  • Cyborgs are the next stage of evolution.

  • @JuicersSuck Probably so, and surely so in chess :)

  • The move a7-half-a6 from kramnik is a brazillian move.. lol

  • @mozartiano123 Yes, just a joke :-)

  • Good work! For my robotics class we integrated a camera to let the robot "see" the board. This saved us needing to buy the $1100 board. So a slower move on the robot's part (cycle of about 15 seconds from move to move), and a bit more complex to program, but a good project for sure!

  • @Freshmoore Thanks. Camera sight is very interesting, but we considered it as much more difficult in programming and less sure for a real chess game.

  • this is awesome!!!!!!

  • @KillaNinja0 We think so too, thanks :)

  • Kasparov is hiding under the table and making the moves i tell you!

  • @YtubeUserr That would cost much more than to use only engine :-)

  • the turk!

  • How does it receive the input of the human move? The user behind? Or on its own?

  • @BJBlitzstein It reads human moves from the electronic board. Quite easy thing indeed :-)

  • @chessrobot2010 Is that type of electronic board available for retail? I ask because it seems very effective in reading piece movement. The Novag Citrine, one of the most expensive chess computers out there, has pressure sensitive tiles, but you have to move the pieces a certain way for the computer to properly read the move (you cannot slide the pieces like many humans do, and in capturing you have to lift the captured piece up first and then move the capturing piece).

  • @undeadnightorc Yes, such board is very convenient, but it one costs like the whole Novag device. And this robot arm with chess engine connected costs much more than that.

  • Will the software for this ever become available to the public? Or the arm even XD

  • @LLawliet435 The chess engine software we used is widely affordable, its called Rybka. The arm is more rare and expensive of course. Yet we suggest the whole construction for sale too.

  • @LLawliet435 Naughty naughty

  • Fake. I think there is a human arm inside.

  • @MrRazorblade999 That shall be the arm of Ironman then :-)

  • ajajajja que curada esa maquina

  • @Juancarloxagain Perdonen nosotros no hablamos española :) Machine is cute, isnt it?

  • oh my god, machines moving the pieces :S

  • @Cliroxs And its moving makes sence, you see :-)

  • brilliant

  • @ghostfullystingy Thanks :-)

  • when we all die only robot left.

  • In Russia...robot beats YOU!

  • @vamtheanomaly It can beat everyone, have no doubt :-)

  • 1:40 Kramnik makes smth funny

  • @WZBozon He`s having fun, really :-)

  • It uses a camera to detect the human players move? if so, where is the camera?

  • @allah69 Its not camera, some censors in pieces and board.

  • @chessrobot2010 What kind of sensors? I am building a chess playing robot just for fun and am using Hall effect sensors under the board to sense magnets I put in the pieces.

  • @allah69 You can just use a DGT electronic board as we do.

  • Very cool :-)

  • @RomanticLinguaphilia Indeed! Thank you :-)

  • Is that the robot that's in Fritz 12? It looks a lot like it. In Fritz it doesn't move pieces IIRC; it just points red and green lasers at the board when it's thinking.

  • @42tehfloor No, its not that. Its our unique robot which plays real blitz games on a real board. It can successfully play simultaneously against 3 players of any level.

  • I don't understand this. Why not just play a program on a computer. Same god damn thing.

  • @xxxIronLeexxx No problem if you prefer virtual chess. But someone enjoys real pieces more :)

  • @chessrobot2010 I guess it's just the novelty of it, the fun of playing this robot that moves the peices.

  • so who won??

  • @dannyboy12357 It was a friendly draw :)

  • I made such a chessmonster as early as in 2001. It was introduced on a industrial exhibition i Denmark. See:

scandimatic dot dk/Robofritz/Events%20-%20ChessBase.htm The purpose was to attract costumers to our robot solutions, since we were specialized in implementing KUKA-robots. Today I run my own company, Scandimatic, which make the same kind of robot integration. See:

    scandimatic dot dk/Galleri.htm

We could give you an offer to anyone who is interested?

  • @Vikingulf Thanks :) We had already some correspondence about the offer.

  • No big deal about this thing. Take a small KUKA robot (i think the robot in the vid is one from their low price line), connect it with a DGT board and a strong chess engine and presto! you have a chess robot.

  • @GibMirVideos12 Well, you think its so easy? Just do it then, and we`ll hold a match :-)

  • @chessrobot2010 As soon as I've got the pocket change for a KR 5 I'll give you note. ;-)

On a more serious level: Of course I know you had to program the communication to the chess engine (probably via UCI), you had to program the communication to the board and you had to do the robot programming. That's quite some work to do and I don't want to take any credits away from you.

  • I suggest Thing as a name or even Fred.

  • @wgmount Thanks. We call it Chessrobot yet :-)

  • If anyone interested in having such 'chess-monster' I could give u an offer!

    Please contact sales@scandimatic.dk

  • @Vikingulf that would create instant humility .. or suicide. :))

  • 2:06Is that Nasi Paikidze and Tatiana Kosintseva?

  • that was fun to watch

  • 2012, The Terminator and SkyNet will become a reality!

  • @aksha77 Oh perhaps? but this is only a chess killer :)

  • what about Puma?

  • @mikgigs Thanks, thats an idea :) Perhaps Puma will pay something for displaying its logo :)

  • did u guys build the ai that runs the robot?

  • @penprop01 No, but we taught it to play using his own arm :)

  • Уважаемые зрители! Создатели робота объявляют конкурс! Лучшее имя для нашего монстра! Ждем ваших предложений.

Dear viewers! Developers of this robot declare a contest on the best name for it! Please leave your suggesions.

  • what an experience it must have been!

  • круто.

  • Be careful with Qh7 Kramnik!

  • Слава роботам!

  • Among the viewers: Arkady Dvorkovich, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of Russian Chess Federation and Magnus Carlsen, the top player in FIDE rating list.

  • @TheChesscc I can see Boris Gelfand Boris Eljanov, and even Mamedjarov shows his face :)

  • @lazyatthedisco Thanks a lot for a such informative comment :-)

  • To Reshik33: Independently of the engine installed doesnt it look amazing? :)

  • @chessrobot2010 Yes, it is a very neat device.

  • @Reshik33 Thanks :) We hope a lot of people will be able to enjoy it if our world tour be arranged :)

  • To doquille Читайте описание :)

  • кто выиграл то?

  • If they installed Rybka on that machine, all the smiles surely would turn upside down.

  • @Reshik33 haha, very true

  • That could be a very amazing show if somebody would arrange a world tour of this chess terminator :-)

  • I heard Kramnik's comments were very funny - can anyone translate them into English?

  • @BrianWallChess

it is untranslatable russian jokes :)

что ж делать то с тобой????

  • Ну... что-то от Терминатора в нём есть :)

  • Скайнет?
