Why is that one mother so against cutting her daughters hair? It is crazy long & the little girl probably just doesnt want to look like a hippie. It would look great if it was at her shoulders, or atleast just going halfway down her back. Right now she is sitting on it, its so long.

@TheRealMidori she did, which sucks. But my hair didn't get easier to handle just because she permed it, my hair just wasn't that kind of hair. Eventually she taught me how to do it, because she didn't have a lot of time. All the moms on my block would braid their daughters' hairs and then they didn't have to do it for weeks...that's healtheir than perms I think. If she doesn't know what to do with her child's hair, she needs to do a little research instead of picking the easiest option.

Kalayshia's tresses are BEAUTIFUL! However, I do think Mary should trim her hair an inch or two and/or put it in a long braid or secure bun. That way, kids can't bother it and Kalaysia can roughhouse and play sports at P.E. without getting it dirty or caught.

is something that is fake, at the end of the day the hair that grows out of your head is and will always be curly. you should never hate what is a part of you. if you want relaxed hair, want it because its just another way for your hair to be styled not because you despise the very hair that grows out of your own head. i love it when other ethnicities rock what they were naturally born with i admire them for that, but i dont want it, it just makes me want to rock my own natural(ness) you know?

I just think black hair couldn't be more hideous, long wavy blow-in-the -wind hair is just so beautiful to me. Short, tight, coarse hair to me is the epitome of ugly. As an actual texture, what is so beautiful about it? Its different but not in a good way, its uglier than every other hair texture. Sorry to say it.

@lovemeloveyou011 its wonderful becuase it is our hair and very unique to us, it is beautiful and because we have it doesnt make us less than anybody else, i dont get it, other ethnicities like our hair, we seem to be our own worst criticizer. many other ethnicities buy many volumising products and we have that volume naturally......questioning God about disabilities and diseases is something i understand but last i checked our hair does not reduce us in any way shape or form, so why question?

@tyaV1 To be honest I will always feel this way about our hair, I prefer the long, flowing soft hair texture that other races have. I have always preferred long wavy hair I think thats beautiful and that is my preference. I am not going to feel guilty for disliking my own hair. Our hair texture is unique but in my opinion its not in a good way. i just think its disgusting and I can not feel sorry for that,, I'll never show the world my natural hair, i will hide it away because its ugly.

I don't get perm but I still like mi hair it's nice and long and pretty even wen it's curly. I wore my hair out in like a controlled Afro to school with 2 flower headbands and everyone complimented me. @TheRealMidori she did, which sucks. But my hair didn't get easier to handle just because she permed it, my hair just wasn't that kind of hair. Eventually she taught me how to do it, because she didn't have a lot of time. All the moms on my block would braid their daughters' hairs and then they didn't have to do it for weeks...that's healtheir than perms I think. If she doesn't know what to do with her child's hair, she needs to do a little research instead of picking the easiest option.

I don't understand it. Just because someone married a person of an other race and have a bi-racial baby, it doesn't mean that they have to love everything that is different from themselves. I love that 5 year old girl who has really long hair.
