  • its actually better to say the Br attaches to the more substituted carbon, im not trying to be a smart ass but people who dont know this mechanism might get this confused with others Im always happy to see people post videos like this thank you

  • a cyclic bromonium ion would form and not carbocation because a cyclic bromonium ion is more stable than a carbocation. The bromine's electron cloud is close enough to the other sp2 carbon to form a bond.

  • This isn't exactly right. A bromonium ion would form between the two carbons and the bromine. The negatively charged bromine would then attack the bromonium ion forming the product.
