  • He is so cute! ;>

  • glows like a neon light

  • wow. 1080p high definition video.

  • its like floating into nowhere. i wonder wut that feels like.

  • Very ugly, but interesting!

  • tron!!!!!

  • I want that fish for my aquarium!

  • I want one!

  • did you upload the part about attracting a mate or is this a cliffhanger?

  • that fish is cool as fuck :)

  • This is fake. The only thing that is lit or show any kind of light on the Anglerfish is the "angler" that is on THE FEMALE ANGLER'S head. This is all rubbish.

  • @Fromabrokenlead oh you've seen them in persn before? You must have to be the decisive fact giver on the subject.

  • We know more about Space, then we know about our OWN ocean...

  • Is this video stuck or something??? Bad quality but try to be better next time PLEASE!!!

  • omg it too bright!

  • dude, this video was shot with a phone with poor camera

  • @turbomaximus1966 Good detective work.

  • @cobolt13 fuck you

  • @turbomaximus1966 Thank's. What's your sex life like.

  • loser..

  • Dude you just took a video and made a poor quality poor sound quality of it and showed it to everyone!

  • lol agreed

  • lets hope they choose to stay there..

  • Please, PLEASE for the love of youtube, get the equipment and learn how to do do real video transfer. Pointing your camcorder at your TV = FAIL.

  • Thermochemical reaction, similar to a firefly.

  • how does the fish make his thing glow?

  • Likely has a symbiotic relationship with a bacteria.

  • chemical reactions that let off light

  • Something to do with bacteria getting in and symbiosis taking place or something like that.

  • I really wanna learn more about deep sea creatures. Deep sea creatures scare me but still I wanna know more about them.

  • why is the pressure at the bottom is intense

  • r u serious, dude cause the entire weight of all that water is pushing down on you. You can just imagine what it must feel like, dive down like 20 feet, and youl start to feel the pressure as pain in your ears, the deeper you get the more it starts hurting

  • "dive down like 20 feet, and youl start to feel the pressure as pain in your ears"

    That`s manageable,

  • what intrigues me is how the HELL do they live in such intense water pressure which can crush mankind's mightiest sea vessels?

  • Check out its anatomy. It explains everything.

  • A better question is how could such organisms survive being brought to the surface.

Some of them explode due to the decompression.

  • thats crazy, and yet it makes perfect sense.

  • Chambered nautilus live at around 800 meters.

But its been found that they rise to shallower waters to forage on the deep fores during the night. They are very sensitive to light and quite shy. They seem to have some sort of built in biological decompression system..

Weird thing is they still seem to just explode when there brought up by people.

Id imagen it would be completely impossible to bring up certain Ctenophores and Cnidarians due to how fragile they are.

  • in a few years they will find a way to bring all these animals up, we did find out how to land on the moon didint we ;)

  • Some scientists already Bring up some deep sea organisms.

They have specialized Specimen containers that can retain the Pressure, unfortunately the long term care of animals like deep sea Ctenophores or cnidaria and even some fishes is a long way off.

Much the requirements of these organisms long term health are not fully understood or we don`t have sufficient technology to accommodate the animals needs.

  • @HitMan1263 Yeh. Camera's, Studio, And some Grey nomad.

  • Its all about pressure Differential.

Submarines do not have compressed cabins,

If they did then the pressure would lessen, But that has its own share of problems.

For one, The sub would be less buoyant and

two, It would take many hours for you to leave the submarine, "decomp is a bitch"

Basically you would have the same issue Divers have when they Ascend to quickly, "nitrogen narcosis" Which may require a day or more in a Hyperbaric chamber.

  • yeah i think i get what your saying.

  • Who's the fucken retard giving everyone thumbs down? heh watch, the lil bitch will do it to my comment too.

  • Marine organisms tend to have Equal pressure in and out of there bodies.

  • no shit. all living things on earth have equal pressure in and out of there bodies )

  • BLOODY HELL. SO SCARY. :(

  • so sick , i wanna know more of the fishes from the deep , wondrr what kinda monsters there would be on the very bottom , damn , i realy wanna know , prolly friking scary fish man

  • heh the deep sea angler is but one of them. message me ill let u in on what i know :)

  • Humans are naturally scared of things we don't understand.

  • To be honest. Based on fish like these, I think we should finish exploring our planet before we move on to others.

  • true so true

  • Wow those are really amazingly interesting creatures. look like some science fiction monsters. it´s kinda weird that us humans know much more about the universe than about the deep sea, isn´t it.

ps: if you´re depressive and want to drown yourself in the deepest ocean just imagine this fishes coming near you and feast on your flesh. i think nobody would want that even if he wants to die ;)

  • ....i really hate the sea bottom....it makes me wanna freak...there are so many mysterious things.....and scary things....

  • join the club, i hate fuckin whales

  • Why, got some Ahab complex, because some whale bit you in the ass?

  • Ho...well they weren't exaggerating much in Finding Nemo were they? D:

Eerie...but pretty at the same time.

    I feel happy...which is a big deal...for me..

    (Gets eaten)

Lol nice video. Very cool ^^

  • man...... i piss my pants off my legs....(thats how scard i was when i sae him)

  • my piranha will eat him alive!!

  • 1 Piranha? Hah. No chance. You should see it trying to kill a fish WITHOUT using the lure.

  • what you mean 1 piranha no? a piranha is faster and smarter then a angle fish stupid, if they could ever live in the same type of water i am sure a piranha will kill you even if its 1 v 1. angler might win if its 2x bigger.

  • i so want that for a pet

  • too cool

  • those anglers fishes are the most extreme fishes i have ever seen. they are quite frighjtening. we cn hope to see a film in near future about them ,just like "the anglers".

  • fishes. lmao

  • Omg hands down the scariest fish I have ever seen...

  • All fish that give out light lived at the deepest darkest of the ocean.Even the prawn give out light there.

  • it looks very unearthly

  • And that is why you don't swim in the waters of the planet Naboo.

  • LMFAO!!! STARWARS!!

  • perfect and no need for batteries!! this can be a renewable source man

  • SUCKY QUALITY

  • so beautiful!

  • i want to have it as my pet. how come they dont try to fish them out form the deep sea. I know when they come up in the deep sea the pressure of the water change the fish can get shock and die if they got pull out very quick but the fishermen could like take 3 meters up the sea each day to make the fish adapt to lower pressure water. I know it will take like months but y dont they try it.

  • you can always get the other kind

  • they are not for pet, they deserve to live freely in the deep ocean

  • they can be for pet the reason they cant be pet because they are hard to catch them a live. mostly they die when they come up form the deep sea form fisher men. dont forget most of the pets today also came form the wild and some are bred to be tame like specie that cant be found in the wild. if u say they deserve to live freely y dont other animals today we have for pet deserve to live freely?

  • because those kind of fish arent adapted to the light their adapted to the darkness. their eyes are pitch black. and they are only active in waters of 1000-6000 meters below sea. their adapted to the bitter cold waters and to bring them into warm waters or an environment can kill them. btw if u wanna learn more about them fish u can ask me cause i no some info about them.

  • Deep sea angler fish are so fascinating. Some breeds can look creepy too

  • the anglerfish live in the trenchs

  • very nice :)

  • Okay first of all, didn't you have a batter way to record this than video taping the TV? and second, it does not live at the bottom of the sea! it lives at about a mile deep. the deepest part of the ocean is 7 miles.

  • This could well be at the bottom of the ocean... Not all oceans are 7 miles deep... on the contrary...

  • The deepest point of the ocean is 7 miles deep. When it is completely black, it is about 800 meeters at the bottom of the ocean

  • actually in some areas the sea is only one and a half miles deep

  • There is a better version of this on Youtube, I havent seen it in a couple weeks, but it still should be here, they go on longer than this, into theyre bizarre mating rituals and whatnot.

  • who here beleavs the the megalodon still lives but in the trench were prihistoric eviroments still exist

  • interesting I think I get nighmares now

  • Deep-sea fish are probably some of the best fish ever. Those are the most bizzare. They look like alens, almost. Good vid!

  • SEXY

  • LOL

  • if i was a fishy id totally go for that...

  • Wow, someone really ticked that fish off.

  • ee!

  • That fish could rave with me.

  • HELLA

    that'd be SWEET

  • LOL

  • cool

  • trippy ass fish.

  • hey if you go to the deep sea below the whole entire bottom of the ocean, will you find fish that may have been extinct during the dinosaur era???????? please reply...

  • We will never now... Well maybe someday T,T

  • They say that more is known about the moon and it's surface than the whole entire bottom of the ocean.

  • Yes, there is a possiblilty. The ancient Coelicanth was found in the midnight zone.

  • This fuckin fish is scary as hell, but so cool... I just watched finding nemo... thought id take a look at the real thing, they depicted it well in the film!

PS stop the God exisiting debates... its so last century.

  • 1:09 2 1:16 kool :)

  • Is it filmed in the big trench

  • thanks for the video! because of this, i finally saw a real one... y'know not just from "Finding Nemo".. :)

  • People ask "are there such things as aliens?" but if you think about it, look at this fish, and the octopus...They seem alien to me.

  • Fish would die if they went to shallower water. Their bodies are made to live in the extreme pressure. If the pressure suddenly decreased, they would die.

  • The angler fish is a example because if the anger fish comes even near the angler fish would explode. If u can see the water from the ground of the ocean the angler will die from there if u cant see the water from the ground there might be anglers near u. U can find a angler fish in the pacific Ocean

  • Thanks for the upload. Deep sea angler fish are so fascinating.=] Some breeds can look creepy though.

  • ...

  • my favorite fish of all time!

  • Funny how looking at a video like this gets people talking about God and Science.

  • I believe in science by the way..not god, sorry.

  • Also I took a test and I belong in the 6th level of hell so don't give me this heaven crap...

  • took that test too, i belong to the 8th cicle of hell dude...

  • Yeah, all my friends got the 8th level...Masturbation got me on the 6th :O

  • Except for Elitests, Extremests, and people who think that all other religons are wrong. Kill those people :)

  • Why does every YouTube video have a flame war in it?

    EXAMPLE:

    "I believe in god!"

"You believe in god? WELL I FUCKING GO TO HELL MOFO!!!!111!11111oneoneoneeleven..."

People just need to respect other peoples religons...

  • Why the deeper you go the more monster looking animals you see?

  • Well think about it, say by some miracle we live at the bottom of the sea. We would be used to all these deep sea creatures obviously. But if we went to the surface, we'de think that things like sharks, or fish and land animals are weird. therefore you would say "why the higher you go, the more monster looking animals you get?"

  • hey if those fish came up to shallow water they would think the same...right?

  • lol i know hehe

  • Whoa! Does that live in the bathypelagic or abyssopelagic?

  • Man that's some scary animal. It makes me think we just have seen a glimpse of what's lurking in the depths of Earth's biosphere.

  • How about we stop arguing about whether or not some divine being exists and just enjoy the damn video? :[

    Eee anglerfish. <3

  • if god didn't exist, we would have never been here, there would be no animals, everything, even the atoms, absolutely everything is god's creaction,

god made you all, god watches you all, and god loves you all, plz just belive him and you will go to heaven someday

  • Heaven is where you want it to be. So is hell. Some people live through their personal hell. God is everything, including us, so we are god too. Therefore we are creators of our own destiny.

  • Amen, praise Jesus. The power of christ compels you!

  • How beautiful and yet horrifying. Somehow this makes me think of heaven and hell at the same time in the same space. Im not a good poet but would love to hear from someone who is and can do a verse on this vid.

  • "the alluring light of assurance is the last light of life"-hows that

  • very nice. that'll work. thanks

  • I like what you said better, "Somehow this makes me think of heaven and hell at the same time in the same space." That was profound.

  • Thank you. Your very kind.

  • its gods creation which is always beautful but its so fricken rare its discusting :)

  • How can it be god's creation when god doesn't exist?

  • dude thats cold

  • If god dosent exist...than who created the particles

that possibly created the big bang. If god dosent exist than why are we all here and what about existence.

  • I really hope you're joking. Fucking idiot.

  • Who says existence was created? I respect all opinions, but I do have my arguments.

  • raddest looking fish next to the viperfish. truly an awesome species-design.

  • THAT IS FUUUCKED UP!

  • If i was a fish , id be stupid enough to bite that light too . lol

  • This footage is taken from "The Deep" an episode of "The Blue Planet" a documentary that was shown in The UK in 2001. Angler fish are very interesting animals, I know a lot about them, but they are hard to learn about, becuase their habitat is so under explored.

  • heebie jeebie! I've seen this thing in my nightmares.

  • To all those saying "I want one", there's no way...

    1) That it could safely be transported to the surface, you know, water pressure and all.

    2) That you could reproduce the kind of environment the angler needs.

    They are AWESOME fish though

  • Exactly the one seen in Finding Nemo! Interesting! Not always nice to see light in the dark! (If you know what I mean)

  • you can't even see it very good.

    that camera sucks

  • lots of these vids are from blue planet

  • hey, do you know what the original documentary was called? it sounds lie attenborough & i really want to see it in full :D

  • shes a big girl isnt she?

  • holy shit that thing is sick!

  • can you buy these? i want one.

  • lol, it would look nice in my aquarium

  • Guys calm down. They only eat scraps from the surface that float down....and small creatures from the darkzone. they can get you

  • Almost every deep sea fish loks very creepy! And seeing them as in that video it is even more creepy

  • god that things creepy. it looked like a bubble with creepy eyes and creepy teeth. and to think of what others look like!

  • and the fish really looks scary with its big jaw sticking out with its sharp teeth... i loved these fish sence 1st grade lol

  • thats creepy

  • this fish is amazing and scary at the same time espically its freakin teeth

  • i've been fascinated by this fish ever since i saw a picture of it in an encyclopedia when i was a little kid.

such an amazing (and frightening) creature!

  • lol i live those things they look so evil.

  • That was awesome... but scary.

Are there any huge ones. or are those just in nightmares?

  • im sure there are ALOT bigger ones

  • The largest known is only a couple feet. The majority are very tiny.

  • anything that has to do with deep seas and deep sea fish scares the crap out of me

  • whoa! that was crazy! i aagree with ZAG ^_^

  • OMFG this was my favorite animal forever and i always tried to study it but no one seems to know much bout it. i say we stop wasting money to send people into space and we stop wasting time, money, and ppls lives over in iraq and we use some money for research about our planet like the whole global warming thing and this for instance this is some really kool footage and i want more now!

  • it would terrify me to catch an angler fish
