  • so how long do u put it in

  • This works. When you put the dead battery in, the electrons and protons in the battery become excited in freezing temperature. When you put it inside an electric device such as the Wii remote, it will work for about 30-60 mintues and then it will become regular room temperature again and it will become dead again.

  • haha bullshit i put a set of bones wheels and they cracked? polyurethan cracking never heard of such a thing.....

  • It's not true because when you put batteries in a freezer it's the same thing as a car battery when it's cold outside the battery doesn't work... When you put it in the freezer it actually destroys the battery.

  • @NGELO9657 Well it is true and not true at the same time. Since atoms move faster when they are heated, the battery loses power faster when it's being used. If you don't put it in a cold environment before you use them, then the atoms move faster making it lose power faster. If you put it in a cold environment then the atoms move slower making the battery lose power slower. But if you do it too much then your right, the battery is dead.

  • so during these winter days leave all your batteries outside.

  • It's true cos lowering the temperature slows down the rate of reaction..

Sucks I haven't got enough space for my batteries in my fridge.

My laptop and phone are taking up too much space

  • haha put my laptop battery in the freezer xD

  • i have another idea put them in the trash save 20 dollars and but rechargable batteries yes that way works but they die after a while

  • Hahaha ho hoo!) It's not the way

  • You should put your car battery in the freezer every night.

  • that is true we put batteries in the fridge all the time

  • @fav13andacdc hahaha lool nice one man

  • how long should we keep the batteries in the freezer for?

  • Pissing on batteries works too.

  • @catatonicable rofl

  • @catatonicable thats right, it delivers more acid

  • lool kl i might try it

  • PSN IS FARMER WEBLEY

  • i have heard about this but also i heard and read in the comments that that is not true.. so my question is why it will last longer?? TheJohnnyMetal says that is true because it will froze the atoms and they will move slower and i like that answer but dinamanius and MrVargas743 says that is not true. can some one explain what is going on when they are cold or hot. tnx if someone help me if not tnx again :):)

  • actually this damages your batteries and you will have no charge in them.

  • Nice video !

Have a look at my recent videos at my Youtube Account overunityDOTcom , I am using cheap ALUFOIL !

Just click on my username here.

    Regards, Stefan.

  • what i do and it's very effective is to expose the batteries to the sun and after a while go and check if it works, if it works for me it works for you.

  • the only thing a freezer makes last longer is a glow stick haha

  • @kirbevan And frozen food.

  • Thats not true about the freezer. the only thing that makes a battery last longer is if you heat it up and get the molicules moving faster and also recharging the battery. And it is definitely not true about rechargables. there are plates inside that can't touch together be the charge in the battery will be lost completely.

  • "heat" makes the battery last long, some people say that if u put a battery on the stove it recharges...there are evidences that warmer the weather the longer the battery holds, even when you charge the battery it gets warm not cold.

  • true because the atoms when they are heated they move as fast as they can, producing more energy although if you do it over and over again, the atoms no longer have enough energy. I like Chocolate!

  • @TheJohnnyMetal FUCK YAH CHOCOLATE

  • @TheJohnnyMetal wtf?

  • I charged my battery's free, it's easy to do, just one wire from the negative to a stainless steel peg into the ground, let stand for a day or so. This is like harnessing lightning but on a small scale. to view my work go to area51mohDOTcom, forums, water cooler debate, an update on my experiment.

  • lol

  • last time i did that my battery waz aaalllll dead

  • All Batteries Dosen't like it 'Cold' in the freezer....... becuse batteries can die if they are to cold......

  • your suppose to stick in the freezer? i put it in the fridge lmao

  • ROFL

  • how long do you have to put it in before its fully charged???

  • damn you!!! I put my batteries in the freezer and forgot them and they over charged. then when I put the batteries in my radio it caused it to burn up and smoke came out from the inside of my damn radio. People if you try this make sure you don't leave them in to long and over charge them!

  • Put all my batteries in the freezer.... now what do I do with all my Freeze-pops?

  • um put them in your fridge googzmsr!

  • lol

  • If you put batteries in the Freezer, it may expload or drain your batteries. (Use a fridge ONLY)

  • yes only freez dead batterys will help revived them! i had some Duracells in2003 and thay wear 15.22& 14.92 aa & that is very GOOD 2009 of this yr. full chg AA IS 15.50 or 1.5

  • you people are idiots that dont think it works because it does

  • you would not want to do that, sure it increases the battery life by a few minutes, but you will have to worry about CONDENSATION

  • wat are you a fucking science teacher

  • 1. Is it a good idea to store batteries in a refrigerator or freezer? ↑

No, storage in a refrigerator or freezer is not required or recommended. Cold temperature storage can in fact harm batteries if condensation

results in corroded contacts or label or seal damage due to extreme temperature storage.

To maximize performance and shelf life, store batteries at normal room temperatures (68°F

    to 78°F or 20°C to 25°C).

  • every one fucking knows that

  • yeah thats so bogus and stupid and wat does freezing your skateboard wheels have to do with anything?

  • freezing skate board wheels help them from breaking of cracking

  • its true ryan sheckler does this

  • My ass!

  • DUDE this actually works i've tried it before watching this video i tried it on a dead battery it made it work for a bit longer it didnt make it last TOO much longer but it's still something

  • suck my fucking dick

  • lol, ok go put your batterys outside, or leave your drill in your car during the winter, you will find that they are dead, batterys like AA's dont get zapped right away like a big battery like a drill, but they still lose there electrons, so dont leave your batterys outside during temps of 40 degress and below, the cold will zap them. this is so old and stupid!!!

  • omfg u idiots u put it in warm urine now the freezer/oven/water in your own piss IT REALLY WORKS TRY IT!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • exotherm ;) if you put it in the freezer

so you better put low batteries in warm water. the thermic energy will be absobed by the battery (endotherm)

  • Putting batteries in the freezer will do more harm then any good at all.

Freezing a battery, freezes the water and acid inside of the battery. This can cause the battery to buldge and in some cases has been noted to break the battery container and leak battery acid after it is back to room temperature. Also, if buldging does not occur, the battery life is reduced by almost 1/4 of its capacity.

Putting batteries in the freezing is a myth and a bad one at that.

  • To make a battery last longer in the freezer you must first put tabasco sauce on the batteries and then put them in the freezer. Jeez, I thought everybody knew that.

  • GENIUS!

  • batterys die when there cold dumbass

  • They die, which holds energy in until warmed, dumbass.

  • dumbass =P

  • retarded

  • You know, i just don't get it, why would you do this video, i mean some people will actually buy it and will do it, but u think its cool? i know whats cool, just do us a favor, don't log in to this site anymore

  • why wouldnt he? it does work sherlock

  • oh i didnt knew about the boiling water....

  • i scare my house ice become toxic

  • u scare your house become toxic?

  • are u fucken retarded? thats the opposite of wat u should do

  • you want to put it in the oven?

  • BAM!

  • -[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]+

  • do any of you remember those batteries with a power indicator that you can just press if any one does or if youve seen then please tell me if you know (where to buy them) -[][][][]+

  • tesco, morrisons, asdas, i even saw them in poundland!

  • i know wal marts check where the cameras and technology are

  • u guys are retarded if u put it in the freezer because it decreasing the battery's power but if you put it outside your house or your window where the sun can hit it, it'll get more power

  • ur the retarded one

  • it workes!!! we had this in chemistry

  • no thanks i don't want to eat a battery instead a ice pop.

  • if you mistake an ice pop for a battery then i really don't think you should be using any technology for a while

  • This works great on NiMH and NiCd batteries that you have just charged.NiMH and NiCd batteries lose power while they are not being used.Freezing them will keep them charged for about a month.Alkaline batteries do not drain or lose power as fast as NiMH and NiCd batteries while not being stored.Let the NiMH and NiCd batteries warm up to room temperature before using them after you take them out of the freezer.New Alkaline batteries have a long shelf life.I have a charger for alkaline AA & AAA.

  • Uhmm... Putting the batteries into the freezer will cause the batteries to create frost and when you put it into a device, it will ruin it from the battery that melted the frost. And plus, putting it in the freezer or in the outside, it doesn't make a difference except for the frost from the freezer.

  • dude are you playing warcraft -.-'

  • Yes, chilling a battery will make it seem like it has lost charge. This happens because the chemistry is less active in the cold. Allow the battery to warm up, and it's good as new. Chilling batteries does not make their *USE* life longer, just their *SHELF* life. And overheating batteries causes the chemistry to react even when no power is drawn, so do *NOT* put them in the sun or into an oven to get more power. Besides, if you overheat batteries in a device, you can damage the device.

  • dumbass if you put the battery on a cold place it will discharge , but if u put it on the sun it'll get more power, and thats how it works retard.

  • haha i think you needa know your facts

  • yep...he is right...put the batteries in sun will increase its power...

  • or in boiling water for 2 minutes

  • Well i Guess freezing the electrolite in the battery would have some effect. prob not worth the while as other guy said it could damage the battery. and lithium AA batteries are falling in price now they last like 6x longer

  • hey, dont steal my joke

  • wow how about you dont use them

  • i tried that a while ago and that shit kills yo battery

  • i found a way. if you have 2 dead AA batteries, then use a 9-volt and let the + side touch the BIG round part of the 9-volt. IT'LL WORK. TRUST ME.

  • heres the way to make them last 4ever! never use em bitches

  • hahaha YES

    let the aids epidemic continue

  • good point

  • no cuz they actually get rid of energy over time but takes forever :/ they have experation dates

  • Freezeing them will slow down chemical reaction and conductivity so it will effectively incress there experation date however it wont be indefinate just a fue months or so and is pretty much limited to alkeline batteries.

  • @madcat303 that wont work because batteries have an expiration date

  • so you are from Hungaristan.... how cool.... "end sarcasm"

  • yo :)

  • nope.. lol

    romania is the best

  • Actually, it only helps a tiny bit, unless you live where it is very hot. There's not much of a difference between room temp and frozen batteries as far as how fast their energy will run out. But if it's really hot outside your freezer, like 90 degrees then yeah, it's worth it.

  • Also, NiMH and NiCd batteries lose energy faster, so those you should freeze no matter what, but for the standard Alkaline bateries, there's no point.

  • So in frozen minnesoooota it wouldn't make a difference

  • use rechargables!

  • rechargeables dont last for ever they run out fast see how much u know?

  • Thats why they invented Li-ion batteries numb nuts, see how much you know

  • yes freezing the battery freezes the liquid inside so the molecules will move much much less conserving the the energy, this same trick works for glow sticks once you activate them, like a pause button on it's lifespan

  • lol i used to do thatt with glow sticks from school dances wen i was 10 haha, cuz i like to keep things so wenever i wanna play with them i bring em out then put them back in wen done lmao

  • who's give you fucking lies.

  • it fuck in does int

  • Yes it's true, as said the chemical reaction is slower, although at cold temps the voltage is lower, this is also the reason why when you warm a dead battery up it works alittle longer due to the increase in voltage.

people thing cold weather is hard on batteries but the summer is, it's only when winter comes and that sulfated batteries voltage is reduced we see problems...

  • lol we keep them in our fridge to

  • omg black ppl ben doin this 4 years I know I do it all the time =P

  • I thought I heard the battery trick shown here was an old wives tale... But my grandparents used to do this to all their batteries. I don't remember if it was that they would store longer, or if they lasted longer in devices...

  • hahahaha is your goal to see how many people will actually believe you and then brag to your friends about it? coz that is pretty damn lame

  • does this realli work????

  • try it!!!
