"Tsunami Rangers" eh? Bunch of hyped up Yanks I reckon. over 100,000 died in the Boxing Day tsunami, over 10,000 in the recent Japanese tsunami. C'mon - tsunami eans harbour wave and is specific to a particular natural event. You guys just get banged around in the surf. And don't get me started on the 'kill zone'. Perhaps just re-badge yourselves as 'rock-munchers' and be done with it.

Its only another form of white water kayaking plus they are old clips they have refined there technique and companies are producing boats for this branch of the sport. rock hoping and sea white water. Plus its no more dangerous than going down a class 4 or 5 river

They paddle as a self-selected team, practice swimming in rough water, and have developed a methodology for exploring forbidding areas as safely as possible. You don't want to take a big breaking wave full on body slam. If you have ever done it you would know you likely will get knocked down anyway and worked worse. If you roll before the wave hits you take much less impact and if you stick your paddle up into the wave, you are likely to just roll up.
