Being responsible for your own decisions is one of the things missing from modern life. Conservative republicans get misty eyed reminiscent over the 1950's, begin to imagine the 50's as being a crime, homosexual, and minority free christian family dream world. Alpine climbers dream about the ice age where nothing is contrived. Imagine hunting mammoths with a spear and surviving only by your own general badassedness and intelligence.

Point being: don't ask alpinists about politics

I agree that climbers should be libertarians, or not complain when their activities get outlawed. Obviously the only moral philosophy is that you own your body and therefore you can do with it as you wish. Not sure if that's what the guy was saying or not
