I don't see where Islam has made too many inroads in Latin America.

@carlitos629 - There are times when numbers mean more than percentages, and vice-versa. In terms of religious growth worldwide, I say numbers matter over percentages (at least in this case).
On Latin America, while immigrants from there have grown, we have also gotten many from numerous Asian countries as well. Also, While most Latin Americans are Catholic, Fundamentalist-Evangelicalism has grown significantly there and in that community.

@thespeez part2. "75%" is an extremely fabricated percentage. I do acknowledge that many of the converts originate in prison and join NOI, which is a very corrupt form of Islam. I wouldn't be surprised if the" 75%" refers to this part of Islam. @carlitos629 - I got that figure form a video here on YT which featured a lecture from the late Ilyas Ba Yunus. I have heard figures in the 60% to 75% range however. I agree with you regarding NOI. Sadly, IMNSHO much misogyny has infiltrated the faith to have it mean something it does not.

@carlitos629 - To answer your question, no I am not Muslim. I do, however like knowing how people in other faiths think. When controversy surrounds that faith, I especially take notice. I'll confess that despite growing up Catholic, I have become something of a spiritual liberal and maverick!

@thespeez Yes I was also Catholic, and my entire family is Catholic. I find this trend of branching off from Catholicism to be growing in the U.S. Most of my unreligious-ness I think was due to everything being in Spanish, from church to my first communion. But I feel good about Islam, i believe it is the most logical. We all have the same goal, some just take different paths, i chose the islamic one. @MegaRosX Actually, in the bible there were specific instances where they were told to topple a particular (evil) civilization. At the time there were people who had elaborate ceremonies whereby they would rape young virgins to impregnate them, so they would have a sacrificial infant for the following year. In islam, it is open ended, not specific. They are commanded to make every nation one where noone is allowed to be worshiped but allah. They are the only ones who must ALWAYS kill non-muslims
