  • Excellent catch !! 5*

  • @mathiasvolta Thank you! Getting decent MW DX at my noise polluted home is always a special event.

  • Superb catch. Does RNE from Madrid get in the way on 585 (signal can be very strong here)? Or I take it the JRC has an excellent filter.

  • @mutezone Thanks! RNE isn't much of a problem here because Spain is in the null of the loop antenna. Of course, it is audible and causing some minor splatter, but the 2.4 kHz filter in combination with passband shift helps to get rid of it.

  • Congrats on your personal first Matthias! I know the feeling, it's great to get another new station logged...Cheers Les

  • @amdxing Thanks, Les! I'm especially happy about this one as getting decent DX at my noisy home is a rare event. Cheers Matthias

  • I am a Dxer since 1975 and my interest is towered mainly in mw ta dx.

Maybe that we know each other with our real names:-)

  • @XCR30 Maybe... ;-) I'm a DXer since 1986 and used to be an active member of DSWCI in the mid 1990s, but I didn't publish anything under my real name since 1999.

  • Excellent dx.

  • @XCR30 Thank you! Conditions were pretty good that night.

  • congrats Matthias with the personal first ... i agree with mark mw has been so poor here the past few days

  • @tvdxrools Thanks David... I'm delighted about this one. MW DXing is quite a challenge at my QTH, especially at home with an ever increasing level of local noise. The recent solar storm has put an end to last week's good conditions for the time being. Let's hope propagation will recover soon. Cheers Matthias

  • Great Dxing Matthias... congrats on a personal first..good ID also the last few days MW with me has been so poor with hardly any stations being audible not even WBBR ! the aurora causing havoc...the night of the 18th January seems to have provided many DXers in Europe with some good catches look forward to more cheers Mark

  • @MARKGM20877 Thanks Mark... I'm quite happy about this one as it is rare enough to get decent MW DX at my noise polluted home and generally, receiving TA stations is notoriously difficult at my QTH even outdoors. Indeed, conditions on 18 and 19 January were quite good. At the moment, propagation is killed by the aftermath of the recent solar eruption and the forecasts for the coming days look all but promising, to put it kindly. Let's hope it will improve again soon. Cheers Matthias
