Talking from my own observations of Cafcass. Allowing children "free-will" to decide where they live and who they live with (I was naieve until the age of 21) is not always in the best interest of the child.

However, it is in the best interest of the Legal Services Commission and the Legal Aid Provision set aside by the Government.

Cafcass Officers (not legally trained and have no concept of legal principles) and hold more sway than the presiding lay magistrates (I have my view of anything "lay" in court) Their reports read as if written by a five year old and are untruthful and innacurate. What Socialist introduced corruption is this burgeoning in the very heart of the English(!?!) Judicial System? This is far more insidious and sinister than European Law could ever be and a threat to our basic liberties.

Personally I think an assumption of "shared-care" at the very outset of a marriage (they do this in Australia?) is the best policy. The one we have now is Dickensian. I admire the b***s of "Fathers4Justice" (excuse the pun - not intended), at least they are getting the issues out there being discussed - which is what is needed! Less pussyfooting with Cafcass beaureacrats and more very essential activism please.

Basic principles ARE worth this.

CAFCASS are a nightmare......if you're a Dad that is.

They are inept at the task they are given by the court and are highly biased against Dads.

They cause massive amounts of delay in the court process and add no real, tangible evidence for many of their recommendations. They do not check or make records on the child after the court process, so why is it claimed to be in the best intersts of the child?? WELL DONE TONY- from SPIDERMAN on harmans roof!!!
