the bmw makes 193 bhp not sure if thats at the rear wheel or crank, probably crank.

my bike zx636r makes 116, the bmw is about ten kilos lighter than my bike and my bike IS fast just think about it........plus its got a mad electronics package like abs, anti wheelie , launch control, traction control which is the biggie coz if you got that you can just hold the throttle wide open and you cant fall off

as far as im aware last year the bmw was the fastest set of wheels going , however the new kwaka is pretty much undefeated in a straight line(zzr1400 in the uk) but they make about the same bhp so round a circuit the bm would probably do the kwaka, the real test is on the road though and im sure a decent rider on a zzr 1400 would nail them from the lights when the bends come we are back to square one ( ten seconds to type and ten minutes to take out the drunk spellings)

I'd like to know where exactly you're getting your information from because I've never even heard of the BMW being mentioned amongst the top contenders for fastest production bike.. not saying it isn't just saying I've never heard or read it anywhere.. Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda usually top the list in their respective categories... last I heard the Honda CBR1000RR set the record for fastest production bike in 2011 for the 1000cc category in Bonneville.

IMHO, m/c elegance is defined by a flowing harmony, stating eloquence with a simple but unique design, combining utilitarianism with the form of function. The pictured Beemer is a Teutonic engineering masterpiece, but ELEGANCE certainly doesn't come to my mind!
