The image of Asherah was a tree (a date palm) used by the Pagan Canaanites and Phoenicians. One of these Pagan Phoenicians was "Jezebel" (Izebel - meaning "virgin of Baal"), who married Ahab, king of Israel (Samaritan king). Northern Israel was dispersed into the nations by the Assyrians in 722 BCE, they carried this "tree" custom with them. The lost tribes of dispersed Israel have preserved one of their most cherished Pagan customs among them.
"Izebel" is also referred to at Rev. 2, and her "teachings". The Greeks gave the "Phoenicians" their name, Phoenicia, which means "date palm". They called themselves Sidonians or Tyreans, after their city-states of Tyre and Sidon. Their "date palms" were called ASHERIM, and Izebel taught this Pagan practice to northern Israel through her marriage to Ahab
Asherah was the Pagan queen of heaven, not the God's wife. Izabel was heavy into Pagan God worship, she was married to Ahab (king of norther Israel) and tried to keep it alive. In the Gospel of Mary, she asks Jesus about Male/Female in he...aven - long story but that is what it boils down ot, she was told there is no distinction, but rather spiritual existence. I think we give God "male" attributes because in that day the highest level of authority was a King (which were men),,
