I welcome your feedback on my videos too!

    Thanks for making this!

  • great video. everything is explained in detail. thanx

  • i can't see "60 fps" part while doing this. why?

  • Awesome!!! But how did you add the music to the video that you created using Quicktime Player?

  • @shabeebrizvi I do my actual editing in Adobe Premiere. Quicktime is just to create the .mov files from the timelapse photos.

  • Great tutural, thank you!

  • and when you've decided on setting for the first image, repeat to the other 998, one at a time...ah the old days

  • brilliant. thank you

  • thanks, nice tutorial, it has been really useful

  • Dancing boats!!

  • Hey Nicole, this is a great tutorial so thanks! My problem is when i batch edit in LR3 the movie doesnt work properly. It just shows random frames then lots of black flickering! The movie works fine if i just go direct to QT Pro instead but i would like to straighten my shots as it involves a jetty that is slightly skew wiff (wonky) :)

Would appreciate some feedback if you know why im having this problem.

    Thanks, Phil

  • @gizto2t9 If you're batch editing the photos, and they were photographed in manual setting to begin with, then you shouldn't have this problem afaik. Not sure what to tell you.

  • @NicolesyPhotography No problem Nicole. I have shot in manual and have followed your tutorial. The only thing i can see different is that i used JPEG Norm on my D5000. Would this cause a prob? Im sure the res is still ok for 1080. I have tried to do it in 720 also but it still just jumps about with loots of black. Out of interest how big is your file at the end?

  • Perfect. Off to download QuicktimePro! Great tutorial, Nicole. You've made this look easy-peasy :)

  • Hey great tutorial. I have a question. The tilt shift effect... did you do that with a lens or post production.

  • @occyputo That effect was done with a Lensbaby composer lens.

  • They look like toy boats in the final movie : )

  • I just wanted to say thanks for this excellent tutorial. I just got my intervelometer to do timelapse photography. I did a sequence of test shots and your instructions worked perfectly to make them into a movie. I really appreciate this!

  • Great tutorial Ms Nicole!! I have a question. What video editor could support .mov video files from QuickTIme? I've been trying to make my 1st time lapse video but can't import the .mov to the video editor software im using which is Sony Vegas. If i convert the .mov to any supported video file, there are some undesirable losses to the video. What could you suggest?

  • I must say, this is the best tutorial I have ever seen. Thanks a lot Nicole and a Happy New Year :)

  • wow that's really cool nicole thanks for sharing this I just interesting in do some time lapse photography, and I didn't have any idea how to do it...but thanks to you now I'm gonna go out and do it...thanks again.

  • im working on a video for street ministry work

focus on the master out put, thanks,

  • wicked cool!!

how bout a sunset? what's the intervals? is 2 sec good?

  • Thanks Nicole :) Keep making these great Tutorials :)))

    Well presented!

  • or you can just use Movie Maker in Windows 7 that is free.

  • I try to make a time lapse with my Nikon L110, but I'm not sure it work. Tell me please the name of the software, this program you used for edit! If is possible to tell me! ... and excuse my english! Cheers

  • @ok69severin I'm using Quicktime to put the images together for the timelapse. It's possible your camera won't work to do the timelapse, you'll need to check your user's manual to see if you can do interval shooting with it.

  • @ok69severin : The L110 should have a timer interval shooting since my s620 has. Check your menu and scroll to shooting modes ( mine has: single, continuous, BSS [Best Shot Selector] Multi shot and Interval Timer Shooting) so your model should have a similar set up.

  • Exactly what I was looking for! Very informative! Nice work:)

  • boogie boogie boats.

  • Nice video! love the last part, they seems like toy boats =P

  • It's a setting ... go to "Identity Plate Setup..." in Lightroom and you can edit it there.

  • how'd you get your name to show up on the top left in lightroom?

  • weird question but what is the music playing during the time lapse scene?

  • Yes, the watermark in LR2 is very basic, but would work well for timelapse images. LR3 Beta has a better tool (allows graphical watermarks).

  • thanks nicole! your videos are so informative.. subbed! :)

  • does lightroom have batch watermark module?

  • hi (:

  • hi lol

  • That is so, so cool! I agree, they do look like toys or models in the end shot, but still an amazing job. I'm inspired to try this out myself now; I just need to invest in QuicktimePro. Cheers!

  • they look like toys!!

  • Thanks so much! This video was a great help in creating a time lapse (my first ever) of the Leonid meteor shower.

  • Hi Jeff ... I'd love to see your timelapse. Feel free to link to it here if you plan on posting it online. :)

  • Nice, thx for the idea.... my first try sucked :)

  • Thanks Nicole. I'm just starting out with time lapse and your tutorial gives me good insight on the process. I'm going to try with mirror lock up as this time lapse is brutal on the shutter, but the results are great! Thanks again~

  • big fan.. great work!
