No, Hungarians are not Slavic, they are in Ugro-Finnish language group. Hungarian language is not similar to any other language in Europe and especially Central Europe region. This dissimilarity is strange and shows that they don't have any language connection to nations in they neighbourhood. This fact causes that Hungarians are not so popular in ther neigbours - they're simply strange, differen.
When my friend was in Budapes, he lost himself in tube. He forgot name of station where he wanted to get out. So he get out somewhere. He didn't know where he is, how to get to hotel and what was the worst, he couldn't ask people for help because everyone spoke only Hungarian, no English. After more than half of hour in summer warm afternoon, he found somebody young who spoke English. He told me that this was his worst experience in his life - right hell on Earth!
