the eighties, when men actually made an effort to look good, and when it actually took talent to play music, when songs actually had meaning, so for those of you who didnt get the memo just yet, music was murdered at the beginning of this centry, just letting you all know.
Did you oldies ever listen to The Killers? To Mumford and Sons? To The Kings of Leon? I'll be 40 this June and I adore music from before I was born....perhaps that's the difference: I know my musical roots........
Both of you are right, actually. The music today, most of it anyway, is terrible but the decline started way back in the 90s sometime. The 80s was last great decade for music, and the Kajas knew/know how to play and write well. Beggs on bass, magic. Music now seems very onesided and simple, same tones hit over and over, boring ballads going nowhere and lullaby rock revealing a lack in musical understanding/songwriting techniques. Maybe the talent is there, but perhaps inspiration is missing.
@komodoman I totally agree with you! I'm 43, remember vividly seeing them for the first time in 1983 when I was still in high school. Music back then for me was pure magic but now...I just don't listen to popular music that much.
Sure there some truly talented kids out there today but nothing to me compares to the music that came out of the 80's!!!
It's a shame pop music isn't like this nowadays! They should bring a law in so that only over-30's can buy music, to get rid of the current rubbish and so this stuff would make a comeback!
Heard a couple of the band members on TalkSport the other week - sounded like top guys.
To jhodgski: That's not fair what about all the younger people i.e. me who despise the sort of stuff that is in the charts just now and love Kajagoogoo and other artists form the 80's and earlier?
Did anyone notice how much tact and poise Limahl showed when he was approached by Bands Reunited in 2004? It made me instantly respect him. And lay off Nick Beggs, he still has hair! Plus when they interview he's extremely funny and has a great personality.
why is the guitarist using a magnet to get sustain when there is a pickup called the sustainer and it does the same thing but more precisely..also ive seen nick beggs play a fender jazz bass and then he uses a musicman stingray..i always found musicman bass's to be pro low tone and the jazz to handel things a bit her up tone wise and melodically..being a bass player you see these little things and wonder..kajagoogoo need to come to cleveland ohio so i can see them!
geezuz I hate when I come across this song the bass line looping in my brain for days

Limahl has not aged. att. all. How is this even possible? Did he sell his soul to the devil or what?

One of the best bass lines. Slap bass at it's best.

Ahh what happened to Limahl's dance? Too shy to try that in the 21st century? I love this, you guys seem to have hardly aged.

They were great live on this show. That intro is bang on. Got played to death originally, but I have respect for them now. Nice one.

The sound is incredible for a live performance from 1983 to now. I hope you guys can make it to the US.
