  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time ever since I heard it on the radio once. Too bad they never got their big break. Deffinately better than alot of bands of that era.

  • Title popped in my head this morning, came to YouTube....there it was. Hadn't seen it since the 80's, maybe(?) What music used to be. Now, crap on a broken stick.

  • This is a GREAT album which I have on vinyl and still play regularly. Nice LP Jr doublecut. I know what im gonna play when I cover it.

  • Back in 1987 I saw the Insiders open for The Rainmakers at the Park West in Chicago what a show!

  • there is video of The Insiders playing live at littlczar on youtube

  • I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that thought John/Randy in the looks department-but his own singing style and voice, a great band w/ a great song! Where is THIS kind of music today???? Lord knows we could use some of this!!!!!

  • Are you kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Some jamoke actually tagged a "dislike" for this tune? Somebody tone deaf, no doubt.

The Insiders were one of the most potent bands to ever come out of the Chicago music scene. The fact that they got reamed by their first label probby put paid to their chances of national exposure and a career that would have been totally stellar.

  • I loved 80s college rock! What a shame bands like this were not more commercially successful. I like some of today's alt rock but most does not compare.

  • love this tune

  • First heard this on WMRY 101.1 back in the late 80's. Had the chorus in my head for years trying to remember the name of this band. Saw the video some 15 years later on MTV2 in Atlanta.........back when they still played music. Googled it and bought the CD!

  • You know what? I have listened to this cd for a very long time and the Insiders were a powerful band.I know time wipes all things away but the music they played was just damn good!

  • Damn that drummer's a hard hitter.

  • I was in college when this came out (when they put decent stuff on radio).

Glad I found this. Where are these guys now?

  • I remember seeing them live at Mabels at the U of I in Champaign...good times!

  • The lead singer reminds me of a cross between John Lennon and Randy Newman. He even looks like them. THIS SONG KICKS SERIOUS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My Insiders cassette tape got stolen in 1989. This is the first time I've heard Ghost On The Beach since. Cool song. Makes me miss beach parties.

  • Saw the video around 2am back when Mtv still played the occasional music video. Picked the LP up next weekend. Peace In Time would be nice to see.

  • Now if we could just get someone to post "Love Like Candy" video if it's available. Both songs are great. It took me years to finally connect again with this song and a cd copy of it. Like 20 years.. literally. Great band.

  • The lead singer Gary Yerkins was actually a teacher of mine @ Columbia College Chicago.

Awesome guy. He showed us this video in class one day-it was kind of funny seeing my teacher in a rock video, but the whole class seemed to like the song.

    Great song. Great teacher!

  • @Charliegrowle He does look more like a teacher than a rock star, real conservative looking fellow

  • first time i heard it,thought it was Red Rider

  • this was such a great song, i am glad someone else remembers it.

  • Great song,i have the original album this song came of off, thanks for posting it on here!!!
