How can George know about Doc? Though They never mentioned George's relationship with Doc in the movies. I've also noticed a few differences. One, Marty had a Huey Lewis & The News Poster in his room. Two, the amplifier in Doc's garage was blown out (because Marty maxed out the volume and power and destroyed it with one strum of his guitar) and made a huge mess because of it. I can understand the garage being cleaned up with George and Biff attending to it recently. But, wowsers what nostalgia.

Much like it ran through remote control in the first Back to the Future, this DeLorean is programmed to activate and time travel to a date preset by Doc. He more or less made the DeLorean into a smart car. Not so strange, considering the 21st century is chock full of smart cars.

While Doc and the original car were hurled 70 years into the past to 1885, the duplicate was hurled 70 years into the future to 2025. Doc had taken the time train to 2025 and discovered the duplicate there. Griff Tannen was also trying to use the car for his own purposes before Doc stopped him.
