@FooFighterBiffyClyro A little bit late but: It's because the Refresh Rate of the camera he recorded with didn't match the one on the TV (The Amiga puts out 50hz afaik). It's of course not flickering in "real life" :)
@FooFighterBiffyClyro Hello my friend, I'm glad to see someone else from the old country. I know this "electricity" thing is new to us all, but none of the western devil's magic boxes can hurt you.
I recently got a new motherboard for my amiga and transfered the rom and floppy over to it. but upon boot all i now get is a black screen. I have noticed however that my floppy drive is now missing a pin, could anyone check and see what an amiga does if the floppy isnt connected on power up?
It'd be nice to know if its the ROM, my motherboard or just the floppy drive before I spend more on parts.
@Jawattdenn The CF cards are very resistant to damage compared to a regular 2,5" harddrive, so I did not find it necessary to do anything to hold it absolutely still. If you want that you could use regular duct tape. There probably are better commercial solutions to add a CF to the Amiga, but this is by FAR the chepeast solution and you can put it together in a few minutes.
HI all ...... i had a amiga years a go ..and it was great but can anyone tell me what actually we can do with amiga now . i mean whats the benefit in that ? thanks ..
@mensiuscho A 14mhz Amiga with 2mb ram is obviously no match against a modern PC with 3000ghz dual core processor with 4000 mb ram, however, it is fun retro experience if you want to play old games for instance. A CF solution to the amiga is cheap and easy to install and it can literally fit thousands of Amiga games.
Can somebody help me please? I´ve got an Amiga 1200, and have a problem with video output. When I connect the Amiga via the composite video out jack ( labelled COMP ) to the video-in input of my TV ( it is a NTSC japanese TV but in my country we use PAL system ), the image is sharp and clean, but is all greenish, and does not show the other colors, what could be going on ? something has gone wrong with my Amiga video ? I would be very grateful for someone´s help!
@customizersp Instead of a Composite video cable connect to the 23-pin video out port of your Amiga and has a SCART plug to go into your tv. Give the steadiest view.
jinbostore on ebay sells these adapters for $1.21 including international shipment, search for "CF to 44 Pin IDE Hard Drive Adapter bootable #9692" :) I've just received mine, so haven't tried it yet. Any idea how to transfer Workbench from my old HD to the CF? Unfortunately I don't have the original WB disks anymore :(
Thx, that was my idea too, but wasn't sure it would work :) I've ordered a 44-pin to 40-pin HD-adaptor so will connect the old Amiga HD directly to my stationary computer.
@oraknes you could buy a network adapter for your amiga and transfer the files over to the pc. remove the hard drive, install the cf drive and transfer the files back. however, i think it might be less hassle if you just buy a cf cardreader to the pc and reinstall workbench and your programs on the CF disc over winuae.
@TheCommodore64Player thx, I bought a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor and connected the harddrive to the pc, and copied the files in WinUAE :) Workbench works fine, but some programs/games stopped working (copy protection?)
Looks like you have the CF adapter resting on the shield -- you might want to consider some insulation between the two or you'll risk shorting something out.
WTF is wrong with that TV, flickkering all over the place like a bastard

Is CF to 44 Pin IDE Hard Drive Adapter bootable #9692 the adapter you are using in the video?
doufas007 1 year ago
@doufas007 Yes it autoboots just like a regular amiga 2,5" hard drive.

I got a better CF2IDE adapter. It has the size of a 2.5" HD and can be screwed to the A1200 HD holder if you drill a few holes.

@TheCommodore64Player damn those 3000ghz
toendemikkel 1 year ago
@mensiuscho However you can add a PPC 200-300 Mhz and 180 MB RAM
And use it as a PC today, it may be not stronger but its OS is great !
(In fact Im typing this on my Amiga)
And When the Amiga X1000 comes out, We will be High end again : )

@oraknes
Connect your CF through USB and use winuae.

And if you're running WinUAE on Vista or Windows 7, you'll need to run it as Administrator or WinUAE won't be able to mount the drive.

you can find a program that will take the hd image and transfer over to the cf card if the cf card is bigger than original hard drive

Amigas with the Kickstart 3.0 ROMs can only support up to 4GB.
AmigaOS 3.9, with the Kickstart 3.1 ROMs can support much larger drives.

I use 8GB CF and have to keep the partitions to 2GB x 4. Plenty for WHDload :-)
