i have a the Samsung Galaxy s an i have this task killer an i had everything set on what you said an my phone will only make it till the next early morning an the task killer doesnt really work ill kill the apps but there right back on there 3 seconds later killing my battery :/
@MRxStanley DOnt use this crap. Use only JuiceDefender on agressive mode. Then turn off GPS, Data, Sync, Wi Fi, 3G etc. Only connect those things WHEN NEEDED. I go by 3 days no problem using internet, camera, listening to music etc. I once got 6 days out of it but with very little usage.
There already are a task manager built in were you can kill processes. Anyway, this is stupid. Apps in the background dont use RAM or battery. They are just ready to launch faster, this way, SAVING BATTERY. When i got my GS i was shocked by the battery low usage. Less than 1 say quoth very moderate use. Now, i go by 2 days no problem.
@TalesoftheAbyssftw Then use it like i do. ONLY WHEN I NEED IT. I dont know why people wal around with data and 3g on when, most of the time, they are not using it.
@LALELULALE Well, if you have full connectivity 24/7 then noone should complain about battery. Whats the point of being in full contact with friends all day every day? Just connect stuff when your bored while waiting for the bus or something.
i wanted to trry pandora but we have a limited data plan (well, kinda we have 2gigs per month per phone) but for the time being i'm not sure how much I'll be using per month since i just got the phone. i'll mostly be using it at home n it will run off my wi-fi. as long as it's doing that will i be charged data just for running the app? or any app for that matter? thanks in advance :-)
i dunno what everyone is complaining about, i bought iphone 4 first, used it for a good 4 months, then got a galaxy s and there is no comparison. Galaxy is far superior to the iPhone. You have to realize that android isn't exactly a fool proof system if ur galaxy is having difficulties you should learn more on the system and see what you need to rectify. If you use it properly u will see that it runs a lot better.
All you gotta do is install juice defender and your phone will last for about 36 hours easy, without having to think about anything like closing apps or anhything like that. It's awesome!
All you need to do is press back button to properly close any app, however i find that the Froyo update (Android 2.2) doesn't work very well and this has made the phone a lot slower .
Omg this helped like a Bit** i went to the store and asked if there is a stronger battery and if you want a lil more help download juice defender it saves battery life to

@Degenerate724 - instead of downloading this app, I go to the hone screen, long press, samsung widgets and then find program monitor. it tells you when you have a program running, and you can end it easily. I have used this task killer app and liked the widget much more. It helped my battery, but only a little. The usual things that will be running in the background are the browser and the music player. other than that you usually don't have to worry about it. my biggest battery saver yet has
@Degenerate724 - been settings>accounts and sync>unchecking background data. this helped my battery so much. I also have the fascinate. I hope I helped! :D
@Degenerate724 - If you uncheck background data? Yes. I only get my gmail messages when I turn on the background data, though. The only thing you cant do is go onto the market..you also have to turn on background for that. otherwise, everything (calls, texts, some apps, including browser) works perfectly.
This is nonsense, the android operating system doesn't work the same way as windows.
By default Android controls the multi tasking of the phone, it will close apps / send them to sleep when they aren't in use.
You make it sound as if all the apps on the phone would be fully running, as if it were the same as having numerous windows open in XP, this is not the case.
@MrTugging I can't agree with you more. :) There are many people who have the assumptions this is necessary and don't realize what they are doing will hurt performance and as well as degrade battery life of the phone. I say to the video poster, please update your video!
I`ve read a lot of bad hype about ATK and how much people say it drains battery life and there`s no need to have a task killer, what do you think about this?
If task killers are needed then which would be a good one, I`ve had ATK and I thought it did the job well, but now I use Task Panel it seems to be a little faster but its hard to tell......
@WhiteFamilyVlog You have a task killer preinstalled on default Galaxy S firmwares, and Task managers are not recommended, if you close it, you will use more power to open it.
To properly exit an app, just press the back button.
great video dude!!! u r a great tutor!!!..i wish you could do the Voodoo Lagfix step by step video tutorial coz i really want to do the lagfix but dont know how to...the explanation given in the website seems to blur me with lots of unknown terms for me....thanx !!!!
Nice video, how did you do this video I mean the screen capture of the screen, I never Sean anything like this from a cellphone, keep up the good work and thanks for doing it
@swow5210 It will kill all apps at whatever interval you have autokill level at.
If you were to put our phone to sleep, it would kill every app running that isn't on the ignore list. This would include text messaging apps, music apps, and widgets.

- Reduce brightness. Only Increase it when needed
- Turn off 3g. It is useless
- Tweak your e-mail sync
- Turn wi fi when NEEDED
- Turn GPS WHEN NEEDED.
