I can see why they deleted the scenes. According to this TCM book, the football scene and the Briggs scene wasn't Hooper, but some 2nd unit director who had a vision "different" from Hooper which is clearly evident. Still a good movie though

@JonScatman In fact they wanted to keep all the homecoming scene but the Cannon film Group chose to delete them for some kind of rythm matters.

I really wish they kept these scenes in the movie, my biggest gripe with Chainsaw 2 is that you don't really see leatherface saw anyone up, and in these two scenes we get that in spades and they're hilarious to boot!
