I volunteered up at the heifer in Massachusetts once. Quite the experience, learning about the major difference they make. And then I got a flock of chickens donation for my birthday! Congrats on getting the ark!

I'm a Senior in Girl Scouts but whenever I bring up a great idea ot help people it goes against the rules of GS so my options and ideas are very very limited. It sucks! I want to raise money..nope can't do that. I want to help some organization for my journey for gold award, no I don't think I can do that either. It sucks but oh well. I guess I just have to do it on my own with help but not for GS. GS can't stop me from helping others!

This video gave me a really good topic different from everyone else's. We have to make a presentation on an aid organization and this is PERFECT. Also, so many people think they just instantly slaughter the animals, and hate the heifer project, but there wrong because heifer makes sure they don't :P biased nubs. Heh Heh...... yea ummm ok, so here's the deal.... Take a nice juicy cow, airlift it into the area where the starving people are.....

Instruct them on how to milk the cow, breed it, pass off the offspring etc etc....

I'd say about 15 minutes after you're gone, that fuckin cow is a ghost....

And many indigenous, blood stained hands will be carrying fresh meat back to their mud/grass hut. But hey that still counts as feeding starving people so cool...!

Are you people like... stupid? A cow? How can a cow change the life of the community? Those animals can not possibly survive in Africa, and there aren't many places with starving people, where they can't allow to buy milk, but they do have a place for the animal. And another thing - the animal products are extremely cheap and you can't profit much from selling them. So... this is an easy way to calm yourself and suppress the guilt by showing that you have helped the world!

i can't do this.. being humanitarian isn't an instant gratification. how can you guarantee the livestock won't be stolen or die from external causes? in areas that they are shipping to, crime rates are higher and the availability of healthcare for humans much less animals is minimal. thus the issue of civilians becoming more susceptible to being lactose intolerant.. i guess this is better than nothing, but the success rate is doubtful..

i think directly donating currency would be more worthwhile than shipping animals which aren't in the best of conditions anyway considering the type of transport used. it's a great concept, but i think it lacks a lot of tangibility. I really love watching your vids meekakitty, and there should be more kind unassuming people like you in the world. please research everything you read or hear of and make a bigger impact! :D
