Yeah when your little princess is bleeding out on the floor fro a gunshot wound... There i will be with my fanny pack with soochers and quick clot. Whos the one that looks stupid now? love the vid nutn'
lol, I got one of those huge gun packs, although I didn't buy it for CCW. I bought it because I rip the straps off the smaller packs and this one has huge heavy stitched straps like I need.
The gun portion doesn't use zippers, tho, it is velcro & snapped.
But, like you said, I have had people thinking I was carrying when I wasn't.
I suppose it is not good to bark when you have no teeth, but sometimes that is all it takes. ;)
lets just take a moment to think about what HELL those Men went thru in those aircraft in Germany!!! The freezing cold!!! and the vary hard ground below! i know nutn knows what im talking about....... thank you grandpa!.... I thank you every day!!!
mod my old small fanny pack for pm 9 works awsome used velcrore and a mike # 2 . i practice 15 draws a day and getting faster . I wear it daily uncoveredd no one even commits on it no printing and is a small janssport hike ride bike and even jogged with it try it use small as possable thanks nutin fancy my pm9 does me no good in my safe
Nutnfancy, 1. Went to walmart. Bought an Outdoor fanny pack. (similar to that EastPak) 2. Bought some poly styrene 3. Bought velcro and velcro glue 4. Glued loop velcro to the inside back of fanny (instead of sew) it works just as well. 5. Bought a Glock 27 40 S&W (NEW) 6. Obtained CCW 7. Found a inside the pocket Uncle Mikes holster (on sale) 8. Carrying my fanny.....daily. Thanks Brother. JD
@nutnfancy The other day i was walking around the farm hunting ground hogs. Carrying gear in my back pack, and using a gun sling on my 10-22 getting to my gear was difficult. Then I thought about this video......I almost laughed out loud. A trip to Walmart later I now have no problem getting to my gear LOL
I dont think anybody ever made fun of Chuck Norris while he was wearing a fanny pack. Not in front of him anyway (*looks at Nutn in front of his screen* lol).
Only him would have enough courage to make fun of himself.
@JoeDurobot I love the guys who don't give a rip what other people think (like Nutn..possibly Chuck Norris..hehe). My hubby got a breast cancer tshirt that reads in bright pink on the front "Fight Like A Girl"..I kinda hinted that it might not be a shirt for guys. Does he care? Hell no. I love that! Great comment, Joe. =)
@JoeDurobot I don't think anyone would make fun of Chuck Norris regardless of whether he had a fanny pack on. ;-) I took Karate lessons from a school associated with him in 1969 when the only thing he was known for was being a Karate World Champion, even had the pleasure of meeting him when he came to our local studio to help administer a test when I was trying to advance to the next level!
The poor man's budget fanny pack. No quick deployment. No extra pockets for carrying anything else, no padding on the back side, thin weak straps, weak buckles etc etc etc
i really want that eastpak fanny pack cuz i got a glock 26 as well but i cant find it anywhere online. Do you know the model of eastpak it is or where i can buy it online. Thanks and great video.
@nutnfancy - um, yes you do, ha ha! But I absolutely LOVE your accents and every time I've visited the USA, I've always enjoyed it immensely. Great place, great country! ;-)
@nutnfancy : Ah, but I do love your accents and the way you speak! In fact, I love visiting America. It's a shame its so hard to get into these days - the way Great Britain is going today sometimes makes me yearn for a more optimistic culture with sensible laws and an understanding of what proper customer service actually looks like!!
I have found other concealed carry solutions for my PF 9. Computer hard drive carry cases fit perfect (5"x6") and are fully padded to prevent any damage. And just enough room for an additional magazine.
Some Mp3 and belt mount camera cases also are good for smaller sub compact guns and are stealthy enough to not draw interest from anyone. I haven't found the perfect one yet, but I am still looking.
The funny thing is that in Germany fanny packs are associated with American and Japanese tourists.
Maybe people should stop slapping nationalities on it and just realize that it is neither a German or American thing, but a general "tourist thing".

I carry a full size Glock .40 caliber in my American Enterprises fanny pack. Plus an extra mag, wallet, keys...along with all my other stuff. Who cares what people think? This has enabled me to concealed carry for the past 10 years with nobody being the wiser. If you are smart enough to realize that my fanny pack may have a gun in it...you're probably smart enough not to try to rob me. If not? You'll get what you got coming to you. BTW - Enjoyed the video Nutnfancy...you do quality work brother!
Why are you so worried about the average sheep looking at your crouch pack? Why do they call it a fanny pack? It's on your crouch. Stop being so paranoid dude. If it (the gun) is out of site, All is good. Wow.
Give me a break Nut, you are perpetuating the same argument as those that advise against wearing 5.11 or "Don't shoot me vests." The majority of society are sheep and are too caught up in their own lives to ponder whether their's a gun in that fellows fanny pack. Your mission drives what gear you select not the other way around.
Raven Concealments trigger guard sheath and lanyard attachment is a better alternative than creating velcro compartment. Your argument is just non-sense.
I beg your pardon?? Are you SERIOUS?? This is hilarious! In English, the most common understanding of the word fanny, is as a rather rude slang word for vagina! I can't believe you're using it to describe a bumbag!! The English, Irish, Scots, Welsh, and Australians who all all speak the same mother tongue will find this either offensive or more likely just a hoot! Mind you, 'bum' is also a slang word but its not normally considered as rude as the F word.
We gotta get lady gaga to wear a fanny pack! Won't have to worrying about blending in after that : p Awesome job on moding the fanny pack by the way! Fantastic vid like always!!
These fannypacks and the bellyband holster you showed in another video are great examples of modifying gear. I was wondering if you've tried removing the web straps from a smaller pack and modding a set of belt loops on them? Would that work out, or do you think keeping the buckle strap is better so you can change its position?
I'm a big fan of how you aren't afraid to modify a piece of gear by sewing on new things and straps and whatnot...these fannypacks and the bellyband holster you showed in another video are great examples.

+1 for Eagle Creek products, I own a couple and they are very well made and last years. I have a Purple butt bag thats lasted 15 years and another small one like he showed in green/black that I've used for five years.
but what a great ideal i always carry one with my camera gear when i'm going somewhere that i'll be taking pic's i,e with my family, its alittle large in size but i bet i could fit the pf-9 or lcp in there with my cam'' and no one would have a clue...
I just went to walmart and got a perfect fanny pack. It's an "outdoor products" and it fits my glock26 with +3 grip extention, perfectly. It was only 6 bucks WOW!!!!! The zipper is great and doesnt snag at all.
the beautiful thing is for the hipster sheepdog like me (not sure how many of us are out there) fanny packs are back in style! Why? because its cool to be uncool. Im loving it right now, I get to wear a pikachu t-shirt, thick plastic rimmed glasses and tight jeans all while carrying a gun. To all the sheeple and most of the sheepdogs would think Im a gun hating liberal, MAN I LOVE AMERICA!
Strewth - I thought you were being rude! For us English (and Australians and New Zealanders), 'fanny' means 'vagina'. We call this a bum bag. Do Yanks seriously call this a vagina bag?! Bloody hell - THATS funny!
The call it a fag-bag. it's funny because it rhymes. The fact that it's called a fanny pack doesn't help it's reputation. If you're a man and you sport a fanny pack people assume you're either concealing or you're an excentric, a sissy. Why do you think men don't carry satchels? Because unless it's loaded with explosives or gold it's just queer. A big man with a big hand should have a big gun. That's my philosophy. so a fanny pack won't pack my heat.
if you carry a big gun that is fine, nutn even says the bigger the better for the most part, but the thing with bigger guns is that you leave them at home more often than smaller guns, thats the point he is making is that he wants you to always carry
I always thought the 1911 was a great carry gun because it's thin. Even though I can hide it easy because I have a big body it still pulls garmet if it's in the right spot. Believe it or not my favorite pocket pistol is... Beretta's 85. Yeah it's small and lady like but it's a really cool gun.
Yep, go ahead and call me a fag, it wouldn't be the first time. Go ahead call me eccentric, I probably am. But you cant call me unarmed because I will be carrying for sure. :)
Thanks Nutn, great analysis of fanny pack options. Coincidentally, I just began experimenting with the REI fanny pack for concealed carry of my S&W 642 in .38 Spl +P for most of the same reasons you affirmed in your video. I wanted a small, logo, fanny pack that didn't scream, GUN! It now goes with me everywhere I go. If someone thinks I'm a gay, a nerd, or a gay nerd, who cares? I'm a retired Marine with a gun and very secure in my manhood.
Good for you! I don't get why guys are so threatened by a small fanny pack, they just make sense to me, and no I don't use one, but I've never really even noticed them on other people. Guys that are secure in who they are can do whatever they want...that said, I'm still trying to talk my hubby into a pedicure and he ain't buyin it. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)
After watching this video, I found a great fanny pack at Walmart for less than $7. It's the Outdoor brand. Available in gray or black. Saw the same pack at Big 5 for around $12. I outfitted it like Nutnfancy. It's big enough for a Glock 26.
It has a couple of good features. Buckle can be put on either right or left side near the pack. The zippers only have lanyards .... no metal piece.
How about this for an idea? For us FULL figure guys, that are worried about imprinting of concealed carry weapons. Use the pack to hide the inside the waistband holsters.
lol you "slay" me .. i love that.. is it dorky if that fanny pack is carrying a glock????
yeah well my dad carries his fanny pack and he is a 6 foot 200 pound beast.. works out everyday and whatever.... he doesnt carry it everyday but he does if he is with our family but not when he is just by himself... 38 sp taurus.. my grandpa carries his 24/7 .. glock 22!!!! this system just works
Actually nutnfancy turned me on to fanny packs. I like to take care of my stuff so I don't throw all kinds of stuff together in a pocket (e.g. keychain and phone) so without some additional storage I can't have all the stuff that I want on me . Fannypacks solve that problem as well and they are more comfortable than wearing stuff in cargo pockets. People that ridicule belt packs either don't know what they're talking about or they just never had a chance to wear a nice quality pack.
If i see someone with a fanny pack on even at Disney World, i suspect its holding a pistol. Its a good idea, because even if people suspect, they can't do much about it. What happens when you rip that thing open quick and the zipper jams up? Just something to consider, it might be handy but it could also keep you from your pistol if you really need it.
mr. fancy, i picture a clown with oversized novelty scissors, sneak attacking me from behind , while all his clown friends are piling out of a miniaturized european automobile gearing up for a gang-raping. a bizzare asian snuff film with myself as the star!!!
I MUST GET THE STEEL LINED FANNYPACK
great vid as always !!! most comfortable way to carry !!
I live in Virginia and nobody really gets hassled that much for having a gun on them. A lot of people here open carry too. how differnet is it in other states?
Hey Man,Love those videos! When in the US Army Recon, sometimes we would 'modify' our load bearing equipment to work better. Sometimes to relocate a fastener buckle,we would cut the strap, reposistion the buckle where we needed it & get Little Mrs Sewing lady at the GI shop to reattach it with cross sewing(X). Worked for us & would allow you to get that fany pack buckle on your side,in the interest of security of the weapon! Great reviews, This SCOUTS OUT!
What do you think connects german people and fanny packs? I am born and raised german and do not own or use a fanny pack - though I advertise against it.
Everytime you said 'oh whats in this fanny pack' I was thinking aaah knife, phone etc ect and everytime, even with the walter ppk I was like woah he has a gun in there, nice. So yeah, it is effective
Personally, when I go out to the wild on a trip, I dont really care if I look cool or not, for one cause there is no one around to comment on it, for two, if there is, I am in the wrong spot!
Most people that I have been or seen hiking out and about like to carry fanny packs.
Granted I am not speaking from a gun perspective, but from a gear perspective.
Also, I think that if they came up with a better name when the designs first came out than "FANNY Pack" perhaps they would be cooler.
Its all about Swiss backpacks in Central Europe, my cousin refuses to go touristing without his. I seriously think thats the only pack brand they sell in Germany. Everybody has them, its like a Swiss Brand utopia over there.
I don't get it nutfancy, Germans don't use these fucking blunders. You must have had a bad experience while in Florida or something. I'm over 95%, dare I say 100% German with relatives in Germany. I have been to Germany thrice and am going again this summer. Family from Germany have been here five times that I remember. Not once have I seen a German with a fanny pack.
we carry no gun just toys cell-keys-and tool option gun yet we never actually have it inside it our way carry wallet because we can lock the eyeloop with a clip. it safe guard also when holding the gun (as for rapid deploy is a setback) but cover first, then shoot :)
any fanny pack screams gun! in my opinion you might as well carry open instead of carrying in a fanny pack being that you have been made already by anybody with a half of a brain. of course that is if the law allows you to open carry.
Hmm, I'm thinking about this from an economics perspective. Although there are many gun owners in the world, there are comparatively few conceal carry and even fewer who consider a bum-bag or "fanny pack" as you call them.
But mountaineering and wilderness utility is a much larger industry, almost every town in the western world has a high street "outdoors store" so companies like Jansport etc have a larger incentive than holster companies to make bum-bags that are small and stylish.
Love the vids... Dont think the fanny fits into anykind of cool though.. a nice system if you dont mind losing the cool points... Might opt for a small camera bag, one that fits over shoulder or with a belt slide through... and think camera bags are more common and would draw less attention... tks
i really hope your joking, but if your not your better off using a backpack because even if you find a fanny pack that big that guns weight plus extra ammo is going to tear that thing apart.
The only people who wear fanny packs are people that carry guns. There used to be a time where enough people wore fanny packs, where you could blend in. That is no longer the case. You might as well teach me how to transform a Members Only jacket into a build a cross-draw holster.
I like your videos but I dont agree on carrying a pistol in a fanny pack or an elasticised waist belt. I have been held up and you dont have time to unzip or mess about. A gun should be kept in the waist belt just behind the arm, at the back or in front slightly to one side. My favourite is the back, most robbers when searching the victim in the panic will not frisk the back just the sides and front giving you a chance when they arent expecting it.
-and my main question would be what do you think about ''Dragon Skin'' body armor ?
P.S. BIG FAN !! And keep up the great work :) PM ME PLEASE IF U DONT WANT TO MAKE A VIDEO ON THAT :) . What would you advice for guys like me , guards ,club guards. Big strong guys.Any web where I could look something up ?
damnit, now I really have to watch out... lol great vid, nice ideas,Im not the fanny pack type of guy...but this very much so changes my opinion on them, very nice.
I think fanny packs are ok if you want something smaller to carry your stuff other than a backpack if your on vacation or at the beach. That my opinion.
I started using the mountainsmith lumbar system after your ROL EDC video and so many "friends" starting making comments. Thanks for this video, reassures my decision.
Shoulder holsters are great and I like them a lot: Fast and secure. The fanny pack option is just that, an option to carry perhaps a larger gun without altering your dress. Some shoulder holsters, with small guns like PPK, can disappear under the shirt.
Yeah when your little princess is bleeding out on the floor fro a gunshot wound... There i will be with my fanny pack with soochers and quick clot. Whos the one that looks stupid now? love the vid nutn'

the beautiful thing is for the hipster sheepdog like me (not sure how many of us are out there) fanny packs are back in style! Why? because its cool to be uncool.

I use a solder bag under the shirt.. why because it cant be easly stolen
haha48 2 years ago
if you carry a big gun that is fine, nutn even says the bigger the better for the most part, but the thing with bigger guns is that you leave them at home more often than smaller guns, thats the point he is making is that he wants you to always carry
Maloner78 2 years ago
I always thought the 1911 was a great carry gun because it's thin. Even though I can hide it easy because I have a big body it still pulls garmet if it's in the right spot. Believe it or not my favorite pocket pistol is... Beretta's 85. Yeah it's small and lady like but it's a really cool gun.
PopcornCoolie 2 years ago
Yep, go ahead and call me a fag, it wouldn't be the first time. Go ahead call me eccentric, I probably am. But you cant call me unarmed because I will be carrying for sure. :)
Timisso1337 2 years ago
You can sew strong belt loops on the back of these packs and solve many problems...it even lowers the dorkneyness! Just a tip!

KimberTrace 2 years ago 6
Outstanding! Unfortunately I bought one of the others to find out how the darn thing was made so that I could build my own. It was $20.

How about this for an idea? For us FULL figure guys, that are worried about imprinting of concealed carry weapons. Use the pack to hide the inside the waistband holsters.

People that ridicule belt packs either don't know what they're talking about or they just never had a chance to wear a nice quality pack.

nutnfancy, you are awesome man, i wish i could fire off some rounds with you. thank you for all your vids man, very informative!

I don't get it nutfancy, Germans don't use these fucking blunders. You must have had a bad experience while in Florida or something. I'm over 95%, dare I say 100% German with relatives in Germany. any fanny pack screams gun! in my opinion you might as well carry open instead of carrying in a fanny pack being that you have been made already by anybody with a half of a brain. of course that is if the law allows you to open carry.

Well somtimes it mite be good to let people assume your packing a gun.. maybe it could help avoid a problem ?

Hmm, I'm thinking about this from an economics perspective. Although there are many gun owners in the world, there are comparatively few conceal carry and even fewer who consider a bum-bag or "fanny pack" as you call them.
But mountaineering and wilderness utility is a much larger industry, almost every town in the western world has a high street "outdoors store" so companies like Jansport etc have a larger incentive than holster companies to make bum-bags that are small and stylish.

Love the vids... Dont think the fanny fits into anykind of cool though.. a nice system if you dont mind losing the cool points... Might opt for a small camera bag, one that fits over shoulder or with a belt slide through... and think camera bags are more common and would draw less attention... tks

The only people who wear fanny packs are people that carry guns. There used to be a time where enough people wore fanny packs, where you could blend in. That is no longer the case. You might as well teach me how to transform a Members Only jacket into a build a cross-draw holster.

Totally leftfield and off the wall and unexpected, original review/video!
Very relevant, very nessesary and very nutnfancy.
Why is there a crusade by fashion types against such a useful carry system?
If gucci made them, they would rock!
P.S. Here in Scotland, fanny means vagina, not a bum! LOL (we call them bum-bags)
sc00ny 3 years ago
I like your videos but I dont agree on carrying a pistol in a fanny pack or an elasticised waist belt. I have been held up and you dont have time to unzip or mess about. A gun should be kept in the waist belt just behind the arm, at the back or in front slightly to one side. My favourite is the back, most robbers when searching the victim in the panic will not frisk the back just the sides and front giving you a chance when they arent expecting it.
Keep the reviews coming excellent videos.

Shoulder holsters are great and I like them a lot: Fast and secure. The fanny pack option is just that, an option to carry perhaps a larger gun without altering your dress. Some shoulder holsters, with small guns like PPK, can disappear under the shirt.
