.. I am glad you mentioned Seabiscuit. If you look at his charts (racing history), he carried huge weight 129, 130, and 131 lbs. when his rivals carried a feather at 104, 108 or 110 lbs. And more often than not, he still beat them. He had a ton of talent and a ton of heart, that horse.

How can people forget about horses like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Cigar, Kelso, Forego, Citation, Man 'O War, etc.? Zen is great but these horses should not be forgotten. I think it's safe to say Zen is ONE of the greatest of our generation, but it would be a sin to forget about horses who won the TC, set world records that still stand, etc.

I acknowlege her talent and consistency. However, Secretariat won the Triple Crown all in record times (no one has ever come within two seconds of 2:24) he won on turf, dirt, slop, numerous tracks. He had the most flawless physique ever, and he could win from last or from the front. His overall consistency, brilliance, and achievements on the track cannot be compared to Zenyatta's. That's my point, but again, in this day and age, Zen is one of the best.

RA is a very nice filly and deserves HOY as much as Z but for a deep closer to win at 8.5f behind a pace that slow is at least as remarkable as RA's game win in the Woodward after a really fast pace.
