Wow, I wonder if we crossed paths that summer.

1979 was my first 6 month long hang gliding road trip. I drove from Colorado to California and back, flying every site that the locals would tell me about. Good times for sure !

i've been to paradox alot, my grandparents live there.

i've also been to dead horse point

summer of 1979 I was at the base of the dead horse point jump off point,watching competitors from all over ,run and leap seemingly to their deaths, as i held my breath each time till he wind lifted them up into the beautiful dance of hang gliding.

It was horrifying and magical at the same time.

my only dissapointment is there isnt more film footage posted on this first competition.
