Look, I'm a LAKERS fan for life and this is one of the sweetest Lakers moments of all time, but it does seem really weird that he takes 9 steps in this sequence (count all the steps he takes in the video) and puts the ball on the floor 3 times (count the number of times he dribbles). Then again this is slowed down big time and in real-time it would be much harder to notice something like this in such a tense moment of such a big game.

The dribble doesn't end on the last bounce, it ends when the player picks up the ball, i.e. when the ball is prevented from it's natural course of downward movement once reaching it's apex.
