  • omg i havent heard these dudes without stan; after the opening guitar riff i was like nice this is gonna sound good then the duran wannabe chimed in. still like it but its not close to the original

  • Their live album with Andy Prieboy is realy terrific.

  • Andy Prieboy is a Genius..don't worry mate, i was there in the corner at Port Leagues in the 90's (australia) and you gave it your all...I ALONE appreciated that..if no one else even knew who's presence they were in...ian chafer-prodigal sons

  • I always felt Andy brought a lot to the table. The band changed, but I like his style and his solo works hold up, too.

  • No Stan, no Voodoo.

  • This is such a good video. And I want his hair.

  • Love the lyrics to all their songs. so different almost no ryming is fantastic

  • Que noches en La Cage cuando pinchaban este tema. La musica es la mejor forma de regresión a los buenos momentos de los "good old days".

  • what show is this?

  • Agreed....WOV w/o Stan is weak...sounds like a cover band at a local bar.

  • The original Wall of Voodoo is one of the most under-rated bands in history. But not this version of them. WOV without Stan is like The Doors without Jim. I do dig this song though. :-)

  • Agreed.

  • I really like the version on the ugly americans album, but I don't have it anymore, bummer.

  • @skiffmanmike All available on iTunes now!

  • ..Could'nt find Bullhead City?......ever heard of a map..lol

  • It's a shame Prieboy doesn't get more recognition... he's a rare talent.

Both of his solo LPs, "...Upon My Wicked Son" and "Sins Of Our Fathers" come highly recommended - not to mention the newer stuff you can get on his site.

  • This album is awesome. I only found out tonight Prieboy took aver from Stan. love this album

  • @flatarc

I agree with you. He seems so shy on the interview. Doesn't say a word. But his voice in the band...

  • 3:00

  • Priceless recording.

  • One of their bests songs was...

    "Elvis bought Doris a Cadillac"

but I can't find it anywhere. If anyone else does can you please message me?

    :)

  • All the Prieboy era albums are available digitally through itunes or Amazon depending on where you live!

  • This is the first time I've come across a video interveiw with Chas T. Gray. Everytime I try to find something about him on the net, the only stuff that I find are updates on Stan or Andy. I know Bruce M. has a MySpace page with updates (which are nice..& slightly eerie at the same time). I wish I could find more on Chas T. Gray though :(. He was in The Skulls, WOV, & Nervous WO Gender, but afterward he dropped off into obscurity behind the scenes somewhere in the film industry (I think).

  • a dark spaghetti wester

  • SWEET!!!! 5 stars very good

  • I WANT MY EIGHTIES BACK !!!

  • It's great how we all love different songs from Seven Days... My favourite is Tragic Vaudeville...

I had never seen a video from the WoV untile today (I think they never broadcast them in Italy) ... it's such an emotion!

  • Wall of Voodoo Rock! I wish their back catalogue was available in Australia. This song has always stuck with me since l heard it on the radio as a young boy.

  • This song has always struck a chord with ME. One of the few that does it properly.

    Thanks heaps for the posting.

  • This is a great song, But my favorite will always be This Buisness of Love (with Prieboy)

  • yep, in my top 10! (uk)

  • Love them...Ridgeway...Prieboy....all brilliant.

  • I guess I'm kind of a "purist" when it comes to WOV, but this song stuck in my head, I'm gonna have to go look for my dusty old cassette of this album, I liked "Blackboard Sky" off it as well.

  • It says on Wikipedia that Mexican radio was there only hit ever. But today I went to the shops and saw an 80's compilation DVD with this song on it. But I'm Australian maybe the Band was more popular over here than in the US.

  • All the best US bands were more popular in Australia than USA.

  • This song is in my top 100. That might not sound so good, but if you appreciate I have thousands of songs I appreciate, my top 100 is a very selective batch indeed.

  • Thanks for posting - this is my favorite song of all time.

  • first punk show I saw was eye protection

  • miss them. some things just shouldn't change.

  • "A mortal enemy of man"........

  • ....one more thing, I have the 12-inch single of 'Far Side of Crazy' whichit includes my favorite ever Voodoo song, 'Dance you F*ckers!', which would make for a priceless extra track on any Wall of Voodoo re-release!

  • I loved Stan Ridgeway, but the Prieboy version of the band worked for me as well. I saw them on this tour back in 1980-something and they were great. I wish ANY version of this band would reform, although the late Marc Moreland would be sorely missed. His Spaghetti-Western style guitar work was pretty effin' cool! Now, if ANYONE would just re-release 'Dark Continent', as well as THIS on CD, all will be right with the world!

  • one of my fav songs of all time. I have the album and still gets a flogging.

  • Thanks for sharing this great music and video clip. Have'nt seen this since it came out in the 80's.

  • Ned Leukhardt (drums/percussion) is now living in Oslo Norway. Playing in a band called: Toini & the Tomcats. He also have a restaurant in Oslo, named: Mucho Mas. Serving Great Mexican food.

  • I was looking for this video/song for years.

I heard it in the 80´s...

  • I loved this song when it came out and the video and I still love it! thanks for sharing it.

  • He looks a lot like Syd Barrett in this video.

    Cool song.

  • I never heard this song until about an hour ago. Awesome lyrics. I keep replaying the line "..can't stay a boy in no man's land." That line has a lot of meaning. Excellent song.

  • I though WoV was dead when Stan left. Then I saw them live in Paso Robles, CA. After that, I decided Andy Prieboy was better than Stan. Harder, edgier, cooler, just generally more badass. Seven Days in Sammystown is WoVs best album.

  • This band was the buisines

    Goth orriginals

Played this number to death in '87 when I was deedjaying

  • SWEET!!!!

  • 5 stars very good

  • Omg...this is great! I'm checking this page out extensively if that's an Oingo Bingo name I'm staring at :0)

  • Fantastic!

    Thoght the clip was lost!

    Cheers

    "The Hop"

  • What the hell is this? Were they trying to be like that pussymetal band RATT after Stan left? This is not the WOV I came to dig. WOV is not WOV without the throbbing synth work. Prieboy was such a genius that WOV with him as frontman has more fans than with Stan as frontman? I think not.

  • Hey Racer. My reaction the first time I heard the new lineup of WOV was the exact same as yours here. Now, I gotta tell you, I'm as big a WOV fan as anyone. Were they better with Stan? I think so. But if you manage to get a hold of any of this later lineup, they were also great in their own way. "Blackboard Sky", "Wrong Way to Hollywood" and "Tragic Vaudeville" are outstanding and highly underrated songs. Not the same WOV, but worth checking out.

  • Andy Prieboy is a fucking genius

He fit Wall o0f Voodoo like a glove

  • what a true new wave classic gem, i cant believe this even existed!1 I have been looking for years for this video..thank you..

  • Grandi grandi...gruppi cosi...non ne nascono più

  • stan WAS wov. however, this song still rocks

  • when did directors begin to realize that just because it will be on a tube does not automatically make it uh worth watching, or have they

  • it's soo sad that music can't be original today

  • Well, as soon as Ridgeway left, everything went downhill. Is this a hairband? Hard to tell. Maybe the plan was to replace accomplished songwriting with styling mousse.

  • And... is it just me, or was Wall of Voodoo like the weird western brother of Oingo Boingo!?

  • vernian, you may be right.

the very first concert i went to was Wall of Voodoo opening for Oingo Boingo

  • Was it somewhere in LA? Shit I might have been there!

  • Awesome! I love this song, it's a totally different sound then the Ridgeway sung albums, but still really sweet. Like twangy Goth/New Wave.

  • Love this song. Best Wall Of Voodoo piece ever made.

  • Loved this album when it came out... but still have a thing for Stan...

  • Excellent, but I think he's full of crap. I grew up near Bullhead City and I've never heard of Sammystown. And of course, they did another Bullhead City gag a few years later on "The Ugly Americans"...I remember checking the B.C. phonebook looking for Big Joe's Bar & Grill or wherever that was supposed to be recorded. It didn't exist, and of course it was later revealed that the Bullhead stuff was leftover studio tracks made to sound live.

  • The lead singer looks just like Syd barrett former lead singer/writer of Pink floyd

  • I'll be! I think you're right. Never noticed that before.

  • I refer to another viewer's comment that Andy looks like Syd Barrett

  • never the same without Stan

  • I've never seen this video before. Thanks you! Good to see the Andy line-up in video. Surprising that Andy lets Chas do all the talking.

  • What a flashback - where on earth did this come from?! thank you so much. One of my all time favourite songs and albums. I was just reading somewhere else that Far Side of Crazy was written by Andy Prieboy about the crazyman John Hinkley and the poems he wrote Jodie Foster.

  • Call of the West is my favorite record, but I got to admitt that even this record is so good, with all those western rocking sounds!

  • Great!!

I remember only one time, that I´ve seen this video on German TV it was a show called "Formel 1" and i bought the single. It´s just laying here next to me and I remember to great times and the b-side wrong way to hollywood.

    Regards from Germany

  • loved this song the first time i heard it thanks for uploading!!

  • The intro was used beautifully in a rather unsung little film (IMO) titled Head Office w/ Judge Reinhold, Rick Moranis, Danny Devito, etc. I have always heard that guitar twang when walking down the street in a trench coat.

  • I remember this album and it had a lot of good tracks on it..I went looking for the CD and I don't think there is one. Anyone know where I could get a copy or mp3?

  • I got mine off emule...you can download the whole album there.

  • These guys are so cool compared to the performers of today !

  • It's all good. This album rocks ( makes a great driving cd ). Stan's solo work is solid. And all the early work rocks. I'd rather listen to any titles from WOV than any of the new rock groups.

  • I haven't seen this in so long... cool to see The Old Trapper Motel again... If I remember correctly, Marina del Rey from Vivabeat, another band from the time produced it... Great clip!!!

  • Why does the video cut off as soon as the song starts?

  • oh and whats up with the elements in the video from the mexican radio video? weak

  • sorry....it ended when stan left...i dont care for this lineup and i dont care for stan solo....i like em together, the way it should be

  • I love this video and the album. Absolute GREAT !!!

  • I prefer the Andy Preiboy Wall of voodoo, not to take away anything from Stan.7 days in Sammys town is one overlooked amazing album

  • gotta agree with you there. 'Sammystown' is one of the best and most underrated albums ever made.

  • This is so awsome ! really glad you uploaded this WOV song, I have been looking for it online for ages.

  • AWESOME video!! Thanks for posting it!! Always fantastic to see footage of the awesome Moreland brothers performing together.

  • great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was the summer of 89 and both W0V with Andy and Stan alone were playing LA. Only then could you hear TWO versions of red light and back in flesh. They fought about who wrote what song. Andy's quite a songwriter in his own right. Thanks! Hellione are you out there?

  • OMG, I hadn't seen this in ages - great!!!

  • Thank you for posting this gem. I adore Andy Prieboy and, more importantly, my boyfriend has been searching for this for ten years or so - he remembers the original broadcast with Richard Blade. Our all time favourite video. Thank you.

  • Wow, I never saw this before. Thanks for uploading it! ;)

  • Not crazy about Wall Of Voodoo with no Stan Ridgway.

They look like they've been told by some cheezy maneger that they gotta start lookin cool with their big hair and all. What can i Say... I LIKED THEM WHEN THEY WERE QUIRKY AND GEEKY
