@rangerxx345 this ringless barrel has a different bore design and is about 2 cm longer than the stock E11 barrel that I have. there are subtle differences in how it feels to play (but whether or not that justifies paying $60 is a different story lol). and i have about 4 ligatures? stock buffet, olegature (gold one, came free with my e11), vandoren leather, and a bonade (never use anymore). I typically use my vandoren leather with the thick dark leather plate.
@rangerxx345 yeah i tried my friend's eddie daniels rovner MkIII and i prefer my vandoren leather. maybe cuz i'm used to it? ppl on the forums say the vandoren leather muffles the sound (too much leather) but i feel it helps round/darken the tone. to each his own! :D
@DTrinh09 i feel that the vandoren leather makes a dark sound, but im not sure if that's what people call a round and warm sound, but it's better than rovner. people say my sound is good, but maybe it's the way you blow it makes a difference
@rangerxx345 lol a hard piece? i haven't played actual technical pieces since i was in high school. i learned how to play clarinet about 6-7 years ago starting in middle school. no private lessons, just school band and playing at home. my mechanics are terrible now--my prime was probably 2-3 years ago? i had really nice articulation and projection. not so much now
@rangerxx345 i live in socal for college. lol and i'm not that good.. really. my mechanics are pretty bad. i don't practice a lot and i don't know my scales. thanks though
If you've only played for 1 year, don't get a new one. If you have been playing on a rental, get a Buffet B12. Later, get a Buffet E11. The Buffet b12 is a student instrument and the E11 is an intermediate/semi pro instrument. If you play through highschool or college, get a Buffet R13, which is a professional instrument.
i think he means that the gap between the mouthpeice and your keys are quite big :) hehe maybe you have a longer barrel :)?? usually there a bit closer together
well it's a 66mm barrel instead of the standard 65mm.. but i think what gives the illusion that it's super long is that mine doesn't have metal rings so it just looks like one continuous thing
