People dont realise it's got a straight cut gearbox. That almost certainly means closer ratio gears, which is why its so quick. You can make any car, even a standard one, lightning fast with the right gearing. Thats like how tractors are geared for torque, can only do like 30 top wack but can move a house, or the same idea you get americans doing, lawn mower racing. The gearing is what can make something fast or slow. Acceleration is good, top end not so good. It's simple. Dont need loads of pow

Im afraid it does serve a purpose in rallying as it is a 106 maxi, peugeot homologtaed the 106 maxi for upto 1600cc rallying regulations at the time. Its just that this car, is not used for rallying and instead used for trackdays.

I recognised the area as Northampton and I only ever go that way when on route to FCS. Think I have been down that road in my Williams...which is a similar spec to your Pug but not the box, I've just got a Gripper differential in mine :)
