows what we don't know and maybe he doesn't
This dude is a moron, the one who interviewed Ted. His execution was put off for along time due to the fact that he kept getting stays. Why did he get stays? Because he told the state of Flordia prosecutors he would tell them where a few more bodies were. He played this man quite well. He definitely didn't want to die. He was a coward and valued his life more than anything else. He admitted all of the details of his crimes for the notoriety and nothing else. He was on a power trip and that's why he killed women and children. When you are in prison and can no longer exercise your ability to do that, your next best thing is to let people know how and what you did. Try to regain that feeling of power!

A lot of the serial killers' psychotic behaviors stemmed from very disturbing childhood issues, but Dahmer's childhood was allegedly nondescript and normal.

He killed 36+ victims and took his show on the road killing in at least 7 different states escaping imprisonment twice, whereafter he killed at least 3 more victims including kidnapping, raping, and murdering a 12 year old girl. Ted wrote the book on American serial killers.

We as people would commit crimes if we couldn't feel the emotion of right or wrong. Emotion is a barrier for psychopaths, and without emotion and the understanding of concequences...what would hold us back from the wrong of the world?

Dobson mentions desensitization and rationalization. I wasn't sure where he was going with the Nazi reference at first, but that's true. We know why Ted was desensitized, but what was his rationale? It wasn't political. He had a deep hatred of women while still wanting to be loved by them and treating some with great respect. I think it goes back to his early childhood and all the issues with his paternity and thinking his mother was his sister. Who knows what we don't know and maybe he doesn't

Because he told the state of Flordia prosecutors he would tell them where a few more bodies were. He played this man quite well. Wow, this Doctor is a smart man, what he said about the nazis is so true. He definitely didn't want to die. He was a coward and valued his life more than anything else. He admitted all of the details of his crimes for the notoriety and nothing else. He was on a power trip and that's why he killed women and children. When you are in prison and can no longer exercise your ability to do that, your next best thing is to let people know how and what you did. Try to regain that feeling of power!

A lot of the serial killers' psychotic behaviors stemmed from very disturbing childhood issues, but Dahmer's childhood was allegedly nondescript and normal.

Bundy, in love with his own warped intellect and ability to appear reasonable to those whom he deemed of a lesser intellect, was playing his endgame and this guy fell for it - because he knew and he told him exactly what he wanted to hear. Capital punishment is wrong, but even I would've made an exception in his case.

@XWoodchuckleX No one knows who or what they are going to see and no normal human being should play the role of their creator and decide either. You wouldn't want people to demand that you go to hell because they didn't like you. The media will only show you what they want you to believe based on THEIR opinion, you should be wise enough to look through it or at least know it. God is always forgiving. In the end we all return to him, whether by murder or whatever. No one is meant to be perfect.
