I use an SPL Vitalizer with my XTk. While it still won't sound like an analog machine, it gets surprisingly close to the sound of the Microwave 1 with analog filters I will post up some clips next month. I'm very happy with this setup.
01 : 57..... so deep bass-beautifull!! ... i wonder about virus user's, hahaha! btw i own a Q , its more trippy i think but ths becomes a quality synth also* thanx for posting this.
@leerique - I don't know that this instrument needs to sound very analog. To paraphrase John Foxx of Ultravox, I believe it's going to be a challenge of today's generation to learn to understand and program digital so it sounds good...as digital. Not just as VA.
@orientalflux Yes, it's very digital. There are all many different sounds in the world, and analog (or analog emulation) is not the only tool you can use to make music. I like analog synthesizers too but they can't make the sounds that the XTk makes, and vice versa. Appreciate instruments for what they are.
Have you used it's wavetable envelopes and user wavetables? ;)
Or those modifiers which look like mathematical formulas +, -, *, /, XOR, OR, AND, S&H, ramp, switch, abs value, min value, max value, lag proc., diff. etc..?
I would say that this thing could be complex..it just depends on user if using all of it's possibilities. Gladly it can produce marvellous sounds with just subset of its parameters. =P
@damienmmm just to answer the question... the start of the video does sound like a lot of the underground resistance sorta outta space sound, just remember dude.. its the proggramer not the synth. so yeah that synth would do the job well. but you gotta know how to get the sound outta the synth if you get me bro..
@leerique yeah of course :) I got, a korg esx, tr 606, sh 101 and im buying a x0xb0x next week if you know one of those. and after that i need to add some strings, effects etc. what would you suggest?
@pomfrit93 try one of old viruses (b/c). these synths are easy to find and has extremely wide capabilities. i think, every synth-tweaker must have at least one virus, no matter which music he writes. ;)
microwaves are very cool, but they are very strange-sounding devices. so, if your "trance/acid/goa" are not for "profit" - microwave can add some strangeness into your music. ;)
Dude, the image is shaky and the colors are ba-a-ad, you should fix the camera. :D

nice synth, however I don't feel any analogue there, sounds very digital.
orientalflux 1 year ago
@orientalflux but this synth can be very analogue just with special wavetables.

@orientalflux who gives a fucking shit if it sounds analog?.. this is a digital wavetable synth and has no intention on sounding "analog".

@TheCountaaron hahaha easy baba! my mistake then

I already have a Roland V-Synth GT. There is an opportunity to get an XTk. Can the XTk do anything that the V-Synth GT cannot? I really want to know.
gridsleep 1 year ago
@gridsleep as i know V-Synth knows nothing about Wavetable-synthesis.

Is this synth good for trance, acid, goa. etc?
pomfrit93 1 year ago
@pomfrit93 any synth is good for any music. you just need to know which sounds you need and then you need to check synth's capabilities.
